Спорт

This weekend I competed at Long Course Wales, not all went to plan but I managed to get a performance out of myself that required a huge Pogačar style attack with 80km left to race!

A little about Ed….
Ed is an elite cyclist, 2019 British Hill Climb Champion and former Under 23 British RR Champion. He has raced as a Continental level Professional Rider for one of the most successful British cycling teams in Japan, Korea, Australia, Canada, Azerbaijan to name a few. He is also a public speaker, coach, and founded the on/offline cycling community, Backpedal. At the start of 2021, the Discord community began, and plonked many of Ed's viewers in to a 550+ strong group of people that had many things in common. Not least wanting to explore the world and pedal their bikes faster!
Ed coaches lots of cyclists in the online community too! If you are interested, email [laverackcoaching@yahoo.com] for information on the 1-2-1 coaching package and training plans, of which there are many and flexible options to suit everyone!
Ed now prioritises having fun with my hard earned fitness and knowledge in the sport. Showcasing that maybe there is an alternative to racing for teams when you can race for yourself and your community of followers and brands. This KZread channel is a docu-series highlighting what it’s like to be a cyclist in today’s competitive age of sport.

I’ve seen from the results sheet that you absolutely blitzed Dragon Gran Fondo, event I was also doing on Sunday, averaging 34kph… I thought I did not bad with my 28.2kph effort lol. Now I learn that you did this at the back of 180km monster effort the previous day… you’re an absolute machine, huge kudos. Lovin’ the tactics and fuelling/pacing strategies you include in your videos. Keep up the good work

Incredible effort to finish so high in overall standing on a road bike 😮Next time there is a similar event, you need to borrow a TT bike - you’d be absolutely flying!

Ha! Well done and chapeau! I didn't know that you rode Gran Fondo after another big ride! That's truly impressive! 🙌 We were somewhat slower than you on that DR2024 day, yet we were able to set better (marginally) times on a couple of segments 😁

Really interesting to see how you break rides down and select where you are going to put efforts in, and that effort "cost" as a % of your FTP. I like many riders, just have 2 gears, cruising and max effort until you can't sustain it any longer. I really should get a power meter, establish my FTP, and then base my efforts with that in mind. Just to state the obvious, my numbers aren't like yours.....but that doesn't matter, what matters is knowing what your FTP is a working from that. Thank you.

Loving these. At 6.20, 300w aint gonna work for the next 4hrs.... where's Gunnar when you need him? 😂 Speaking of which... some big guys riding that it seems. A lot of focus on watts/ftp these days, good to hear you talk about cresting and actual road speed too ,which is missed by many.

Question. Can one use your Ftp on Zwift for road power, or does it differ for road?

Good Q, many people have different FTP indoors vs out. Mine is very similar though, so I use the same.
