Story 1: I feel like people are focusing on the fact OP chose the town as a bad thing. Keep in mind OP gets paid to essentially downsize locations. This means innocent people, no matter where he went, innocent people were going to get screwed over. So ask yourself this? Is it better to screw over the mostly corrupt town or the less corrupt town? Rationally it is better to screw over the corrupt town and delay an inspection on the other two towns then to let this town go when really it deserves what it gets. OP’s post is basically the railroad issue when you look past the personal vendetta they have. Do you screw over 8 bad guys and two good guys or 8 good guys and 2 bad guys? Just so happens the personal bits is what led OP to screwing over the 8 bad guys. So really, OP is not a jerk. The only reason someone would call them a jerk is due to the fact OP downsized a town they knew relied on the factory. That said, that *is* OP’s job. All OP did *was* their job.

*Story 1- Fantastic Revenge* As a person who is also very vindictive against people who hurt me, I will say with no shame that this OP is my hero. That is without a doubt the most EPIC story of revenge/karmic justice I've ever heard. Towns like this, deserve destruction of biblical proportion specifically for their vile misuse of the bible itself. "A child not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel the warmth." (African Proverb) This whole story just made me warm & fuzzy all over. OP? You're a rockstar. 💪💗

I understand their motivations, and don't condemn them for their actions - but I don't celebrate them either. There are no heroes in that story, it's just layers upon layers of misfortune; his life and his mothers life were ruined by the flaws of their town, and in vindictive self-righteousness (which is a flaw) he went on to destroy the lives of many others. Perhaps the adults in the town deserved it, but his actions exposed a new generation of innocents to more trauma (i.e. domestic abuse, crime, drugs, alcoholism, etc.).

@@paulmccue2096 while you are free to disagree, OP is sort of a hero. OP gets paid to downsize locations. He was essentially getting paid to have other people *lose* their jobs. So the question becomes, does OP screw over a town that is mostly not corrupt or a mostly corrupt town? This situation is the railroad issue in essence. Do you screw over 8 bad and 2 good guys or 2 bad guys and 8 good guys? All OP did was use their knowledge on the location and their personal vendetta to choose screwing over 8 bad guys. Ultimately, all OP did was their job. If *any* party is to blame for the situation it is the corporation that wanted to downsize, but that is a different topic all together. As for this story, OP did the best thing: take out the mostly corrupt town and save the other two unknown towns for abit longer.

I have a story to tell , it isn’t a revenge story , although I wished it was . I was 12 years old at the time , and in my school we have this big test thing called primary school leaving examinations (PSLE) which decides which secondary school , which is the equivalent of high school in our country , u go to , based on your scores . Now my year had just finished our exams and the last few weeks in our primary school was spent playing board games and watching KZread in class . However we also had this thing called the interclass games , which was basically a football/frisbee tournament for all the graduating classes . Now my class won the football tournament and everyone was very. Happy , however the runnerups were pretty sad and bummed out , which was understandable . However some doofus from our class called Sean decided it was a good idea to taunt the class who came in second , and some of them complained during recess . So after recess my teacher gave a speech about good sportsmanship and scolded Sean for his actions , However , somehow , I was accused as well for taunting the other class , I was very confused and denied it , and it didn’t help that some of the bigger jock kids began telling me to fess up , and saying stuff like ,”at least Sean has the balls to admit to his mistakes you have no balls” . You might think that the teacher would try and help me or check if I really did taunt the other class, but she just stood by and let my classmates act as the interrogators . Now , four years later , I think I figured out how I got accused of something I didn’t do , u see when during recess I ran into some of the students in the losing class in the toilet , and I told them I was sorry that my classmate acted like a douche , but somehow , those guys were so butthurt about losing the game , that they managed to misinterpret those words into something along the lines of , “hahaha ,u guys lost ,your team is stinky” But I was still twelve back then and under a lot of pressure and stress at the moment so I didn’t put two and two together and began crying due to the pressure . Afterwards however , I started acting out , I hit one guy on the back with a yearbook and call another guy a disease , people got Mad and the next thing I know , the whole class vegans pushing me out of the class onto the floor , and shouting at me , the teacher , not the same one as before , bravely did nothing to stop those hooligans , and later gave a talk about people who cannot hold their mouths (me) . I was still crying at that point and one of my classmates asked me why I was crying as this was ALL MY FAULT . Yes totally , me , a child acting out after being falsely accused without any proof by the whole class without any one to turn to for support , was fully to blame , this left me with a horrible last few weeks experience of school . And it’s one of my biggest regrets to this day , that I didn’t stand up for myself and told them about the whole toilet thing and tell them to stop accusing me without proof . So was I the jerk ?

Story 1: A classic case of 'you reap what you sow' here. The OP isn't a jerk and didn't really have to go to great lengths to get payback here, the townsfolk pretty much did it to themselves and in more ways then one. Not just with their poor treatment of the OP and his mother over the years, but their whole "holier then thou" attitudes, from his extended family, to teachers, to schoolmates and church people. Good thing the OP got out of that dead-end town and got his payback. Story 2: Actually, i wouldn't consider the OP, or the gf jerks here, the extended friends are, and i think the OP realized that afterwards. There is no shame in enjoying Pokemon like that, but the friends were clearly just being dicks about it. Story 3: No way is the OP the jerk here, the entitled friend sure is. He and his gf are clearly free-loaders and mooches. I'm honestly surprised the family put up with them for the entire trip. I know i sure would not have. Story 4: Karen's just seem to get crazier and stupider it seems. Also, how do some of these Karen's just not get backhanded or knocked out when they grab somebody? I think its a matter of time before we hear a story along those lines. Story 5: OP isnt a jerk here. Their family just flat out suck. They were being late by sheer laziness and uncaring. It is by no means the OP's responsibilty to keep reminding them to get ready, especially if they are always late. The rest of the family could've easily done something, but instead, just chose to make the OP an easy and unfair scapegoat and target.

Story 1 I am so so sorry you had to go through what you did. I cannot even imagine the pain and suffering your mother went through. The fact that the uncle did this and his friends just goes to show how downright twisted and evil they are. They can pretend all they want that they are righteous and have never done anything wrong but, the jokes on them because in the afterlife they will suffer for what they have done for all eternity. You can hide behind religion and do evil 😈 but in the end those that do such things end up being the fool because nature will punish them. She did not deserve to have suffered the way she did and you did not deserve what happened to you. You can take some comfort knowing your mother is at peace and is in heaven where she belongs. Some people are downright evil to the core. I only hope that you never have to go through that ever again and that if you do have a family of your own, they will never have to suffer what you and your mother suffered. 😉😇🙏

See I'm a grown ass adult and I'm not afraid to get vulgar and even mildly threatening when it comes to people like that touching me or Someone I care about and making rude comments. Quite frankly I would have told her "Bitch if you touch me again I'm going to shove you in your shopping cart upside down and roll you down the aisle" I remember one time a couple decades ago I ended up taking my little 4-year-old niece to Walmart late at night when my sister had come in from another state to visit and I had to go pick up a bunch of supplies for a party we were having later on the next day and my niece was hyper and just wanted to go out because she couldn't go to sleep. I had her in the shopping cart when I ended up bumping into one of my assistant managers from my job and one of his buddies. I don't know if they were intoxicated or not but his buddy looked at my little 4-year-old niece and said these three words, "Who's the Hooker?" Keep in mind my niece was 4 years old. I gave him a death glare and I frankly told my boss, "If he EVER says anything like that in front of her or about her again I'm going to cut his eyes out and feed them to him" Now I'm only 5'9, but I have this intense and neat little trick that I've been told about. This little thing happens with my eyes to where when I get pissed off the whites turn blood red and my irises become extremely blue, as that is their natural color, A few of my friends call it Zombie Eyes, lol. Apparently I freaked out that guy's friend so much He backed off and ran off. My bus kept apologizing for about a week after that.

I recall the old days as I am one of the guys that lived through it. I am 61 and about to turn 62 not before too long. I remember the era of when many more people went to church on Sunday. Many of your retail businesses were closed on Sunday so that their families can go to church. It is true that you don't dare mess with someone's religious beliefs. I never believed in violence, but even back then when I rode the school bus, there were teenagers that would try to make me change my beliefs, they called me a "retard" but the bus driver would have none of it. The ones that called me names on the bus got written up and sometimes suspended from the bus. And in those days, if the parents actually cared, and they got the bus write-up in the mail, the culprits got in big trouble for it. Many times, they would have been grounded, spanked or both. And once they got punished for it, they saw to it that it never happened again. I did have some really nice bus drivers in the days when I went to school. The buses with the manual transmissions had what is called a "Compound" transmission, meaning that 1st gear was classified as a deep under gear. If you had 4 possible speeds in the transmission and a deep under in 1st, only 3 of them were useable on the road since you would be starting off in 2nd. When you did use that gear, it was pretty noisy compared to the direct gears. But I enjoyed hearing the sound of the engine when the bus driver did have to use 1st.

Story 1: OP isn't a jerk. You said he isn't a heroe. But that is the problem .... OP's job isn't that... in fact, OP could be one for the other 2 places he didn't choose. Plus, even if there was innocent people on that town, they probably are victims like OP and he give them a better opportunity to get away from there. Story 2: OP actually take it like a champ because he didn't understand it wasn't a GF problem but a friend problem in this case. OP probably was naive with his friends and "friends" like that tend to be a-holes who want their dancing monkey (OP) to remain with them. This is the same as another OP who wonders why their friends doesn't accept her bf, and her bf want to distance himself from them. It was very obvious the "friend group" was mad they don't had their successful single drinking girl buddy to paid for their drinks. Everyone called the OP out for what she didn't understand, and their she clearly understand it was not a BF problem but a "friends" problem instead. Good thing OP choose to swallow it, apologize with his gf, and even connect with her too through her hobby. If the hobby doesn't harm anyone then you can try it.

I feel bad for this guy but he wasn't in the right either I'm from a Christian family and I can confidently say that religious people are not always like they are in this story in this story the were obviously very corrupt and didn't really care about Christianity as a religion in actuality we're just regular people with different beliefs you can have your own world view you don't have to believe in specific religion it doesn't matter if you think on thing is true and the other is false you shape your own world views no one can force you to believe in something the choice is up to I really hope that this made someone feel better and I also hope I explained things properly and that's all I have to say have a good one

I don't see how you can call this guy a legend. The collateral damage here was huge, hurting many people who did nothing to him. Not saying he didn't have a right to be upset, but hurting innocent people is not the way to get revenge on someone else. He should have informed his employer that him going to evaluate his hometown was a conflict of interest.

@@nadinesharp9766 the reality is someone innocent was *always* going to get hurt. OP was essentially going to close down a factory no matter where he went. That is what he gets paid to do. As such, it is better he targets the corrupt town with a higher corrupt to non-corrupt ratio then the non-corrupt town. OP is, as the original thread poster said, “a legend” because they used their job to not only get revenge but indirectly saved people (the other two location workers) jobs for a set time period. Downsizing is always going to screw over innocent people. There really is no issue using that and personal experience to ensure that the affected people are, mostly, corrupt.

Even if the customer clearly does not have a single solitary clue or anything is, the entitled person will still somehow get the idea that they must work there despite the fact that their attire looks nowhere near the same as that stores usual uniform.

So no it's not OP's responsible to make sure the parents are early, they are adults and if an 18 yr old, lazy college student can do it so can they. Not the jerk.

Let alone he did it and they wasn't even ready at all. They remind me to my idiot mother who didn't want to go to the prom of my sister only because my sister was going on car with her then bf (now ex). My dad for the 1st time has to tell her how much of a jerk she was because she literally thought was a great idea to act like a spoiled child for this. My mother didn't like it a bit, but she enter in reason because she was truly behaving like a spoiling child for not getting what she wants. A behaviour i despised from her a lot.

Pokemon go gets so much flak anymore? Why? Because you get to play a game while getting some exercise? Too cutesy? I got my kids into it so we can go for walks together. It's great, when the weather is nice. Watching them gett excited about seeing and catching a pokemon is awesome. Fuck the haters. Going to disagree with you on the last one. She was never asked to make sure about her parents. It's not her responsibility in the 1st place. They are grown ass adults they should be able to function in this capacity. If anything the sister should have made a special invite JUST FOR the parents that stated the wedding was 1 hour earlier that what it really was. She knew their habit, she could've taken measures.
