It's not actually hard to learn the entire circuit. The main problem is that this particular version is so far from being accurate, and of such low quality in track details that it's very easy to forget exactly where you are. This is it, Jimmy. This is the exact kind of mad content I subscribed to see. Never stop never stopping.
For the motorcycle clips you showed, I am amazed that you didn't show any of the moto's going over the "jumps" on circuit.
It's fantastic that someone has done the track and it must have taken a lot of work. But do also have a look at the rf2 version as there is more detail making it (slightly) easier to learn. Cars also did race here in the TT (for cars) in the early 20s. There were even some attempts to bring car racing back in the 60s.
@barath4545
Жыл бұрын
Tbh they could easily bring back cars in a TT format with a minute between each car, as overtaking without losing time is very hard. Or they could do the lap in "gates" as in split the lap into 3-4 min TT pieces, so a whole lap isn't ruining by a car crash that blocks the entire road for hours. Just do it in WRC cars or even Formula cars made for hillclimbs (ie with way more suspension than F1/F2 cars)
@Dethmeister

Yeah, it's cool that someone has made a mod of this track for AC but hopefully it's an early version of a work in progress because visually it looks bad. I've seen GPLaps driving the RF2 version and it looks really nice.

@@barath4545 That would be cool. Maybe they don't because cars would do a lot more damage to walls, fences, houses and pubs than bikes do. Or the bike event is already a lot of work and disruption for the island.

@TheDevilWAH

I would love to be inside his mind, sign of a good racer who can keep the track in there head while concentrating on other stuff. I played SIm for years and still have to "relearn" a track if i haven't played it for a few months. Some people just have that mine
I once worked with a guy who's friend rode at the TT a few times. He crashed at that bridge jump. It was barely able to walk and couldn't lift himself off the seat he sat on nearly two years later. Still spoke about wanting to get back on the bike. Those boys are no joke. All for the love and the passion of the race. Zero fucks given for themselves.
My dad has done the Manx TT which is on the same course but for new comers. He placed 6th in the 600's starting from 96th on the road. In the wet on intermediate tyres and with no steering damper as it snapped on lap one going into the gooseneck hairpin (just before the top mountain section) after he hit a curb passing a slower rider. Sounds cliché but the dude is my hero. Love you dad
❤ love jimmer he’s came so far
This Ferarri mod is absolutely insane. Thanks for showing it off in the previous video. Driving the bonkers S spec(?) with maximum output in the original monza is an insane challenge. The bumps alone make it so hard to handle. And the banking one wrong twitch and you've yeeted yourself off the planet.
Great video Jimmy, and yeah mad respect to the TT riders. Two examples really bring it home to me, just how close to the edge they really ride: - Rider talking about how he used to judge a particular corner by brushing his helmet against the hedge on the inner corner, until he happened to visit that corner on foot and discovered that the inner corner was actually just ivy covering a stone wall. - Rider doing a lap with a GoPro mounted on top of his helmet, knocked the camera off on a stone wall while going around a corner like that Absolutely mad.

I'm honestly just tuning my controls so far with the first time trial your given access to and it's so good. I wish I got the game sooner.
Next stream, are you doing a lap around here in the Benz Motorwagen or grinding for a mistake-free record lap? :) Respect to the person who made that map for the game. Also respect to the game for being able to play that map, it must be humongous. Imagine someone laser scanned the entire thing..
@barath4545
Жыл бұрын
> Imagine someone laser scanned the entire thing. Considering the amount of money in racing, this is really just a matter of a rich guy saying "do it!" If we assume licensing will be cheap (cause it would promote the TT), then a $1000 Lidar + 2 days dedicated to the task (ie 2 days using the track for only this, during the TT fortnight ofc) will probably cost $10,000 a day. So for $25,000 ex salary and travel to the Isle of Man, should cover it.

@6:40 "the concentration required for this is nuts, how do the riders learn this?". Yup, I have the TT game for PC and it's exhausting. Every rider says the same when interviewed. I am guessing it's the big differentiator: all the riders in the top 10 are similarly skilled but the differentiator is the mental power.
The TT Riders are the sort of people who could stare down the special forces and not blink. Absolutely no fear whatsoever. They’re certifiably insane. Both in terms of talent, and by being unhinged.

This really just goes to show how fucking insanely well maintained the F1 circuits are. And most race tracks in general. Because this is a public road that they also try to keep in very good condition because of the TT, but even so, there’s still parts that are bumpy and uneven in spots because at the end of the day it’s a road. Not a track.

Where did you get the track, I've been looking for it for ages?
Also it is the WORST when you fail the hairpin section because you do a whole lap and you get 1% overconfident and die in the Shadow Realm Or worse You stop for the hairpin, have to make a 5 point turn and back into your demise (I totally haven't done this)

My favorite TT video is "TT Lap Guide with Milky Quayle" which is a full lap commentated by 'Milky' (pro TT rider) showing the immense knowledge of the course, which is not just the corners but breaking points, curbs, negative camber corners, jumps, road imperfections, bumps, hedges, wheelies, sewer grates and stone walls. He mentions to watch out for the wall at 4:25, the one he bumped his shoulder into and crashed. Luckily he survived but many people die on the course, on average 2 people each year. And remember, slow in - fast out!
I’ve got to try this as well. Looks impossible 😂
I love the v10s but hate the body, is there a way to swap the engine into a 1970s GP body?
