It's also less noticeable when you have split ends when your hair is as long as hers. Also, baby the crap out of your hair. Brush from the bottom and work your way up. If you feel tugging or hear that crunching noise whilst brushing your hair, that's it breaking. I'm trying to grow mine out as well. Avoid as much friction as possible. Hair products, like shampoo and conditioner play a major contributor as well. And hair oils! From mid shaft down, after your hair has been towel dried and is not sopping wet. Good luck! ☺️ x

I've been cutting and coloring my own hair for 8 years mostly because I can't afford to go to a hairdresser. I cut my hair much differently than this, but I was never satisfied with my technique.. This is so far the best video that I have found that cuts hair that is almost one length as is my own. Great video and will be cutting my hair this way next time. Box dye isn't good tho. I've heard of salons who don't even take people (as in bleaching/colouring their hair) who have used like directions or some other at home colour because it can turn out like green when trying to fix it

Only some box dyes are problematic, like Schwartzkopf XXL with the "water resistance", it's silicone. If you buy box dyes with no ammonia it's basically the same stuff stylists use, a colour creme and a developer. Stylists can tailor the colour to be used with either 10 vol or 20 vol developer, when box dyes are "one size fits all" kinda deal, so you might end up using bigger vol developer when it is not necessary. Cutting can be as simple as getting clippers and going for it. Only rule is not to use dull scissors. With hair care there are many drugstore brands nowadays that don't use parabens, silicons and sulphates.

I’ve now cut my hair twice following your videos and I always love how it turns out! I’ve struggled with how bad my hair always turns out at salons so I just never went. I finally found a hair dresser I loved and then we moved away 🙄. Thank you for helping me have amazing hair again!

Sarah Denney same. I use to pay like 100-500 dollars to get my hair done and I'd be unhappy afterward. And I do it on my own now and I'm much happier.

You were my inspo to start doing my own hair 3 years ago and these days I love my hair length! Still learning to perfect my colour but I agree with you totally, I much prefer the control I have over how the hair looks now versus the hack job hairdressers used to do to my hair!

Try to always sleep in tight braids! I've been doing it for the past year and it really helped my hair grow. For silky hair I recommend massaging in mustard/coconut/almond oil, leaving it in for two hours (even over night, the longer the better), and then washing it out (really take your time to massage shampoo to take out the oil, I recommend shampooing twice- also, don't be afraid seeing hair fall out when doing so, it's normal). You really notice a difference if you do it once a week, my hair becomes silkier and more voluminous.

My hair is just as long people think I use extensions My grandmother taught me from a young age to know how to take care of my hair with hair masks, not to use too much heat in my hair and make braids at night because she said that at night the hair grows faster and the braids help. Carly i love you so much! i actually started cutting my hair myself and it is good! and i save money as well :). I started last year and now i cut them once a half year. I also agree that ceratin treetment helps to grow your hair. Now i have middle leng hair. i had that length before but they wasn't as healthy as it is now. I have mentioned multiple times that I got a really bad haircut freshman year. My hair was SO long before then. It never grew back kept breaking off and wouldn't grow past my boobs. It ONLY started to grow about 3-4 years ago once I started doing the keratins. So it took 4 years to grow past my boobs. over a decade to figure out how to grow it back. 🙄

Thanks girl! I had watched this in the past but wasn't ready to take that leap of cutting my own hair. Now I'm so over making appts for a cut I was ready to try this an it turned out perfect and saved me money.
