Question: Would you guys really like me to make a denim jacket like this available? I did this jacket just for fun as a personal one-off (not for sale), but I've gotten loads messages and e-mails asking to buy the jacket. Not entirely sure where to start, but I can try looking into getting denim jackets made with the design screen-printed onto the back if you guys are really interested!

What you mean using the textil marker is cheating??? It's not. You are an artist and you have a wide variety of different products to help your process. Please being artist is already hard let's be easy on ourselves with such a nonsense... Btw loved the result. I also did something on denim and the white layer underneath it was definitely helpful. And I also ended up using black textil marker because oh boy...
@kelogsloops

True! That is a pretty bad mind-set now that you mention it. I think I just got the idea stuck in my head that it was a challenge and so HAD to be done entirely in acrylic

He said it's supposed to be some kind of a challenge to do the whole painting with the paint only, so it's understandable if he feels like cheating. It's a little bit rude to call him being nonsense for that.
@LucilleFlowerFairy
4 жыл бұрын
Indeed! If you think that strategy works for you, then it doesn't matter. Just because it's faster and easier, doesn't mean that it is cheating. Why does everything have to be difficult and slow? You just came up with a handy strategy and you should be proud of that!
Painting a white layer actually makes the paints stand out, I've learnt that by experience and by experiment. I'm so glad I watched this because I can now compare with the Painting on Denim tutorials I uploaded on my channel
I hope you know how freaking talented you are😂 Edit: I want to make something clear... I never meant to degrade him by saying that he is "Talented" it was simply a compliment. I am an artist myself and I have been drawing for 6 years and I understand it takes alot of practice to improve your "Talent." I'm sorry if I offended any of you. :)

@@idk_dude_whats_a_name i think in doing almost *anything* the person needs talent. the thing about talents is that the person could be the most "talented" person in the world, but they would never know that unless they actively worked and practiced to help that talent. unfortunately, sometimes hard work just doesnt cut it, and practicing so much will only get people so far. my source for saying this is piano students. they can study and practice and practice and practice, but if they are just unable to do it, then they'll be able to learn the pieces and play them, but they'll never compare to the people with the talent that has been nurtured. I do understand what you mean about the word talented though. no disrespect here, im just an artist who really doesnt mind the word talented, i'm not sure about other artists, but that's just me. i don't mind it because talent is nothing without practice. i'm glad you feel this way though, and appreciate the hard work of artists :)

I love the fox and bird friendship the reason is because me and my friend are kinda like them in a way I’m the fox that wants to always stay in her bubble and my friend is the bird she wants to explore life how she wants to she’s kinda my inspiration for my art
Wow that jacket is so damn beautiful man!!!! So nice Always waiting for your viedoes
Really appreciate the fact that you share your process so genuinely. Its always interesting to see how someone else’s brain ticks. You’re great, love your work. Big ups homie.
The painting is so good! Especially considering how rough the canvas, denim, is! Loved the process :)
I love the design on the jacket. It's so beautiful . . . I'm in awe of your skill. So awesome.
i was so bored while drawing looking for something to watch anD THEN KELOOOOOOOOOOOG i screamed so excited i love your videos buddy i should go and watch now XD
5:20 this is exactly what i felt when i switched from acrylic to watercolor lol 😂 definitely going to try this one out, maybe jazz it up with some embroidery too
"I'm actually pretty surprised how cool this turned out." HOW? This looks amazing! :D
This is so inspiring. Thank you for sharing with us lay people your beautiful world of art!
Denim jackets are the funnest thing to personalize! I’ve decorated my own with a bunch of different patches
This is a very great idea 👍🏻👍🏻 and your painting made the jacket more amazing would love to wear that😍
First: Beautiful, and I haven't even finished the video yet! Second: In case no one has mentioned, ironing the shiny side of freezer paper to the wrong side of your denim will help stabilize the fabric for both drawing and painting. Stiffens it so it doesn't wiggle around so much. Third: When finished, pull off freezer paper, put a cloth or paper on top of paint, heat set with iron. Paint kind of sinks into fabric and lasts longer. Live long and prosper!
“Im so used to painting watercolor on paper” Finally an artist I can relate to! I use watercolor all the time, and copic/caliart/ohuhu alcohol markers. So in advanced art when we have to paint with acrylics, it’s really hard for me and i’m trying to get better but watercolor is definitely one of my strongest mediums
Can I just say I loove the jacket and I love how much effort you put into what you do including the editing! Also your voice is really soothing
Loving everything about this! The results and your mentality are gold 💕
This made me want to paint on my denim clothes too. but I CAN’T DRAW NOR PAINT! 😭💔

Love how this turned out

I was wanting to try it for a while but since most of the videos always made it look so easy I was afraid cause usually when that's the case I end up screwing up heavily - your honest was the refreshing view I needed to think about it with more grounded expectations.

i got emotional watching this. Of course it's a beautiful painting, but i was also touched by the chill, serene aurea of the whole video, and the soft voice-over, and the girl casually stepping in to eventually try the jacket out. Hi! It turned out sooo good!! You're very talented I was wondering whether you've already washed the jacket and if you have, how was your painting affected?
I WAITED FOR THIS! you're so awesome, my mind is blown all over again 👌 much love from germany ❤️
It's so interesting to hear another perspective. When I switched from acrylic to watercolor I struggled with line work as well but just the opposite. Acrylic stayed where I put it as where watercolor has a mind of it's own. It took practice getting the right amount of water/color ratio onto paper and not having my lines bleed. It's funny how we get so used to a medium. I really love the final out come and enjoyed seeing your process and growth along the way :) Thank you for sharing.

You may want to try ironing on freezer paper on the inside of the jacket to stabilize the fabric and use fabric chalk pencil for outlines. I use the So Soft fabric paint that sinks into the fabric and is easy to work with. The freezer paper just peels rite off and I iron on the wrong side of the fabric when finished to set the paint. Enjoy the process.
Man I really wanna know the tittle of the music in the end, please someone help me :D

This is fantastic, minus one small thing. It is not “cheating” to use a tool for art that is designed for a specific purpose! That’s like saying it is cheating to use watercolor paper, instead of painting on regular paper, when watercolor paper works better. There is no cheating if an artist is choosing their own tools for their own purpose. I just don’t want anyone to think they shouldn’t use a particular tool for fear of “cheating.” Other than that, everything in this video is fantastic. Please, keep up the great work and the great job you do sharing it. Thanks!
