    I also forgot to mention something v important 😬🙈 I elevated her crib with 2 towels folded underneath on one side (the side where her head would go) it only elevated that side about 1-2 inch but it made so much difference! That way when she did sleep flat on her back her head was slightly higher than her legs which means her food has an easier time staying down ❤️

    These are def great tips for mild reflux which many infants have but there’s a difference between reflux and GERD if you suspect your child has GERD I’d definitely recommend bringing it up to your pediatrician. My daughter has GERD and we tried all these methods prior to bringing it up to the doctor because nothing mentioned worked and her condition continued to deteriorate. She’d choke on food, she was gagging, she was vomiting, she would scream in pain while arching her back mid bottle and after eating and eventually began refusing food and holding her breath to prevent acid from going down her throat, her GERD had progressed to esophagitis and she was in major pain so definitely if you think your baby has GERD and not just normal reflux go to a doctor and don’t waste time with things that won’t work all while your baby is struggling,

    This video was great! How and what did your baby sleep on after the boppy lounger? My son (2months) has reflux and prefers to sleep on me. He does not like to lay flat. We do use a snuggle me lounger but he will not sleep in it all night because of the reflux. I need help with another plan so I can start sleeping in my bed again.

  • @JanaeCrawford

    @JanaeCrawford

    Жыл бұрын

    Thank you ❤️ I put a towel in her crib, folded in ‘3’ under her crib mattress only on one side so it slightly elevated her without it being dangerous. It was about an inch so nothing drastic but it definitely helped. I also used the snuggle me lounger in our bed once her reflux was resolved and that worked great until she grew out of it, then just slept next to me in bed, until I sleep trained her ☺️❤️ Ohh another tip you could try (I did this as well) elevate the snuggle me lounger with a towel or blanket folded underneath it on one side, again, don’t fold it so much that it’s bulky and lifts it up drastically, even folded in half or in thirds.

    My baby is not on the schedule set by the hospital. She is fed on demand and I do not wake her for feeds. She has reflux and sometimes she sleeps after benge feeding me holding her upright and on her belly walking her around she is almost 2 months. She was 5.11 at birth 6lb 2oz at 3 weeks and I'm thinking now she isn't too much bigger. I agree no laying flat. Hell you can't lay them flat. I'm gonna buy the babouch pillow for acid reflux. It's 150$ but imma buy it idc if it helps her. And we need sleep. Also the left side bc of how the stomache sits with their head up. It's so much extra work. And I have a 2 year old. He now hates her bc I always holding her. I feel bad idk. I still give him attention and tickle and play with him.

I also started feeding her at intervals. So she takes 100ml and I would feed her 20ml and burp until she was done and it also helped a little. It still bothers her but atleast she is not choking or gagging or holding her breath to stop herself from vomiting

    Ooof. I could say a lot about this topic haha. Often times “natural” things aren’t recommended by most doctors because they say they haven’t been studied or tested enough. However, what doctors recommend are usually 10x worse for health and can cause a bunch of other health complications. Like with anything, like trying a new food, I recommend using your discernment on wether or not you feel comfortable giving it to them and just monitor your baby closely for any reaction they could have ❤️

    First time dad here awake at 4am scared to go to sleep my son seems so uncomfortable when laid down. grunting, tossing his arms and legs, really just seems bloated I’ve spoken with the pediatrician about it as well as drs in the ER they insist it’s normal, seems like he’s choking on his spit up too, he literally turns pitch red,it’s terrifying. I’m scared to hold him in my arms all night in case I fall asleep I don’t want too drop him. my fiancé is really not a “fight your sleep kind of person , I refuse to sleep, he is is just short of a month and a half your tips are great and most I’ve read online and heard from the pediatrician, I’ve tried them all ,right now I’m trying gas relief drops which seem to work for a short period of time I’m literally burnt from researching everything and trying it ALL which “baby boppy” pillow did you use? I know they says it’s unsafe but even if I use it while I’m up all day and night it would seem safer than the bouncer, swing, chair that I’ve also tried, don’t want him to cut his air off without being able to hold his head up, I’ve had to supplement with formula, which right now I’m trying infamil gentle ease, hasn’t really been long enough to see if it’s working(though he still seems so restless) by the time I can seem to get him even a tiny bit comfortable it’s already feeding time again, I also can’t seem to find any videos showing what a NORMAL spit up looks like verse my sons that look so violent, it’s not a large amount but he chokes on it sometimes it’s no milk and all and looks like spit it’s terrifying if anyone can share any tips or maybe has any advice on what to say to the pediatrician, I finally got some of it recorded to show her. I really hope she can take it a little more serious at our next appointment, I saw one of the comments here saying the drs aren’t at home with us parents which is so true !!!

    I heard there is a link between a baby not getting enough food in the beginning days of life and acid reflux. So if you choose to breast-feed and we’re not producing enough, it starts an over supply of acid for the baby

    Go to the doctor. Ask for imaging and include gastro and swallow study. If your little one does have reflux they can give him/her medicine to help.

    Thanks for the above: Have a question: It is difficult to comprehend what should be done when a baby constantly vomits while lying on her back: it seems that there is no solution to the problem; more and more individuals are experiencing this. what is correct and incorrect; am quite puzzled; looked everywhere for assistance: We are compelled to burp the babe halfway through feeding: Two, we realized that the only method to prevent a baby from having reflux or vomitting is to lie her on her side while using a soft pillow (balance) Otherwise, the infant vomits very constantly, and it is more worse while they are battling to breathe. Confused!!!!!!!!!!! Any advise? Thanks

    I highly recommend talking with your pediatrician because every baby is different. For my second baby I had 6 months ago, she would throw up Everytime I laid her down on her back no matter what and would be gagging/choking in the night from it and it scared me so bad. It wasn’t until I started having her sleep elevated during the daytime in her swing, or in her boppy lounger or crib on her side, and stomach (so I could keep a close eye on her) that it eased up and eventually stopped. So if you can keep an eye on her, I definitely recommend never laying flat on back if they have bad reflux/vomiting. Hope your baby gets better soon ❤️

    Our 6 weeks old daughter has crazy pain now for 5 weeks from bloatings. Two times to hospital, once removed gas from her *** with a "pipe", several times to doc. Using 7 different types of medicine already and got plenty of tipps from "professional well payed nurses and midwifes". No joke, one of them suggessted switiching of lights at night, if our daughter is not falling asleep. I replied, I have no clue wherelse to put my spotlight, she was not laughing about it. In the end just nothing... It seems like they just read from their books they got from their studyings, but have no idea about babys... (actually humanity thinks about flying to mars and has no idea about how to handle their own babies or make them have no pain). This crazy "tiger in tree" stuff was the last "amazing tipp which helps 100%" :D :D Nope, it doesn't. So every night, we have our daugher crying for several hours. Today it started at 3PM, she finally fell asleep at around 9PM. Yes, 6 hours of crying, shouting, feeding, walking her... And now with your video, I must say it was the first REAL tipps for us and we will try them out. Thank you very much for your help, will let you know about it. Greetings

    So one my twins is very very hard to feed. They were 2 months early and she routinely only will eat 75% of her food and its at a higher calorie because she would not gain enough weight. I think in a one week time frame she only gained like 3 ounces. Whats crazy was she ate fine in the NICU with us but once she got home it has been a train wreck. We have tried everything. Burping we cant get out, we feed her upright. She spits a lot while she eats. Idk we cant get her to eat and its driving us crazy and it is getting worse now that she has to go to daycare and im pretty sure she is eating less for them. What is even worse is the twins were only 1lb difference when they came home and now they are 1.8lb difference. Im scared guys and if i could i would stay home with them but we cant afford for my wife or myself to quit.

    Doesn't sound like she had reflux as only happened in the evening! Babies cluster feed of an evening and trying to feed more can help. Also all babies should be winded even breastfed babies! And true reflux babies should be held still upright for 30 mins after each feed and winded less. Most babies also like to eat little and often and you should follow the cues from the baby!
