I CROCHETED EVERY MORNING for 30 DAYS and it CHANGED my LIFE

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I crocheted every morning for 30 days and it changed my life. Creating a morning routine that includes crochet has made my life so much better in many different ways. #crochet
In the hustle and bustle of our modern lives, it's often challenging to find moments of calm and creativity. We all need an escape from the daily grind, a way to relax and engage our minds in a peaceful, fulfilling activity.
For me, that escape came in the form of crocheting. What began as a simple experiment turned into a life-changing journey. In this blog post, I'll share how crocheting every morning for 30 days transformed my life.

I am retired so I’m in my happy place all day. I knit, crochet and machine embroider any time during the day. But you are so right, I have so much more clarity in the morning. Thanks for these wonderful videos, they are very inspiring.

I’m a retired teacher turned homeschool mom. I enjoy the slower mornings and crochet in the morning while listening to some of my favorite KZreadrs (usually biblical teachings) and in the evening after dinner. My problem is that sometimes I don’t want to stop crocheting and I am either getting a late start on homeschool lessons with my 14 year old or going to bed really late! 😝 self- discipline is hard!

Between work and going back to college for my bachelor’s degree as an adult learner, crochet keeps me sane! It is my happy place and it relaxes me. I taught myself at the beginning of the pandemic and I wish I had started crocheting years ago. I carry a project with me to work and and crochet for a bit before I go into the building!

I'm a combo crocheter....but then, my project for this year was to make a blanket for every one in our families for Christmas. I made 11 blankets. My goal was to be finished by Halloween so that the holidays would be free of the stress of finishing up the last one on Christmas eve, LOL. I'm happy to report that I completed the last one 3 weeks early, so yes, I was crocheting every spare moment outside of my full time job. And I'm so happy that I did. As I was finishing that project, work announced that we'd have a charity event for our local homeless shelter for the holidays. I was able to make 9 hats for that collection that was picked up last Tuesday. I'm tickled pink to know those recipients will be kept a little warmer just as our winter weather is beginning (It snowed on Halloween here in Michigan). I can attest to the creativity and productivity being higher in the morning for me, too, as compared to the evenings, after my brain has been hard at work all day.

That mouse is too cute. Since I work full time I cant really crochet in the mornings, but I sometimes will bring a project to work with me and work on it during my lunch break. Then when I get home I take a min and then get back into doing some other projects. On my days off I definitely crochet in the morning, once I let the dog out, feed the pets, make a tea or a coffee, then sit down and have a nice morning session. If the weather is bad out I will pretty much stay inside all day and crochet, taking little breaks and just being all cozy.

I'm disabled, so retirement a few years early. I get up at least by 8. Do things around the house. I try to stitch by 9, but if not, I do a small project in the TV room as I watch my soaps. Then maybe off and on during the day. By evening I will pull out a c2c graphgan or a bitter project and try to crochet for several hours. If my hands are tired or I can't focus, I will roll up bobbins of yarn or plan out my next project and get it ready.

As a mom to a 1 year old crazy girl, I’m a middle of the night crocheter. I used to crochet throughout the entire day but I realized it wasn’t good for my or my baby… she would want attention, and I would stress out that I couldn’t ever crochet because she wanted to play all the time. I wanted to be attentive to my daughter and not have my mind wrapped around something else while giving her what she wants and needs. I contemplated giving up crochet for a while, but eventually I was like “why don’t I just do it while she’s asleep?” And it’s changed my life. Yes, I’m extra tired in the mornings, but it’s worth it to be able to give my baby the attention she needs and also be able to fill my cup.

This video came at the perfect time! I was just thinking about my morning routine this morning, which doesn't really excist at the moment due to a weird week and a vacation the week before. A while ago I started reading for 15 minutes in the morning, and I really want to incorporate that again, because it didn't really happen the last weeks and I feel that my brain loves reading the most in the morning. I'm just to tired to read before going to bed.😅 I think I'm gonna start adding 20 minutes of sock knitting in the morning. I have a couple of socks I'm so exicted to make, but also have some other garment wips and plans, so the socks don't get a lot of work. Because during my knitting time in the day and evening, those garments get my attention. Especially with the colder weather, those big garments are great on my lap. And I don't sit in the same place every morning, so socks are great and portable for that😂 And I get the bedmaking thing, I'm the same. But from the video I couldn't see if you let air out your bed. I alsways learned to wait at least 30 minutes with the window open before making your bed and adding the extra cushions etc. So maybe making the bed after the 30 minutes of crocheting?😊

I am a combo, but have days, even weeks at a time when I can't work it in at all. I first got into crocheting after I was injured in the line of duty. I ended up going down a dark hole when the injury left me disabled. Over time, my physical ability continued and continues to decrease. I now have a dehabilitating nerve disease, CRPS. Being a former single mom of 3, working 60 to 80 hours a week to support my kids alone, plus very active with my kids and doing everything myself, it was a heck of a blow. Going from the title of law enforcement/corrections and sub teacher, to disabled is pretty bad. Especially with how others react or treat me because I am disabled, have a hard time walking, ect... Crocheting blankets helped me some. To sum it up, 2 christmas's ago, i stumbled on a pokemon amigurumi book. I purchased it as a Christmas gift for my soon to be daughter in law, plus yarn, stuffing, ect. I had introduced her to crocheting a few months before and she loves pokemon. Anyway, she lost interest, so last year I ordered the book for myself. I began making the pokemon and have branched on to making stuffies and other amigurumi. Honestly, it has done a lot for me as I struggle with my body, physical ability, emotional toll, ect... Unlike blankets that were becoming too difficult for me to continue, amigurumi is just what I need. The fact that I can't get them finished before someone stakes a claim to my current one does so much for me mentally that I can't even put in words. It also slows the spread of CRPS to the parts of my body crocheting is keeping active. I am hoping to get to the point of eventually setting up a booth at some of our festivals, have my sons set it up and 1 help run it, to earn some extra money to help and hopefully start making some accommodations that I really need to my home. Sorry for babbling, just wanted to say I am going to follow this advice, as I love my crocheting time and just haven't had much time for it lately. I'll just set my alarm 30 minutes earlier just to do this. Thank you, as I believe this is just what I need.

I need to take medicine first thing in the morning. That part is easy, but then I have to wait about an hour before eating. I usually have things to do but I noticed (repeatedly) that it was hard to wait. I became quite stress waiting the hour out --cheated often -- which affected the rest of my day. I found by working on knit or crochet, the hour flew by. So, I do a few other things, in the morning, and then pick-up my project...it is about 30min of crochet or knit. I agree, it has improved my day.

Thanks for your reply :-) this may be oversharing but in September I lost my husband and then in October I lost my brother whom I was very close with and now I am trying to get a procedure to fix two compression fractures in my low back. Needless to say crochet has truly helped me get through the extended hours sitting on ice and focusing on it instead of the overwhelming grief. I am thankful everyday for KZreadrs so positive like you as well as my family around me. God bless you and your family XOXO Ang

On the weekends, I'm a "crochet any time of day I dang well please" crocheter. I'll set myself up with KZread videos and sit there for hours, crocheting/taking breaks. The weekdays, because I work, I leave it till I get home, so it's a late afternoon/evening thing. One, I don't want to wake up earlier, and two, I'd get too into a project and be late for work if I tried crocheting in the mornings on work days, lol!

I keep all of my supplies in my living room next to my spot on the sofa, I start after my first cup of coffee and go until I need a break. I'll do chores in between, then continue. This is my routine on my days off from work, unless I have errands. But starting in the morning has been amazing, and I make so much more progress on my projects. The added bonus is that my hands are fresh and ready to go in the morning. I have some hand pain, so starting fresh in the morning allows me to get more done. ❤

Good morning!! I am definitely a morning person. Yes whatever I need to get done isn’t done by say 2 o’clock you just won’t get done. I am retired, so my time is pretty much my own. Actually, I CROCHET at all times of the day, but always start my day with some crochet or knitting. I keep a small project in my bed. I love all the little critters you so lovingly create. They are so cute, and so sweet, and so much fun that they always make me smile. It’s wonderful to see your enthusiasm for the little guys. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us as, as well as your tips and other information. I especially enjoy hearing you talk about the various crochet hooks, and what you like, or dislike about each one. I love my tulips. And my clovers, the best. I have four oddessys, but I don’t seem to use them very much. That’s probably because I have child size. Hands in the odyssey hooks are pretty big. But, they really are nice. Wishing you a wonderful new year… I hope all of your planning is worth it. I am a very solid.INFP on the Myers Briggs personality disorder, so planning is something I’m not really very good at. I always forget. Oh well, to each his own.❤❤❤

I believe what you are talking about when you refer to a morning routine is called “habit stacking!” My friend was teasing me recently about how I always crochet when I wake up while I drink my coffee and have breakfast. I always have to have a project that is working out before I go to bed so I can crochet in the morning without worry. Or sometimes I save a crochet issue for the morning for a rested brain.

And one of the best things about that for me is being able to simply wake up and reach for my knitting that I keep right next to my bed and knit EVERY SINGLE MORNING and not worrying about waking anyone up! I am still working in the corporate world. But I still set my alarm early enough (5:15 AM 😮!) every day so I do have a few minutes to knit before getting ready for the work day because it DOES help my stress and sense of accomplishment for the rest of the day. Self discipline has always been a struggle for me, I could get everything done that was needed but there was not much joy or fun while I did it. After 2 months of this I find that I have less stress and my creativity is back. Crocheting has always given me joy and crocheting everyday makes my heart sing. I'm also retired. I like making goals for myself and often they are just small challenges. My goal/challenge this fall and winter.. Is to crochet or knit outdoors most days. No rainy or snowy days .. because my work and pattern will get wet. And if it is windy.. it will be too uncomfortable. I have my wool socks. My wool sweater. My jacket .. fingerless gloves.. and quilt.. should I need it. Best way to achieve a goal is to be prepared. And I am. Also my deck is on the south side of my home and is sheltered . So far there has only been 3 or 4 days I haven't been out. .. I often stay outside for 3 or 4 hours It is good for getting away from the stresses of life that one has no control of.

Because of my autoimmune issues I can't crochet longer than 2hrs at a time without my arms flaring up. I really enjoyed this video!

I watched a video a while ago by Admiral William H McRaven giving a commencement or graduation speech talking abut if you have a challenging day, and you feel like you didnt accomplish anything at least you have a bed thats made at the end of the day.

Thank you Elise, for giving me permission for some crotchet time in the morning! I often get the urge and have ideas in the morning but feel that it is a guilty pleasure and push the thought aside. I was brought up to think that you get your work done and then you can ‘play’ but then run out of energy, time or focus for the thing I would otherwise enjoy. While ‘work first play later’ may have merit to some extent, just taking 30 minutes with a cuppa when I would otherwise be waking up and struggling to get motivated is almost guilt free😁. Thank you so much for this liberating permission - this is one thing I think I can do for myself without too much self-recrimination👍

I’ve been crocheting for almost 53 years. I have other hobbies but crocheting is my passion. Crocheting has literally kept me sane through some of the toughest times in my life. I love it.

Loved this video. This is something I have been doing for some time. I am an early morning riser (6am) so I make my morning coffee and sit with my crochet project and work for an hour or so before doing anything else. It's my morning meditation. My memory, concentration, and energy levels are best in the morning. By evening Im too tired. What I also love about crocheting early morning is the neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful. I find it easier to get into the creative zone when there is no noise or interruption. Crochet has been amazing for my mental health and anxiety. It's a form of therapy for me.

I am a morning person and love getting up, making coffee and picking up my crochet project. Problem is sometimes I sit here for 2-3 hrrs. I lie the idea of just 30 minutes so I can get up and get moving with my day! Thank you
