Portuguese flagship just require their culture.

Polynesian Culture has a Naval Doctrine for +50% colonial range, so for those who want to be super sweaty about getting this achievements that culture is probably the way to go

I'm glad that they fixed the achievement. As you can see from the map of required provinces at the start, it originally had the wrong province for San Francisco, it required the province just south of it. I like to think the report I made about it after I got the achievement is why they noticed and fixed it.

25:57 for anyone who doesnt rush an achievement you can reduce the cost by half if you jsut imprlve the relation to that nation enough

The way settler chance works is by giving you on average 3 colonists per 1 settler chance yearly in provinces with a colonist. Early in the game you have like 30 colonial growth but also around 25 settler chance which is 75 extra colonial growth. This makes colonies without colonists not very worth it because youll pay like 700 ducats over 15 for 1 province. The 20% settler chance you took in your ideas is really strong since its practically 60 colonial growth which is about as big as the portugal age bonus. For reference your next idea "+20 colonial growth" is 3 times weaker than the settler increase

@d4s0n282 you did them wrong then. 1 production efficiency gives 0.2% settler chance so if you are looking for max colonial growth then settler chance is much better. It gives 1 settler chance for every... well 1 settler chance

Hey Zlewikk, really like the run. I was thinking of doing this run myself in the near future as well, but your run made me also do it. I also really like the frequency with which you are producing these achievement videos :) Next to that, I wanted to give some tips for some people who might also want to do this run. - You can get polynesian culture for +50% colonial range and the ability to recruit explorers. - You can get ignore coring distance which is very nice in this case. - Combined with the ignore coring distance, there is a diplomatic ability which allows you to form claims on any trade company region, meaning you can claim the necessary provinces and get an easy cb without needing to charter. Good luck to those who want to also try for the achievement!

@Zlewikk did you know that you can improve the modifier on if a nation charters you a province by improving relations, allying and with trust? I liked to do that in my netherlands run as you just improve with the nations, ally them for a day and get the trade centers in malakka way cheaper... And if it is still not enough you can also curry favours for trust. Makes the peaceful playstyle even easier!

I think i will do this with just man as a nation that can raid coasts.

If you choose Portuguese culture then you can use the Portuguese +50% colonial range for exploration (if you want to vassalize and the expand through s country nocbing them), And also specially to use the religious orders which are free dev and bonuses for really cheap mana, really useful the +10% trade value one

You mean flagship bonus? This one is locked to Portugal tag. Dutch culture has a doctrine for +25%

Hey z but the white condottiere that you are still missing maybe bugged : i sold merc to a nation and then war but still not got it

I love this series. Also why did you delete your heavys instead of selling, you could easily have made 240 to 300 ducats from them? In the early years every nation has money and is under force limit, so they always buy.

You can see Insonesia at the start because of te anatolian culture you choose

You can activate a button that makes a navy go into harbor, when you are at war. This is great in the early game. You should only disable that, when fighting on a completely different part of the world or a weak enemy.

What you could have done to keep your gov reform is have scottish culture and then form scotland, you would at least get scottish missions then. Scotland doesn't change your gov reform when you form them, and if you're an empire you would have cultural unity anyway

20:40 You could've skipped South America entirely if you colonized 1 or 2 provinces through Panama-Nicaragua area to get to California EDIT: I'm surprised you waited until you were most of the way to Peru to go through Guatemala (26:26)

Doesnt hange anything. The thing was that in both cases the plan would be to colonise 2 provinces. It's like a year difference anyway since we needed japan province as well I thought it would take more tome to get Japan so I did not rush pacific that much

you should improve with nations you plan to charter. Makes it cheaper right?

I hate when natives ruin my colonies. I remember one game where there were 2 last coastal provinces to colonize in Canada and I couldn't do it, becasue the natives kept migraring between them constantly, faster than my colonist could get there.

This is why you should always ask annex migratory tribe and do not click the province . In the first peace deal you clear them with the simple click they just respawn

Dutch special ships (Indiamen light ships) are also better imo especially for this run (buffed light ships that also make transports obsolete and allows you to replace them with even more lightships)

Wait you can form a nation an still get the achievement? Sounds broken. You can build a country with huge amounts of land and only negative ideas than become England and lose all the negative ideas.
