Loved this video. Love almost everything with my Ayisien culture. Only thing I would add is to include the Haitian pronunciation of the words and dishes to add that authenticity and it’s Golden.

You did amazing! Glad you enjoyed it ❤️💙 & for future reference when eating griot you should try sauce with it. The liquid from the meat you strained makes a really delicious, flavorful sauce! & I think you’d love one of our staple dishes, which is legume 😋 probably would be difficult for you to make lol 😂 but if you ever get a chance to go to a Haitian restaurant in Miami or New York try it, you’ll love it! Thanks for experiencing our culture! 🫶🏾🇭🇹

I love love my Haitian food especially " griot ", oxtail, poule dur, fried ripe bananas etc etc. I stopped buying from restaurant cause they cook with " piment boucle ", my stomach and mouth can't handle that much heat, so I learned to cooked what I love and avoid the suffering. I know Haitians love piment, but some don't so I make my own 😅😅❤. Voila et merci.

She has the general idea but there are four big mistakes here: 1. do NOT rinse the porc with boiling water!! that is weird and starts cooking the meat unnecessarily. I've never seeen a haitian do that. 2. Bleach down the sink and counters after rinsing the meat 3. Haitians and Americans pronounce it plan-TAIN.... Jamaicans pronounce it that awkward plintin way. (Of course, true Haitians say bunun lol) 4. non-haitians need an explanation of what "clean/wash your meat means"... the guy did not pour out the lemon/vinegar and rinse the meat after washing it with lime/vinegar. Otherwise, good job. Thanks for the representation!
