Hey guys, seeing a lot of people discuss the performance of some of my teammates in the comments, and just wanted to ask that we all try to go easy on everyone. Twitch Rivals was a super stressful situation, and with so little time to practice, we were kind of unsure what to do. At times I definitely think things got heated, but at the end of the day everyone was just trying their best, and it was just supposed to be a fun competition that sheds light on this amazing game. It definitely seemed like a super stressful situation, and with Stardew usually being a casual or one player game, to coordinate with 3 other people you may not be used to playing with under time constraints is a lot, especially with limited practice time. I really don’t agree with a lot of the criticisms I’ve seen and I hate the idea of someone being heavily criticized over one very unique set of circumstances.

If they invited me I would've won the whole thing...

Yeah like I get that it was a high pressure situation but it seemed like there was definitely not enough communication. ‘Trust me’ with no explanation doesn’t really cut it. The others did really well trying to keep it peaceful and be encouraging and she just yelled over them so much. My anxiety could never 😂

I agree, but at the same time, I feel like it was probably partially the stress of being team leader with one day of practice in a competition with money on the line, but it was still kinda frustrating to see

she wasn't really bossing them around, she was trying to explain the strategy she was going for as team captain and under a stressful situation. she was trying to explain what/why and it didn't really come out the way she intended. as someone who has watched sylvee before and kinda knows how she is, i really didn't view her actions the same as everyone else here.. plus a lot of these commenters don't get the fact that they had such little time to prepare and they barely practiced as a team, of course it isn't going to go as smoothly as they hoped. having seanie to help explain and guide was super helpful but i promise sylvee wasn't trying to be bossy or yell at them! just difficult to communicate as a team when it gets stressful yk :,)

All I'm gonna say is: I'm glad comments agreed with me. Also wanna say, not being mean. I was so hype to see not only a Seanie video but a stardew Seanie video. Like another commenter said its just a shame the video was practically ruined. But also like another commenter said, as long as you had fun right? Thats the thing, we werent playing we are here for the commentary, yall might have had fun (even though id question that from what i saw) but we def didnt have fun watching her commentary. Which when you upload commentary to a public platform, people will have things to say forever and always, and it isnt a problem people have opinions.

It’s so interesting watching all the different teams pov’s to see all the different routes and which objectives each team went for!

The most important thing is did you have fun? if the answer is yes then hell ya!! that's all that matters.

I was hoping for some lighthearted Seanie slithering moves in good fun, as usually, but no this... I understand someone being nervous because they were with new people, the pressure of winning, etc. But at the end of the day... It's a game. You shouldn't treat other people trying to have fun like that

jfc who is this sylveey person, she should NOT have been team lead... IMO. She's so loud and talking over everyone, not communicating or listening. It's chaotic and stressful, but not in a fun way. I would be so sad if someone treated me like that :( you guys were such good sports about it.

You know Sean, as hard as it is to do, sometimes you just have to let some people run themselves into the ground and be there to help them along the way and wait until they’re ready to listen. This is mostly for when someone else is a leader and won’t take much suggestion. It’s crappy to say I told you so but there are a few times in life it needs to be done.

in a time constraint, it's better to make bad decisions quick, than making no decision at all. sean is the most experienced person there but he didn't prepare a plan. but the girl went through the "tried and tested" speedrun strategies. i m glad she tried to take responsibility on her shoulder. cut her some slack

@@lwade225 i want to remind u, they were talking over the internet. there were delays and such. cutting off others might very well NOT be intentional. her reasoning was "it's what haboo's note said". she didn't want to diverge from that plan and risk losing. she clearly struggled to communicate all the plans to team but i wouldn't call it "being bossy"

Ive always fancied the idea of taking a shot at making a reaction video or some other type of content myself. This video has made me cringe so much and feel actual secondhand frustration from everyone on the team . But im not sure i could put myself through watching this video again anyway. 😢

I don’t think you guys understand that 1.) They had 1 day to practice… 1 day. 2.) This competition lasted *multiple hours* of nothing but stress and communication and improvising. 3.) Their plan had to change because they found themselves in an unexpected situation. And 4.) It’s literally just a game, meant for fun, and none of these people are supposed to be trained/certified leaders or speed-runners lol. This is a competition, yes, but it’s for a hobby. People are allowed to make mistakes. People are allowed to be frustrated. People are allowed to be confused. At the end of the day these are all friends, and it’s kinda off putting how many people in this comment section find it acceptable to comment and critique the friendship based on such little context- especially under the given circumstances. Regardless- the video was insanely fun to watch, everyone did a great job, and it’s a genuine shame that the comments haven’t been kind or compassionate 😕

I'm so confused by all the comments hating on Sylvee. She's literally doing her best to be a leader in a high pressure situation, and i think she did great. awesome video as always!

NGL I'm still unsure what the miscommunication was over the mines. The girl said "we're doing skull caverns to level 100" like 30 times but the others didn't seem to get it until "after some back and forth" when everyone decided that's what they're doing (even though that was the plan from the beginning). I know ppl in the comments are saying she was loud and didn't listen, but it seemed like THEY weren't listening to her either and just did whatever without letting her help lead, so it just got insanely chaotic. I know it's not that serious, it's just Stardew, but other comments are making the girl out to be some terrible player when I think they were just not a well matched team.

I'm not disagreeing with you in the sense that some people are definitely just hopping onto the hate train because "hurr durr me get to dunk on woman" but you have to admit that the team wasn't very coordinated and some (SOME. some people here are just mean-) of the critique comments have a point. Being assertive as a captain is the correct thing to do, but you should also listen to your teammates and explain your thought process clearly when you make a decision instead of talking over them and just saying "trust me" or "i know" yknow? Causes less confusion

oh noooo no one in these comments knows sylvee or has seen her before so they're all being super mean to her.. i wish yall could understand she was super stressed and it felt like a much different pov watching in real time from her perspective! she was doing her best and she is not a pro at stardew by any means.. try to understand her,, :,)

No one was upset during the game I was watching in this vid.
