This one still breaks my heart. For "Sam", who very clearly has needed someone to help him for a long time yet was left to take care of himself 😢 A person with dementia does not ever need to be left alone. I pray this man will get the care he desperately needs and should have in future. You made a really big improvement there, Barbie, in spite of the worn condition of some much of his home.❤❤❤

Hi Barbie! I have asperger syndrome and I have been battling with depression and anxiety my whole life. I started taking medication again for the past 2 months and I feel sooooo much better now. I've always been a very clean person, but when I go on depression, it's hard to even get out of bed in the morning. I've been watching all your videos and I started cleaning again, like I used to. I've been doing the dishes everyday and used your cleaning tips so many times. You've helped me be myself again and I am very grateful. Keep up your good work ❤

Well said. I feel the same way. Very glad Barbie and others free cleaners have brought this to light. We all should be more aware to check on our older families, friends and neighbors and my niece works with senior people and she reminds me to take a peak in my mom's refrigerator and ask if everything is ok or if they need anything. We recently found out my mother's can opener broke and she couldn't open canned foods, even the pull tabs with her arthritis, water bottles and child proof medicine caps. So now she has a new $22 can opener and other devices to help. She is very fortunate to have family to help, some have distant families or no one to help. So thank you Barbie for helping people!

Oh, Barbie. Thank you so much for cleaning this man’s apartment. The sad part of this is he may not even be aware of how bad it actually is. And the other sad part is there are so many just in our country that are in the same situation as “Sam”. Our society has totally forgotten about these folks. What is wrong with us? I pray he gets help from social services so the rest of his time on this earth is better. Again, thank you Barbie. You truly are Heaven sent. God bless you!

With this particular apartment you did the best you could. The landlord has neglected the place. You simply can't clean floors with this level of damage. I hope his relatives were able to push management to at least give Sam new flooring and paint. I wish him the best. Thank you so much for helping him.

And replace broken and missing switch and outlet covers! Such an easy and inexpensive repair. Poor man, in his condition he needs an induction cooktop, but the landlord would likely refuse the cost. The damaged counters in the kitchen need replacing, too. It's impossible to keep them sanitary with that level of damage.

Dementia is scary because you often can’t tell a person has it until it is severe. I am a nurse who takes care of a large population of people with dementia and the patients are really good at masking it for a while. This had to happen for Sam’s relatives to get him help. Otherwise they could have just been intruding on his rights and privacy. Dementia is an evil disease. ❤

Barbie, you are a magician! But never, EVER move the gas stove. An accident may occur.

You're right about moving a gas stove when you don't know how it is installed. The reason the "ghost" moved the stove was probably because the pipe was stressed (bent away from the wall) and it began pulling the stove back toward the wall as soon as water got underneath the legs and reduced friction. I'm glad nothing bad happened. Most of the gas stoves I've owned had a big drawer at the bottom that came out. Maybe it was a warming tray, but we never used it for that. Removing the drawer would allow access to clean underneath a stove in an unfamiliar place. Our stove had the flexible pipe (I think it's called a "pigtail" because it is coiled) so it could be pulled out for ease of cleaning and servicing. Barbie cleans so well and I know it will be a huge disappointment to her if she has to leave a stove dirty because she can't move it!

You clean how you want to clean. I love your videos.

He was blessed to have you clean for him. Thank goodness his family was able to contact you. I use Zep products all the time in my housekeeping business. Got some zep cleaning vinegar by mistake. Oh gosh, does it work great! And it doesn't have the harsh smell of vinegar. Makes glass and tile shiny!!!

Now that Barbie has cleaned Sam's place so beautiful, just wanted to mention to his family, a box of peel and stick tile from the box stores are under $20 (a good many are in one box) to match something close if you wanted to replace the missing ones or floor glue if you have the missing ones and sometimes, a tile from under fridge or corner or edge can replace one in the middle of floor, but sometime not. They only stick to a clean surface which he now has. Praying for all. Ty Barbie, you always leave a place that is a new beginning, amazing clean and safer than you found it to those that need your help. You work very hard and not many could complete in the time frame that you can. Much respect to you.

Fifteen people in hazmat suits, and here you singlehandedly do everything with just a respirator God bless

These videos really do inspire me to take better care of my own place. It's so easy to put off the dishes a day, then two... Even being sick with the flu can end up with disaster after a few days, and then it feels overwhelming, no counter space, no garbage bags, just ughhh.

I love watching the magic you work. We never know what’s behind others doors..the pain and suffering that some deal with daily…I can only hope that for them they have a sense of peace in what you do for them…

Great job barbie 💝 It is hard to clean a werry dirty house but even worse if the house also is worn down and broken. Then it is dubbelt hard work. Don't stress a lot of us have children and know that it is a hard work too get things too happen on more then one level.. 😅 We understand the struggle. So many of us are in awe of the time frame Barbie cleans these homes. I wish we could all clean our own homes this fast! I love to hear how many hours or days it takes to clean because it's way more than a one hour video takes. Six hours is so amazing, we would think the same at six months. Why not pour your cleaning solutions into gallon pump sprayers. It would be faster and easier in a lot of cases, especially walls and floors, where large areas need to e covered.

I sure hope the family won’t allow their uncle to ever let the place get that bad again. He deserves better

Yep. I use a cordless drill and attachments all over the house. Makes things a lot easier for sure.

You need to get the Clorox scrubber with the telescoping stick. It's a game changer! The scrub pads are detachable. And the extending handle makes it easier for you to scrub things higher, like shower tile or walls. Saves your body from too much stress.

Microfiber towel and alcohol to clean the TV. The alcohol dries fast and won't damage the screen. You did a great job.
