@@wilhelmsvideon9206 because they want immunity for when they invade their neighbors. if russia was in nato and invaded their neighbors they would have more credibility with west and more people turning a blind eye to russias actions. putin obviously saw a chance to destabilize the wests unity from within by always voting against western policies and supporting pro russia leaders in those countries, like how the in the UN russia veto's everything pushed by the west that would stop the west from supporting who russia fights down the line. giving putin a invade your neighbors as much a you want card that we dont want them to have. russia when requesting to join NATO demanded a great power statis in nato which would have have gave russia extra powers that the US didnt even have in nato.

Fine if we don't want to get directly involved, even though we promised we'd defend them, but at least stop the dribble of support and give them what they need.

It’s true indeed… Budapest Memorandum 1994. Article 1: "The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, reaffirm their commitment to Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the CSCE Final Act, to respect the Independence and Sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine." Article 2: "The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, reaffirm their obligation to refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine, and that none of their weapons will ever be used against Ukraine except in self-defense or otherwise in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations." Article 3: "The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, reaffirm their commitment not to interfere in the internal affairs of Ukraine and not to use economic pressure on Ukraine in order to influence its politics.” So all in all, Russia is having a gross disrespect for these articles and are like cockroaches finding all kinds of tiny little holes to creep into Ukraine. Loopholes in these agreements.

Well, playing the part of the Devil's advocate here, Ukraine hasn't exactly been a model of purity and honesty. They have extreme corruption issues, and have had them for a long time. Zelensky isn't exactly a saint in this regard but he's a big, big improvement over his predecessor. Ukraine at least does have ambitions at quelling those corruption problems and they have been making progress. Having said that, I will make this point: even if Ukraine has corruption issues, does that somehow make it OK for Russia to invade them? No. It does not. Painting Zelensky as a superhero doesn't help this argument - it provides fuel for the MAGAs to say he doesn't need our help.

But it’s still propaganda for the Democrats, with selected edits from interviews with people they know will say the dumbest things. It paints a picture that conveys that ALL Republicans are like that group of guys in the second interview; dumb cult members who have blind faith in a charlatan and can’t be convinced otherwise. While there are certainly a large group of these, let’s say, idiots out there, they are a small percentage of that population. Eric Trump said as much on TV in 2017. Putin with Trump is NOT Putin with America and we need to push this point home with the Right. Also, Putin and the Christian Nationals are aligned because Putin doesn't want to reestablish the USSR; he wants to reestablish the Russian Empire (Tsarist/Russian Orthodox monarchy = authoritarianism). Putin and the MAGAs agree on homophobic, misogynist, racist stances. In fact, Russia is taking new policy cues from how the GOP is defeating immigration and abortion rights in red states.

They don't seem to understand Russia has over 1000 nuclear warheads aimed at us, THAT PUTIN THREATENS TO USE all the time--including in the last month. That he brags inside Russia (on their propaganda TV channels) that he can hit inside the US from Russian soil--no subs necessary to deliver... Russia experienced 2 meltdowns already in one of their new nuke programs, a multiple warhead missile that will be powered by a nuclear reactor on board. It would fly into the US under the radar grid, and be able to release nukes and go back into hiding, all inside the USA. The nuclear danger to civilians is just plain evil.☠😢😱 One of these new missiles with the on-board nuclear reactor melted down inside the lab on the north coast of Russia while Trump was President--Putin is not such a supporter of Trump, after all he wants to nuke him!! Ant Trump negotiated ZERO concessions from any dictator including Trump in the entire 4 years. The military took the mess out and dropped it in the water north of Russia. Then, when press got the story because 7 of their top nuclear scientists died in the lab, and, that week, doctors and nurses in the town just down the coast from the lab began dying of radiation exposure after treating the scientists in the local ER, the Russian military was tasked with recovering the reactor in the ocean....but there were TWO! An earlier failure, too... They were afraid the US would get their hands on the reactors...and sure enough, we had subs racing to the area...🤫😉 So Trump's response? He canceled the Clear Skies Treaty that allowed the US to fly a special aircraft developed in decades of flying over Russia trying to determine if any nuclear weapons programs had begun, expanded, deployment...where? 👹👿💩☠ Trump ordered all of the technology DESTROYED, permanently! The avionics it took decades to develop destroyed, and the aircraft scrapped, sold for parts. Biden is trying to recreate the technology but said it was not going well. I never heard of avionics and technology being destroyed by anyone. Most bizarre treasonous thing of Trump's Presidency to my knowledge (God knows what secrets he sold them...) WHO DOES THIS WHEN WE KNOW THEY ARE CREATING MORE DEADLY NUCLEAR WEAPONS?

Those were the best days of their lives, and they would do anything to get their high school years back; MAGA provided just a hint of that hope and they clung to it desperately. Most MAGAts did the bare minimum to graduate, and they accepted low income, hard labor, and/or extreme high risk jobs. When they got old they realized their lives are long gone and most or all of them live with lead poisoning, severe chronic pain, and a list of enemies. I know a few booksmart MAGAts; the engineers and bros with business degrees; they all have excellent memorization and could pass any memorization test, but show no sign of intelligence.
