Man Utd had a great coach in Mourhino but Pobga was the cancer on that team. He's not good enough to play in the epl because it doesn't compliment his style of soccer hence he seems slow n lethargic in the big games especially.

He did not do that with this team. Don't be so delusional. Lukaku, Herrera, Fellaini, Zlatan etc weren't playing today so let's deal with reality. The reality is that United have been throwing money at the problem rather than figure the problem and buy what the team needs. Moyes, Van Gaal and Mourinho have conspired to waste millions on nonsense signings with the blessing of Woodward. Everyone could see it and knew where it was going and the managers have paid the price yet Ed is still sat there in the stands game after game. Worst signing the club ever made was Ed Woodward by a distance.

And if you think I'm wrong look at who Liverpool, Man City, Spurs and Chelsea have recruited in that same time frame. Even Leicester City have made better buys. There are players in that United line up today that wouldn't get in the Burnley starting line up. Pereira isn't up to standard. Young is past it. Matic should retire. Mata is not effective anymore. Players like Greenwood, Gomes and Chong should only be on the pitch if United are winning and comfortable. I'm all for giving youth a chance but you have to be good enough. Compare these guys to the youth United have had. Foden would walk straight into the United side yet struggles to get minutes. United have spent around 85% the amount that City have in the last 4 years or so yet aren't even yielding 50% of the quality. Gross mismanagement of funds which get anybody living in the real world sacked. As long as numpties keep propping up the Old Trafford gravy train nothing will change.

The odd thing is that a team only gets the players it can for a few reasons. The money, the manager and the players belief in the club. If that statement some of these players are just not good enough to play for Manu was true then the truth of it is that manu would never have won as much as they have because it never was a great team to start with. Be honest what has the club achieved as of late and ask yourself why would a top player want to play in a club that has that kind of record ? Manu is the new LFC, a team that had history but thats about it.

Jose will probably have recommended and requests sales and purchases but if you had any brains you would know that (at this level especially and at this club espescially) it's not the managers job to do that.

I reacted to that one too. Wolves and West ham are good teams, even tho Wolves has started the season quite poorly. They took a lot of points from the top 6 teams last season. Southampton away will cause problems for any team. It maybe sounds as a cliché, but I honestly don't think there are any BAD teams in the Premier league, just less good.

I think he meant West Ham are good on their day, or when they're flying BUT they could easily go on a bad run and find it tough because they haven't got a couple of World Class players who'll be the difference in the big games, the pressure games. I'm sure he didn't mean to be quite so harsh sounding. Mid Div is what I felt he meant. But, hey, it's just an opinion. One of my best pals supports West Ham, I'll mention it to him Friday teatime in the pub.

Roy hit the nail on the head and I knew what he was getting at. "Ole is one of the nicest fellas you will ever meet " you can't be too nice and manage Man utd.

at Least with van gaal, the team had structure and purpose. Replacing him with mourinho was a mistake, and ole is way too inexperienced and too soft.

@@rorus9530 in retrospect as awful as a lot of the football was, LVG was showing some signs of getting it together and the attack started to look more fluid in his last few months. Won the FA Cup as well.

You need men and boys. United in the 2000's had men like Keane, Scholes, Giggs, Van Der Sar, Van Nistelrooy. But they also had youngsters like Rooney, Nani, Ronaldo, Pique, Vidic.

That's the sad part we never looked like a team that can score.

Sad to agree, to many players who are not good enough. I only have a little football knowledge, but I can name at least half the squad that needs to go ( I mean they tried to sell some in the summer and no one would buy them ) says alot

Last season, when United missed out on the Champions League, they said all the players would be getting a pay decrease (deservedly so imo)..........then you get Rashford signing a new deal on 3x the money he was on.........as a United fan, that is a slap in the face. Rashford is not even average.......5th season in the 1st team and he averages 7 goals a season in the premier league and he plays a lot of football. This is where United are going wrong.

Like every word of Roy Keane United going Down the way they play.

Anyone after Europa League final against Villarreal. Small teams can win, with good coaching. Big teams can keep bottling, with screwed up coaching.

ancietman yea he’s not worth more then £35 million in my opinion. they could of got Garth Bale for the money they paid would of been a much better signing a fast attacking winger which is the United style of old who can play in multiple positions and score goals great goals but no they stuck with this ponse pogba.

yesterday was the first man utd game i missed watching on tv for a very long time. I just had a feeling that i would be better of continue sleeping after my night shift. and thank god it was a good call. i used to get excited when it was game time. but just had a bad feeling of the team no player in that team that is good enough for man utd.

Carraghers totally spot on and hit the nail on the head here.... Can tell by how quiet Keane is. Selling Lukaku was a massive mistake with no backup plan for Utd... All this OlLyS at the Wheel thing is now a long thing of the past. Everything is crumbling all around them and their two greatest rivals are lightyears ahead of them... and probably will be for the foreseeable future. Could Utd get relegated? Maybe not today... but it's only a matter of time before they become the next Everton.

If Maddison comes in then where does it leave Pogba? If we bring Sancho in who will score from his million dollar passes? Man United require a squad overhaul. They should've brought in Icardi for Lukaku and they should've brought in Bruno Fernandes. It was an average window because at least we strengthened that squad but the squad is still incomplete.

agree: they do not have a good enough team to be challenging for title disagree: the players didnt "try hard enough", a player follows the plan set out by the manager. the plan didnt work because ollie is not qualified to manage a club as big as united due to lack of experience

its tough, you want somebody with a clear identity to their football that falls in line with how united are set up internally (as in woodwards design). And I don't think many managers like that would touch united because of that.

Jose inside is like I finished second remember that and it was bigger than my two UCL😏😏😏😏

Roy Keane for United mentor, motivator and discipliner, make him Oles assistant, maybe something will click right in that squad.
