    I absolutely hate the wayward queen attack. I somehow feel even at 2000 rating I will fall because of either my anger that opponent played it and going uber aggressive or fall for some weird traps trying to remember safe lines.

    "Wayward Queen Attack", a.k.a. "The Spassky Queen Rampage", or so my brother called it when as kids he would play dubious queen moves in the opening. Had nothing to do with Boris Spassky. It just sounded to us like a cool opening name.

    at 10:08 why go for queen takes bishop when you could have taken with the knight and be up material?

  • @TheCursedJudge

    @TheCursedJudge

    Жыл бұрын

    You would not be up material. They take your bishop, you take their bishop. You both lost bishops. I would assume why Rosen took with the Queen is because the opponent already moved their queen and it was more active, while his wasn't developed. He essentially got rid of the opponent's most active piece, and set the game into a queenless middle game that, as he said, was "more positional". He just liked the position queenless compared to with queens, but both variations would have equal material at the end of it.
