The unsung hero on that stage is Mick Ronson! An incredibly gifted, yet amazingly underrated guitarist. Rest In Peace
Kudos to the Midnight Special for putting putting on David Bowie, he's sounding awesome and amazing 🎉🎉
Qué maravilla son las canciones de Pin Ups en vivo! Esta en particular fue traída de vuelta para la gira Serious Moonlight 10 años después.
I have been watching bootleg videos of this and other Bowies videos from this particular show for years and most with a lot of quality flaws or missing spots but was happy to see them and could live with them! ...But finally, it's so great to start seeing very high-quality original TMS videos here on "The Midnight Special" channel from Bowie's 1980 Floor Show that aired back in 1973 and I remember it like it was yesterday! ...I sure hope eventually the whole show will be shown in its entirety! ...As there was nothing else ever like it ever since as it was almost the end of his Ziggy-Aladdin persona! ...Absolutely Bowie fantastic! Thank you Midnight Special for releasing it and the many other shows and artist you have been sharing as I have been praying for many, many, many years for this musical history day to come from you!
David Bowie’s band members during the 1980 Floor Show on The Midnight Special in 1973 were: David Bowie - vocals, guitar, tambourine, harmonica Mick Ronson - electric guitar, backing vocals Trevor Bolder - electric bass Aynsley Dunbar - drums Mike Garson - keyboards Mark Carr-Pritchard (AKA Mark Pritchett) - guitar The Astronettes (Ava Cherry, Jason Guess, Geoffrey MacCormack) - backup singers
This Show was one I always remembered because Bowie was a first and One of a kind original presence. I was eighteen and this blew my friggin mind! There were only two other musical milestones on t.v. that left an indelible impression; The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show and Bob Marley ( on a show, the name, I can't remember) ❤❤❤
She's groovin' it out!
Awsome
Upload the whole Floor Show!
El auténtico mesías del rock
I have this on a vinyl LP on the Pig's Eye label with some other little gems.
Grande
David Bowie was super musically gifted. He didn't need the weird theatrics that he did
I was just watching this episode and this caught me totally off guard.
Ronson looks like Randy Rhoades.

@@chicanobear13 No, you mean Randy Rhoads looks like Randy Rhoads. Randy was a family friend. He never tried to look like anyone else - just like he never tried to sound like anyone else. Hollywood in the mid-'70s was lucky to have Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen playing the local clubs at the same time.
Back when Pinups came out we were young and had a bunch of mescaline and nothing sounded quite as intriguing except maybe for Mott
THANKS. I NEED THE "DAVID" concert. Can i found this on your CHANEL?
Who is the other guitarist?(not Mick Ronson)

Bowie does a good job, but The Who's version is best!

The Who, are the best, of course! But, check out The Scorpions version. I'm not much into covers, but the Scorpions deliver!

The Sweet live on BBC 1971 is the only cover worthy of matching The Who.

Their cover is ok.
Bowie has nothing on The Who's original. It isn't in the same league as his other covers.
Wow, so slow!
Scorpions do it best
