The Oilers also have the most Canadian players of any team to reach the conference finals in the cap era.

Not only does Edmonton have the most Canadian players (24) on any NHL team during the Cap era (nevermind this season), they have 3 players from Vancouver. Nuge (Burnaby), Kane (Vancouver), and Stecher (Richmond). So if they do win the Cup, Vancouver will be seeing a lot of it over the off-season.

I'm an Oilers guy. When the Oilers get beat in the playoffs, I have always rooted for the team that beat them. At least if that team goes on to win the Cup, you can always say, well, no one else could beat that team either. If that same team loses badly the next round...well it just makes your team look even worse.

Oiler fan , grew up in Wpg as a Jets fan and that was our mantra. No one else beat Gretzky either - so even though (at the time) I hated them, I wanted them to beat everyone else. That's why I can't understand 'nuck fans who hope the Oilers get destroyed! Not saying you have to cheer for the Oilers, but deep down you want to lose to the eventual NHL cup champs, don't you?

You need a team to win a cup. The team has been growing to get to this point. How many years did Detroit lose out in playoffs before they raised the cup? Small market team. I don't get why people say he dives? I don't see it. I am sure you could make a long video of non calls on him. He is constantly being hooked and grabbed to slow him down. Edmonton fans have been so lucky to be able to watch him for so many years. Hope they win. Hardest championship to win in sports.

I don't get Canucks fans who want the Stars to beat the Oilers . So if you think the Oilers get beat by the Stars then what does that say about your Canucks if they would have faced the Stars?? We had Canucks fans right after the Oilers eliminated them saying ''Stars in 4'' or '' clean sweep'' So your saying the Canucks also would stand no chance ,don't get it!!.

Product of a more rabid fan. Not saying all fans, just the more rabid ones. At least in the past few seasons, the Oilers were knocked out by the eventual champions. And if we do get knocked out again, I'm actually a Stars fan as well, so I'd hope they'd get it. But I'm definitely hoping we get it. :P

@@patrickday1816 Nah bud the majority of Canucks fans are by far the most delusional and the most bitter of any nhl team i have ever seen. From stupid excuses like ''we would have swept them if Demko was in net'' like he has never been scored on or never lost a game to '' If Boeser was in game 7 we would have won'' even though he was in game 6 and they took a 5-1 tar and feathering to the most delusional ''we almost won''.

As an Oiler fan I would like to thank the Canucks for running us through the mill, the physicality...the push backs!.... It has prepared us moving forward. I would add Dallas is not as physical as Canucks so I dont think they will dominate nor intimidate us in that way. Canucks you guys did well!...Now let's bring home the Cup....TOGETHER!

I'm cheering for Edmonton because I hate seeing McDavid and Draisaitle not winning. But I also like seeing the goaltenders' personal sagas, their successes and comebacks (read Stuart Skinner and the way Calvin Pickard performed when he had to). It is so interesting how when we think Edmonton we think high scoring and powerplay yet they have the best penalty killing and stronger than expected defensive play. Seeing contributions from the 4th line is also encouraging even if it's setting the stage for the top line on the next shift. I can"t help but cheer for Edmonton. They are favourites and underdogs all at the same time.

Imagine the triumph if the Oilers seize the victory! It wouldn't just be a win for them, but a beacon of hope for Vancouver, illustrating how close they are to grasping that coveted cup once again. It's a testament to the passion and resilience of Canadian hockey, where every team pushes the boundaries and elevates the game. After three decades, the time feels ripe for Canada to reclaim its glory on the ice. And hey, if my beloved Oilers would have failed the last round, I'd proudly hop on the Canadian Vancouver wagon without hesitation. Let's rally behind our teams, celebrate the spirit of the game, and shout out loud: Go Oilers Go!"
