I think you should reunite Dorje and play a green screen multi-camera live set and turn it into the biggest epic online live album/documentary ever and release it on KZread. Call it Finale or Coda and give the original band a proper send-off for all of us who came up with you all on KZread.

Well I do love this idea, but it would definitely take way more time than they have allowed me, also if you love Dorje I think you will be happy with the live album. I am releasing this year… it features many of the tracks I wrote for the Dorje album, that was never released.

Give an opportunity to get everyone together to thank them for their time with Chapman guitars and give us entertainment of watching our fav guitar players jamming out.

If they can come to a venue. You could simply host a festival. Let them film the festival and broadcast it on YT. That would attract new bands for the next year and both their company and you can make a buck. Let's say you sell the live recordings as albums for the bands. And they (the filming company) get the revenue from the video's on yt. And above a certain return of investment (pay out YT) you get a cut to manage the future festivals and invest in them. That way you have a starting point for a music label. Developing artists was and is never cheap.

That’s fantastic Rob, what an opportunity. The film industry being big there is understandable, I’ve often thought, whilst wandering around Malta and Gozo that it would be so fantastic as a setting for a Walking Dead spin-off type thing. Especially with the architecture and natural topography. But I think you should definitely record a performance video there, like Tiny Desk, but with a big studio. You could also edit in various Chapman guitars and gear throughout the songs to showcase what they can do

Film a very creative music video (could just be about instrumental), but also record all the behinds the scene footage using the same technology. Include why you choose your rig and what it does for you, how you are setting things up, the motivation for the song, etc. Then splice it into one KZread video like 48 hours or 60 minutes does for us to consume kind of like a report. After that you also release separate videos for the song, the B roll and the gear. Take a look at what CBS morning did for U2’s debut at the sphere. Could be cool.

Hi Rob. I dunno if you remember, but there was a TV series about 1998 called "A Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star". In it Fish from Marillion played a fading rock star who had an "Ego Room". In there he had enormous cheering crowds back-projected behind him while he noodled away, giving the impression that he was performing at a huge outdoor rock festival. That screen would allow you to demo gear to hundreds of thousands of screaming fans.😁

There are loads of really great suggestions in here. I think the smartest use of the studio would be a film which is entertaining to the Chapman Guitars faithful WHILE promoting the company. I'm envisioning interviews of artists who gig and record with your guitars and while they're telling stories and playing their favorite models you could cut in close up, high definition footage of the guitar and ever the artists entire rig. They could even bring tbeir whole band if available and shoot a music vid. That would be GREAT exposure for the artist, great promotion of Chapman guitars, and wonderfully entertaining to all of us music fans/guitar nerds worldwide.

Brilliant Rob! As a commercial photographer I would say make an epic looking short piece that mixes product hero video into live epic players - with awesome back screen , say desserts , into flames - see what ‘stock’ they have there they can re-use. Picture this - 3 or 5 guitars on stands , camera , moves in and around , above then tracks down a neck . Backing intro music starts .Then a hand grabs neck, camera pulls out and round to reveal you playing . With epic backdrop footage. Next cuts to another guitar , panning up it , showing the reflections on guitar of the epic background footage . Another hand grabs it (Rabbea?) and they proceed to shred . You can cut in close ups of the camera tracking around guitars along with some product info headlines or voiceover . Message me if you want any ideas , happy to help :)

Hi Rob really excited for you cool stuff. How about from night before a gig with the band do a documentary chat, invite a super mystery guest to turn up on stage and gig with you and the band not only all that film all the stage setup from bringing in the gear onto the stage and setting it all up in detail explaining as much of the setup so we can see the whole process from start to finish, what a challenge to make that hard work exciting and then throughly enjoy the gig. I think already more than myself is asking you might do this. Create suspense about mystery guest you know what to do.

Not sure how it would work from a licensing standpoint, but with a live wall, it would be fun to have you 'sit in' with some of your favorite bands. Make it look like you're onstage jamming with them. I guess if you did short enough clips of songs, you could make it work.

Play your favourite licks with your favourite guitars walking, sitting, hanging whatever. Those cameras and your talent are a recipe for gold mate. Think of it as something that could culmanate all of your dreams into a timelessness for you.

Yes, this is smart. Rob should get out of the way of the technicians and do what he does, moving like they want him to but provide as much music as possible. I don't know if he needs to be alone ... he could be playing with someone but the idea should be to do as much one take as possible. Maybe do retakes as the technicians want to try out different approaches. That way the studio gets maximum value out of having him there and he gets the longest "showreel" out of the studio time. The more he prepares a particular subject or "dream shot" the more time gets eaten up in the chores of realising that dream; you have to trust the studio to know what works, what's fun and what will show off the tech to best advantage. Also, treat it as day one of an ongoing collab; this isn't about the end product, it's about getting everyone committed to working together.

Being the product and not so much the producer is a sure way to save time. As much music as possible sounds like a clear winner to me. I guess with so little time one could treat it like packing for an overseas trip, half your luggage then half again and then once again. As the time is so short i think it would have to be a performance style of vid. I don't think I've seen a music vid shot in a studio like that so as you say you could literally have anything going on sky's the limit. A behind the scenes is also a no brainer as it would broaden the videos appeal bringing in an audio/visual audience rather than just music or gear audience. Whatever you end up doing good luck with it. Who knows you could end up scoring a movie.

Hi Chappers! Congratulations for getting that opportunity. I would definitely do a Chapman Guitars commercial. Perhaps you will never again get the chance to have such an image push for fckn free. What ever you should decide for, I'm looking forward to seeing your result.

I think you should film your band playing on top of the seattle space needle, and then the space needle sends your music into space and some metal head spacemen show up to rock

I think if its possible, you can do multiple videos in one. I would suggest something incorporating the history of guitar and its importance in music history particularly rock and blues. You can transition from the biggest historical venues in background as you change guitars and give brief description about what makes that guitar and its sound unique. You can go from chuck berry, to Beatles, to led zepplin, clapton, hendrix changing the background to venues where they held their biggest concerts. Then you can explain how before it wasn’t really possible to get great affordable guitars like today, and tou can compare gibson to epiphone, fender to squier so on and so forth. Like this you tackle 4-5 different subjects that in one. History, unique guitar tones, affordable guitars etc.

Keep it on brand for them - how about a concept like ways of creating "moods" (in film) with scores/songs/even just passages with guitar. You could focus on one element or breeze over various scales/tunings/guitars/amps/fxs to achieve different feelings . You could evaluate some famous cinematic guitar tracks and maybe show what you would do if asked to create for a film team.

Considering this unique opportunity, whatever you film must include a live performance... a band performance of some sort with at least 10+ minutes of a couple of songs or a greatest-hits medley thing, all enhanced with the studio's lighting and visuals high tech they have in there. Cheers!

I have a very simple answer/question Rob, what would "give you the most joy", when watching the shoot back? Rather than connecting it with anything else at all, although your joy can of course include anything else you wish! Best of luck with it and look forward to seeing what you finally choose!

How about making the video about the design process of Chapman guitars. Id love to see how you went about giving people the options for the models.

A heaven and hell set up would be cool, the darkness and fire of hell accompanied with some gnarly metal riffs then flip back to heaven with some really clean ethereal tones, just flipping back and forth. So you get some sick visuals and the huge contrast between tones would be cool too.

If it were me I'd utilize the incredible studio and its screen tech for a full Monkey Lord ambient album video shoot. Granted, I'm in love with that music, but using such tech to film videos of some or all those great songs seems like a no-brainer. Whatever you decide, though, I'm certain it's going to be excellent.

Congratulations on such a cool opportunity, if nothing else it should be really cool to be there and experience it. If you just want to have fun, go big and make a lifetime memory. If you want this as a realistic tester... keep it simple. I have no clue what the topic should be though. If you ever wanted to go for a crazier style of channel that appeals to a wider audience, maybe this is the chance?

Hi Rob! I may suggest you to use new opportunities the studio has to make what you can't produce by your own. For instance, some advanture into a guitar - you may film macro traveling into different guitars - how they made inside (holobody, electronics, strings, etc.), like if you are 1mm tall and have a tourist trip into a guitar like in a cave.

Related to a lot of the other comments, how about a tutorial for preparing and doing a live gig, with dos and don'ts, and so on. How much to prepare the performance and how to secure easy solutions to most common failures. Maybe with some cool footage from your own live gigs. I think this could made to take good advantage of this awesome technology. BTW - thank you for years of superb KZread entertainment.

Arr man you've got to do a Dorje performance - opportunities like this don't come about often, whatever it takes to get the guys back together for one more recording. All new song, old song, live performance of one of your EP's, a Game of Thrones medley like you used to slay with live... whatever it would be would be epic with the old band back together. Dorje's Endgame
