Kalyn realised this was being launched and messaged to kindly say "hey, I exist, I use this brand name, could you possibly use anything else?", and this person used it anyway. Now Kalyn did drop the ball and not trademark it earlier (which she tearfully owned up to), and other things also use this name, but since she was made aware of it Kalyn supporters are upset that this has happened when kindness could have prevented it. Edited to add: even though Kalyn is upset she has said she doesn't want any negativity to be associated with the brand or this person, she didn't even name her I don't think

Can’t believe someone would actually be brazen enough to steal an entire brand. Kayln has been very gracious in the way she handled it. Speaks volumes and highlights how different these two woman are. Jaclyn needs to take a good hard look in the mirror and realise what she is.

This isn't just stealing the name, the branding is almost identical to Kalyns. This is flat out sad. There is no way Jaclyn didn't know. She just saw that Kalyn hadn't trademarked it and took it. Atleast address it. Poor Kalyn had to put an end to her 5 year business. KOZE wasn't just a business with Kalyn it was a community, and now it's ending. Great job Jaclyn you took away a community just so you can have more money. Kalyn reached out to you and you ignored her. Kalyn messed up by not trademarking so yes as this may be legal it's not ethical.

And how she worked hard to get where she is now because of her originality and creativity with make up. I hate to say this but I feel like you deserve to know the truth. Pretty much everything Jaclyn has ever said is bs. Her family always had money and so did she. There are SO many videos with receipts about how all the inspirational stories of her going from the bottom to the top are just manipulation and not true. I also used to be a big fan, I learned how to do my makeup from her channel (which is fine!) but was really hurt to learn we were sold so many lies to make her even richer. Sorry to rant it just bugs me for women who work so hard and get basically scammed by people like her.

Oh man. I have been following you for years. I remember buying Champagne Pop and being so excited to see you in Sephora, being so proud of you. I wasn’t even aware of the other Koze until recently, but it is so apparent that it is an established brand. With all that time and research trying to find a name, you can sit there and say you feel right about this or somehow didn’t know (doubtful)? Even if it wasn’t trademarked, you had to see this woman and decide to rip her brand from her. You steamrolled over this poor girl and she’s having to undo all the work she’s done for years… I won’t buy another thing. I have to assume that Kayln unfortunately did not trademark her brand. Which means in the eyes of the court Jaclyn would win. However in the eyes of the peoples court this behavior is absolutely disgusting and disappointing. Nothing makes me happier than to see the amount of people supporting Kalyn the real KOZE creator. You certainly live by your motto “be kind to you”. You are only kind to you and your bank account. No class at all

Koze simply doesnt beling to you. Kalyn reacted so Mature and kind. The least you could do is give it back to her, it is HER whole image. Since 2017 this has been her way to describe cold nights while cuddling into a blanket and having a coffee. And I have never watched a Single Video, not even this one. I am just Herr to Support kalyn nicholson, who helped me out of very dark times in my life by always being kind and optimistic. Koze is kalyn, simple as that.

Koze will always belong to Kalyn. This is just shameful. Kalyn created a space with Koze that provided so much, mentally and physically, for so many people. Something she worked so hard to accompish. Kalyn's Koze was an idea of self care, applicable to the real world. This shallow brand says nothing about 'being kind to yourself'; it's a concept built on theft, ignorance, devastation and truly, lack of any original thought. It's hollow, and will never hold genuine, authentic values like Kalyn's Koze has.

I don’t stand behind cancel culture, and I truly always do my best to remain objective to issues in the YT/influencer/celeb world. These are real people and people make mistakes. That being said, it is truly astounding to me that a person with as much influence and as many resources as Jaclyn has can continue to pollute her brand with so many careless mistakes. Jaclyn consistently contradicts herself, but for her to say this is original with intentions of being kind is grotesque. So many of these comments state how distasteful this is, but it is really disheartening to see how disconnected from her roots Jaclyn has become. Jaclyn-it’s likely you won’t see this but it’s important to be said. You don’t need to be cancelled, you don’t need a public apology video, but you should really work to improve your emotional intelligence and hone in on your lost sense of empathy. Additionally, you should do something to make this right with Kalyn. If it’s not to cash grab, consider sharing the profits of what you’ve sold using HER brand, give her the resources she needs to own all of the rights of the name KOZE, and find a new name for yourself. Find your creative roots that you started off with and be better. I wish everyone the best.

Same! I've been following her since she was doing tutorials in her kitchen. Back before she had lip fillers lol. Today I unfollowed her because I happened to stumble on the video from the original All Things Koze creator. And listening to this woman speak and be so kind and be so graceful even though she got completely fucked over by another woman, of all things, breaks my heart.

Koze will always belong to Kalyn. As someone who has bought a TON of Jaclyn Hill merch over the years, I’m NEVER buying anything from Jaclyn Hill EVER again.

It just seems so off to me, Kalyn and Koze will always go together. After watching her video, it really was a tearful and heartfelt goodbye to not just a brand but a community. I would have supported your brand had it not been Koze. I'm so sad this had to happen 😞

I'm not for the cancel culture because I know people make mistakes and Kayln herself is giving you the benefit of doubt. However, I think it needs to be addressed Jaclyn. If anything to apologize for not doing more research on the brand name. I've watched you come so far overcoming all of the drama with your previous launches so I understand why you would want to not discuss this topic, but this woman really put her heart into her brand and though she didn't trademark like she should've she still deserves the respect of at very least an apology for being overlooked. Kayln seems excited to rebrand even though she wasn't planning on doing this, but I feel like she deserves the support needed to rebrand. So, please help support her rebranding by giving a shout out and an apology to her, I would really like to see this situation be handled with peace and love for another fellow positive creator and brand owner. Even if the intentions weren't malicious it would be nice to see everyone overcome this with positivity and love and support for each other. She just had a baby, and is remodeling her home and I think this whole situation has put so much stress on her and I'm sure on you as well by having read all of the previous comments on here. I know this comment will go unnoticed but I really hope people think about what they say before saying it because Jaclyn too is a human being and doesn't deserve hateful mean comments. I just hope that it's addressed and Jaclyn is supportive of Kayln and her rebranding.

I've been following kalyn nicholson for years and saw all the effort she put into koze. It breaks my heart to see someone just tramp all over it. Kalyn handled this situation with class and stepped out of it as the bigger person. I don't know this channel and creator, but I really hope that she realises she did wrong and maybe apologizes for what she's done. Kalyn will come out of this stronger and her own creativity and energy will lead her to something new und beautiful.

I find it really inventive how Jaclyn always finds new and creative ways to let down her community. It really takes an imaginative person to be so underhanded and heartless. Shout out to Jaclyn.

it’s pretty interesting how so many comments about kalyn are simply not here anymore. sad, in fact. she’s canadian and certainly had a lawyer when creating her brand years ago … a brand that is about cozy home vibes. (and she has an attorney now, too. unfortunate for someone who doesn’t have her employees do the work for her three youtube channels and podcast and two instas all while raising a newborn and renovating her home with her boyfriend. someone who is about living a real life and sharing it all with her around two million, or maybe more, subscribers.) this is going to destroy kalyn’s seo and she’ll start losing money that contributes to half her income. people are so flippant when making sh*t comments. like does anything think before they type and defend what they don’t know??

This is the first time that I can actually say I can no longer watch a creator any longer. I cannot believe that she didn't know about Kayln Nicholson's brand. This to me shows that she is the only person she cares about and I cannot support that message. While she legally isn't doing anything wrong I can no longer support her brands, which is sad because I like her cosmetics and videos. However I don't support these kinds of business moves.

I’ve stood by for years as Jaclyn made an absolute spectacle of herself and have never ever commented. This is a new level. Why, after all the drama with other launches and endeavors, would you even think about taking a name that another KZreadr worked so hard to build into a brand if you don’t want drama and hate? Whoever advises Jaclyn in public relations needs to be fired and Jaclyn needs to wake up.

Honestly I followed you first. I had no idea who Kalyn was until all this drama surfaced. But the only word that I can think to say is, disappointing. You are your team are way bigger than her. You do the research and you would see her. It’s really heartbreaking watching her have to go through this and lose something she was so passionate about for years. Please address this and make this right to her. You just took this woman’s brand that she spent time building. And she is taking this with such grace and you haven’t spoke up once.

The worst part of this situation is that Jaclyn's fans baby her. All of the comments from her new video are about loving her and wanting more content from her. Do people not hold anyone accountable anymore? Praising her for essentially stealing an entire business from someone is probably the lowest of the low. I hate how this YT community just picks and chooses at random who to cancel because she's a prime candidate.

I’m hoping that Jaclyn responds to the Koze issue. I’m a longtime support and consumer (watching since 2016) and I really hope that Jaclyn didn’t do Kalyn dirty. I thought the same thing as soon as I seen the name, but I don’t think she intentionally used it or stole it!! A lot of brands out there ex dove chocolate and dove deodorant and skincare/hair have the same name and sell completely different products!! It does happen doesn’t mean someone “stole” it or copied it… there’s so many different names you can name something it’s bound to happen!

All this girl cares about is selling, kalyn literally wanted a safe space. She did this to a woman that just gave birth to her first baby & has had this name for years. Like you literally can’t have any products without drama.

I like how she subtlety hints “everything is trademarked” to me kind of feels like a jab at Kaylynn basically saying haha it’s fair game which is so freaking horrible. She doesn’t even do the adult thing and apologize for it or her personally which shows me what kind of a person Jaclyn really is. I’m sure Jaclyn’s lawyers are saying eh people will forget about it in a year or 2. In short no one really owes anyone anything but if you were really human and have compassion to another human being you would at least apologize. I hope she learns from this an actually grows from it which I doubt. Kaylynn gracefully took the high road and she has gained a follower in me. I hope her Kaylynns business whatever she names it grows and flourishes

@@madzc8330 The issue is that per copyright/trademark rules, multiple brands can have different names so long as they don't associate or mix one product with another. Koze is an online lifestyle brand that was used by Kalyn for many years. If someone was making a Koze plant store or Koze candy shop, it wouldn't interfere with Kalyn or be associated with her and vice versa. Unfortunately, in this case, Jaclyn is doing exactly that. We have now learned that no ones trademarked the name "Koze" but that it is behind a $95,000 paywall. It was Jaclyn's fault for posting this without the trademark and making people assume she had it. But also Kalyn never copyrighted it and has chosen not to do so and look elsewhere because she doesn't want the hassle or the online harassment. Either way, this could have been avoided by a simple google search and has displaced Kalyn's business channel temporarily until she has a new name. It is a shame and unfortunately Jaclyn is the morally ignorant party if she moves forward with this. (Although Kalyn definitely should've copyrighted it while it was available, it's just that she did her research on the name itself before taking it for her business purposes). *Not trying to sound aggro just trying to explain because this is a hell of a weird tech-social media marketing situation*

The other koze companies are not in the same realm as Kalyn’s Business and were slightly different in name. and now Kalyn would’ve ended up having to shut down bc she can’t afford to fight a legal battle. Kalyn was in business for 5 years, it was her life. And this heartless person just forced her to close down

You could’ve been kind to Kalyn & not taken her brand from her. KOZE was her brand for the past 5 years, forcing her to either sue or rebrand when she’s a brand new mom is so unfair to her.

I can not believe Jaclyn did this to Kaylen , how can someone be so evil to a young mother . Who spent five years working on her brand only to have to shut it down because a more well-known creator wanted to make more money . In the video she said she spent so much time trying to find a name for the brand but If she bothered to look up the name "koze" she would have seen kaylens brand . And the fact that Kaylen was so respectful about the whole thing I mean in her " saying goodbye to koze" video she did not even mention Jaclyns name . And I also stuck with Jaclyn through the years but this was it for me ....

The only KOZE for me is Kalyn's one. There's no way Jaclyn didn't know about it, it's very sad and frustrating.
