I am SO excited! I never even thought about making shoes! But! "Progress is what happens when impossibility yields to necessity!" Arnold Glasgow EXACTLY! There are handmade shoes on Etsy. Very simple leather moccasins. I WANT them! But I also want them in EVERY color! LOL! However...they are $100 a pair! *GASP*! THAT is NOT happening! Then I thought...wait...if she can make them, then I can make them! And so, here I am! I found YOU!!! And now I am so excited I dont know what to do with myself! I cant believe I am excited to make SHOES!!! Who'd have thought?!?! LOL
First of all, your video are so helpful, thank you! I'm trying to make a pair of sneakers as a fun side project to learn some things. I'm working from a template by taking apart an older pair of shoes. I have a quick question though, how important is the shape of a shoe last? I want the shoes I'm making to be as accurate as possible to the way they looked before being taken apart, so I'm wondering if the shoe last itself is what does all of the shaping, or if that is done when it's fit to the outer sole? I of course don't have the shoe last that was used to make these shoes, so I'm wondering if I just buy a shoe last online if it would change the shape of the shoes even though I'm working from the exact pattern of them?
