The damage to living tissue would have been much worse than the ballistics gel can show. I know this will probably never get seen, but from a circus performer, when you swing the whip, leave your arm straight out. Part of why it kept flying back at you at the end was that you were pulling it back. If you leave your arm straight out, the whip will crack, and lose momentum before it can come back and hit you.

I've split that exact can in half with the regular bullwhip, you're putting a lot more effort into your swing obviously because the metal is heavier but you can also do that with the regular bullwhip for increased effect.

You would become a juggernaut if you bring it into a colosseum, nobody can match you but you wouldn't want to bring it into a medical battlefield. Why? Because the weapon would be classified as a one man super heavy weapon and these types of weapon is not recommended in battlefield. If you want the exact reason then it's because usually super heavy weapons ( ballista for example) use many people, they will reload, protect the weapon when it lag (stagger after shooting) but with this whips, nobody wants to be your guardian as friendly fire is real, after you whip for once, you'll suffer the lag and the enemies will kill you

but this is like an accual whip. belmont has this weird combo of flail and whip. honestly a lost closer to the flail. it has a handle, then a chain of uniform thickness followed by the "head" of the mace, and as we have it explained the only reason it does such insane damage is because its a blessed weapon against undead which makes it deal more dmg (the hit part explodes upn contact) so Mikes whip is totaly diffrent from belmonts flail. so while its called a whip it is in fact a morning star flail.

Do a version two. In this version take the thick stranded cable and make it the entire length of the whip. Then, every foot or 2, strip off a layer of the small wires. This will keep the cable as one piece while slowly tapering it to the end. Then, you only need to attach the thin wire at the end. I'd love to see this version.

@@MikeShake I think adding short pieces of shrink tubing to protect the cuts / taper-sections from unraveling would also be a good idea. Using tape or epoxy glue or solder would make the cable rigid, also shrink tubing is easily replaced once it's worn out. Great video btw. The crimp “sleeves” are used on most spearfishing lines to make secure loops as well because it’s super reliable when done right. Same goes for killing-spike-on-a-wire loop systems for carrying the fish.

Hmmm... just a idea, what about completly removing the connectins and just use the 2mm wires for the whole lenght, then add another 2mm wire like 1m shorter, then add another wire 1m shorter and so on... weave them together like an Easter whip, adding more wires at the base so it gets progresively thicker.

Ever since I saw an old martial arts master of mine whom mastered the whip use one, I was convinced no sword could compare only thing that could tango is a spear and a pole but even then I’ve seen it in play and nobody can really defend from a whip. They’d have one with rubber tips on the end to prevent serious damage to someone and the noises the whip makes would send your heart through your arse. Only problem is the whip is basically the hardest weapon to master so in order to use a chain whip you’d have to have years of experience or be a natural at it.

The problem with whips is theyre lack of armor penetration and lack of blunt damage. A leather armor is enough to nullify most of it's damage.

Take your thickest Cable, cut into the thickness 1/4 of its width and remove the cut strands at the length you want it to become thinner, and keep doing that, making it progressively thinner until you have the length and progression you are looking for. To avoid fraying, you can solder it at each cut. This will give you 1 long piece that is thick at the base and then thin at the end.

@@kameljoe21 definitely. Would just take a lot longer to do This was my first thought, but came up with my way as a means of being a lot easier. Braiding would be much more durable though

Try actually welding it at the end. Solder is super weak and won't stand up well to those kinds of stresses. Also, heat treating and tempering it after its been welded to make it as durable as possible.
