@@Name-sb2inprobably because 1 the sims is already fairly buggy 2 despite her supercomputer she plays a lot more than the average player because streaming and making videos + has all the packs and I’m guessing some massive save files and I’m guessing that doesn’t help the glitches

when the new expansion is out kayla should start working on a not so berry challenge 2.0!! i think having an updated challenge with different colors, careers and aspirations would be so fun!!!

Maybe she could base it off the Awesimssauce legacy, which was a colour-per-generation legacy based challenge we played in the Sims 2 and into 3 that Not So Berry is very similar to.

31:43 is so pretty! I always think entry ways should be the most detailed because it really shows what kind of house you're walking into!

i LOVE putting my graveyards in the vampire neighborhood as "houses", with a sim living there as a graveyard keeper, space for "funerals" with a coffin, and biiiiig underground catacombs for sims urns! i just love the vampire pack so much

favorite thing is Kayla talking about what the challenge is, forgetting to mention she co wrote it

I'm on Gen 35 of my Legacy. I can relate to the Grave Hunts and collecting all the headstones! HAHA I have all my past ghost heirs in various lots. I'm so excited to build a graveyard with multiple units to house them all in one place!!! Looking forward to the new building tool coming with For Rent.

@@ivannatung1026 Its based on NSB, utilizing IllusoryThrall's Extended and KateRaed's Whimsy Stories in a spread sheet I've created to track things. Yes, normal lifespan but occasionally I'll age up early if I'm getting bored. Sometimes I'll start a Scenario too to change things up.

Not me designing a mansion that fills an entire 60x50 Sims 2 lot with 2 wings, a full basement and attics while Simsie talks about preferring small homes that are easier to manage. 😅

Simsie talking about killing off sims, collecting graves, "thankfully grandpa's dead", etc yet being a landlord is apparently "morally questionable."

I really wish you would update the not so berry challenge to reflect all that we have in the game now. I never want to do it anymore bc I hate the scientist, doctor, and astronaut careers

I love when you go out of your way to make these very ambitious builds.

It would be amazing to see a new not so berry challenge part 2 where you add in a few more generations that feature newer pack additions since the original challenge came out so long ago and the game has grown so much.

In Florida as well, my house has the same laundry room walk through but also a bit of tile in front of the front door. Great when its sandspur season

when for rent comes out you could own a plot with alll (or most of the graves) and rent out a little house. This way you can have still a lot of graves but it might not lag that much and it might be fun to own a "graveyard"

13:13 for some reason I personally really like the laundry day and bust the dust features. I like the task of doing it, despite the chaos.

So, I haven't experienced many of the sims 4 glitches that people complain about but the one I get the most is the terrain paint glitch. I don't even have to be in build mode. I'll go to a community lot I built, be in the middle of playing on it, and suddenly the terrain paint disappears. Luckily for me I save all my builds and I can just replace the lot and continue playing but if it happens to a house build then that gets annoying because my options are to either redo the paint or go through the house, put all the personal or new stuff into inventory, and then replace the lot from my library and put all the stuff back in place before continuing my game

honestly the framed pics of sims is hilarious to me.

When she started talking about how she had a bunch of graves in her front yard and said, let me explain I was like all right let’s see where this goes and it just kept getting worse😂😂😂 I still think it’s very interesting though I feel like I would do this too, if I got bored enough

I can understand the issue with giant lots, but with the eye on the new pack, I´ve been making cul du sacs with multiple houses on the massive lots like Brindleton bay.

I like using laundry. My only beef is that I can't use the machines if I have more than one sim, because they autonomously do laundry and never check the lint tray. Sometimes I don't think handiness fits my sim, but if I don't get the lintless upgrade it's Fire Time.

It's not just Horse Ranch having issues w/ terrain paint. I had a whole townhouse complex done (building for the next pack, super excited) and I saved, came back, no paint. Anywhere. So, so frustrating. I am now watching this and redoing ALL of the paint.

I also get overwhelmed playing in larger households! Unfortunately, in the sims 3, I almost always make one of my first couple sims have the Big Family aspiration or be a Helpless Romantic, so they get a lot of wants that have to do with Trying for Baby.... And I can never say no to them! 😂

Mudrooms are pretty common in the northeast! How you describe your laundry room is a mudroom here. Most homes have a laundry/utility room off of the garage and maybe even a door to the backyard

I feel like the midwest/central USA with all the farmland, it's more common to have a mudroom. My houses have almost always had a mudroom or have had a 'mudtile' section. Interesting! I assume it's because of the presumed farmwork and muddy boots and farm attire you'd take off in the mudroom. For us, we always had our dogs things in there as well, especially since they have a doggy door and tend to track in mud. It's easier to clean the tile real quick compared to deep cleaning, let's say, carpet.

Last time I built on a 64x64 lot was this past August. I did a huge mansion worth over $600,000, which ended up being my most expensive build. I do a few 64x64 builds but not like that. I don’t think I have the energy to ever do it again 😅

I don't have laundry. Instead I make a counter with a dish washer, and put laundry baskets in front of it. Add the get famous detergent prop on top

I really love this house, it's so nice. I agree with you though, if the house is too big, you can get overwhelmed keeping track of all the Sims and stuff. I'd liked to have seen the Sims have lots in Chestnut Ridge put at least one of the builds as a rental. If you could rent a place, Sims that don't live in Chestnut ridge could stay there and have their horses if they're in town for a competition. I can't wait for the new pack to come out and can't wait for more apartments from you, official one's.

OMG, my pink gen lived on a "juice farm" in Henford with his twin and their good friend. When Horse Ranch came out, I moved the twin and the friend to Chestnut Ridge to branch out into the nectar business and stabled pinks horse Misty at their ranch 😄!

I got very confused at first when you were talking about the graves. Because i heard grapes at first, it was only when you started talking about collecting them, that i realised what you were actually talking about 🤣 It made a lot more sense when i went back and listened again. I was crocheting at the same time, so only had half an ear on the first time 😂

honestly i build on 64x64 and 50x50 lots pretty frequently, i love doing a massive house with loads of landscaping around it!

I have a sims family of 8 (including triplets!) and laundry was the WORST idea I ever had. It never ends!

20:25 I just had the weirdest terrain paint glitch. I loaded into a previously completed build in Sulani (I had used 2 diff base grasses and 1 island living sand) and the terrain paint had been deleted. At one point while I was redoing it, I hid the undo button. All the terrain paint changed to one of the three I was using. I clicked redo and it all changed to another of the 3 terrain paints. So I had to redo it a 3rd time and now only use the eraser if I make a mistake.

You should make a graveyard lot!

Idk if you use mods but SimRealist has a mod called Mortem that lets you have funerals and you get a funeral home/graveyard. You can put the whole landgrabb family in their own mausoleum!

I had no clue about the pet feather displays! I'm never selling another feather they bring me unless I already have it on my wall.

I wanted to build South Fork from Dallas on this lot but got bored and my Sims didn't have enough money and had to realign my timeline because my Sim was older than her older siblings at that point. Never went back to it.

Despite someone who hasn't really figured out their dream home, I think this house+some sort of a good connection to an urban area would be my dream home. It's gorgeous.

6:24 I think that the new pack might just come in handy for the horses. Just the other day I was thinking about building a 3 gen 64×64, sister in the main house with her husband and kids, they all tend to the winery. Her parents in a basement suite, they're retired and all they really do now is tend to their own two horses. Then other sibling would live in the converted loft above the barn to take care of the horses. They've got the other 6 horses in their household. Would play as the sister and then wouldn't have to worry about taking care of the horses but would still have one. More of a builder than gameplay player but I think it might be a fun to do

I personally can't live in a home with very small rooms, especially if I'm designing a mansion. But, this one is well done and since it is a ranch style home it doesn't need to be needlessly ridiculous big. Also lol I have a graveyard or rather the beginning of one in my Hotel Cortez third basement with headstones. Love watching you play and create and helps give me ideas, you keep at it.

this is so useful for me to see rn omg, I'm building on this exact lot for my legacy save and I have been struggling so much for ideas on how to fill the space!! I definitely will not be using diagonal walls tho 💀

All my terrain paint disappears, it's when I go out to manage worlds then back to the lot it's all gone, all of it, doesn't matter how much I've used or the lot size or the world etc, leaving the lot and loading back up deletes my terrain paint. Only happens once for each lot (per save file) usually thankfully

I am currently building on a 64x64 lot. I am doing an every room gets bigger challenge (1x1; 2x2; 3x3... 13x13), but I did it as a puzzle, so the 1x1 didn't need to be my entry way. Funny thing: It is on the 64x64 lot that you used in this video :D I did the entry way and the living/music room and the attached barn area (didn't know, what to put in there and though: "The hourses could stay with the family"), but I am still figuring out the other large rooms. This will take me weeks to do... But I will keep going, room by room :)

Your stories of collecting townie graves has made me want to collect them in my alphabet legacy playthrough for the ps4 trophy. I'm the type to always turn off aging cause i get soooo attached so a trophy related challenge is prob the one time I'll get to do that.

Would you ever write an updated Not-So-Berry Challenge with more generations to use some of the newer packs? (And also change up the colours? :P)
