Gravity changer, as in something like the now defunct Up and Down and All Around mod?

You should try using the Gravity Changer mod, it has compatibility with Immersive Portals so you can, for example, make a flat portal, connect it to an upright portal, and walk through seamlessly with a new orientation

Fun fact: If you hold something villagers like they will follow you, and if you drop it they will pick it up. I found this well playing with immersive portal experiments.

I’m reasonably sure that Villagers are programmed to check out what you’re building if it’s nearby their village. I like to imagine them taking up your build with the village zoning committee.

You know, a minecart with something in it has more momentum than an empty one This is why I test using chest minecarts instead

I think the 75% of this video where he just screams at the villagers, The Villagers are like: "damn god is making a rollercoaster"

When you test out if the Minecart rolls, put an entity inside or just sit in it. The technically bigger weight of the Carts actually affects the game's physics! ;)

This feels just like 2012, when people would just show off their cool rollercoaster creations

i think immersive portals is fabric only and railroading i also beleive is forge only.

no there is a forge version it's just slightly more buggy but it works fine

This comment will probably get lost in the sea which is KZread comments, but I just wanted to offer a couple explanations to how the portals work, and to give ideas for the future. When the minecart/player enter the loop, weird teleporty stuff happens, and this is because of how Minecraft interpolates entity position. Because of the way the portals work, when the minecart goes through, it gets teleported to the other portal, however the client also interpolates it from where it was before to where it is now, so the minecart in essence flies through the air to get to top part of the coaster. To remedy/fix this effect, I believe you can have the other end of the portal exist within an alternate dimension. Which brings me to a cool feature of immersive portals: alternate dimensions! The mod adds 5 alternate dimensions for you to use, and I recommend using immersive_portals:alternate_5. It's a void world, and it helps not only in smoother transitions, but also in lag management as it is a void world, so the client doesn't have to render much. I'm not sure if you've taken a look at the commands that immersive portals adds, but if you haven't, I would highly recommend looking at /portal and the wiki page to find motivation and ideas for fun new builds, as well as speed up/enhance any new creations. For example, each portal has hidden settings which are only accessible through commands. Turning fuseView on for the rollercoaster portals could let you see both the roller coaster and any objects behind the portal as well, essentially acting as if the upside down rollercoaster was in the world, and not a portal. (Fusing the two views together.) There is so much more cool stuff, and I wish you luck if you decide to explore these! (The proper wiki page is a bit hard to get to, it is on the mod author's own website)

The fact that the loop lasted longer than any loop of that size IRL should last makes it more like an SCP

You should make the upside down one closer since Minecraft has that weird system for teleporting and making it further away adds a hefty delay when teleporting Would also help with the invisible minecart when it's looping, because of how far you are the minecart unrenders itself

this made your life so much harder tho LOL for me the absolute best way to make roller coasters in minecraft is with the Traincarts plugin and the TC Coaster plugin and for the camera I like to use the SmoothCoaster fabric mod (made specifically to work with the Traincarts plugin) and trust me, the roller coasters will look extremely realistic with this combination of plugins and mods lol

Ay if u want it more loopy try making it in 90 degree segments instead of 180 degree segments. Does take 2 more portals tho but i think it would be worth it
