i love how your carpentry style matches your skating style - very detail-oriented and understated
a dad who knows how to build skate stuff is the best kind of dad
I'm impressed with your unwavering loyalty to Joe Boxer.
Babe, wake up! Papa Ben uploaded
We need more content like this, Ben! :D I wouldn't mind if this pivots into a basic carpentry channel.

BEN YOU ARE A INSPIRATION FOR ME . I M 39 YEARS . IM FROM CHILE. AND IM A 90S SKATER AND . DAD I HAVE TWO KIDS . . AND SKATEBOARDING IS IN MY MIND EVERY DAY . SORRY MY ENGLISH . GREETINGS FROM CHILE.
13:53 that fs shuv was crazy! kid's gonna style on these fools in a year or two
Damn this basketball court is your backyard? Dream yard!
i cracked my head today building a ledge and skating it. but you said, it's on you!
Love me a Ben video. Either helping me figure out a skate trick or helping me learn how to fix the walls in my house lol.. now DIY skate stuff.
This is so awesome. Doing remolding we throw away so much granite every demo I’ve never thought to repurpose it into a ledge rather than onto a cabinet or something. Super cool!
This has to be the most over-built box I have ever seen. Absolutely amazing work. I love it!!!
You should add some thin rubber pads on the bottom so it doesn't move even on slick surfaces if you move it and it gets rid of some of those uneven surfaces! Really cheap and easy solution, it also mutes the sound a bit.
The neighbor is looking out with his binoculars and saying honey he's at it again. 😃
"Just know, sometimes I do stuff I probably shouldn't.." lmao😂
Smooth flatground and a perfect ledge is all you need!
At my old job we had a granite countertop in the kitchen that I would day dream about skating all the time. This video scratched a very particular itch
bens out here ballin with the tajima caulking gun. just as nice as a granite skate top. love it.
Name something Ben Can’t do!? Your a beast man much love from Vegas!
I just realized that you and Vancouver Carpenter are the same person. You are one of my fav skaters here because of how you break down so much! A few years ago, when I was looking up how to hang, mud, tape, and finish drywall, your carpentry videos were the best I could find explaining how to do everything. Because of your vids I was able to do a smaller repair after a pipe busted at a friend's house, a kitchen wall for another friend, and my parents wall after a hurricane damaged a window and in turn damaged 2 walls inside. I'm not sure what to do with this information, but thanks man! I'll never get tired of your videos!
Dude! First time watcher, was so surprised when you popped out a switch back Fifty.... Thats definitely one trick that shows a depth of trick bag.... Its so awkward! Just got back into skateboarding (35) and my boss let me salvage a broken granite countertops and this video was Exactly the proof of concept that i needed to see! Dig the content
Awesome ledge Ben ever thought about hitting the top with sandpaper? Not sure if a scratch Patten would hold in the wax and break in the ledge faster? I can't wait to build a ledge again it's been years. Last ramp I built was so I could board slide my old truck. Also what's good with that tennis court? Do you have a private skatrpark now? I have a soft spot for tennis court diy skateparks. For a few years we had one and it was the spot to be.
I bet every sk8er wants one for him/herself ^^
A handy tutorial. This is really helpful for people stuck for new things to skate, and maybe lookin to do a bit DIY?
At least I'm not the only one worried about spiders under the box/ledge. 🤣🤣
well worth it man them board slides were butter
Glad your knee is feeling better!
I loved the bit about the surface and how for blunt slides you actually want something with tiny divots for the wax to sit in. A totally flat surface can be really sticky. I found this out because i was skating a piece of ground for months, and it had a paint job on the floor that was a little less than perfect. It was slick but the paint wasn't 100% even, but it dried very hard (korean roof-treatment paint, if you're familiar). 360 slides were the easiest they've ever been, power slides too. Then I went to a skatepark with REALLY smooth concrete ground, and I couldn't believe that I was sticking so much more on the impossibly smooth concrete (it was almost glassy). I had a similar experience skating marble floors. Stuck a few times.
Holy crap, Ben. I didn't realize you were actually that good at skating lol. SSBSTS?! What!
the marble top in combination with the skatelite is a nice touch. awesome creation

The skatelite is what really makes it slide properly :)
When you first dropped the box down that shine on the granite was just amazing😊
The ledge looks amazing with that granite texture!
i like how you have all the high end makita tools!
Dude!! The drywall master! I watch your other channel lol. Had no idea you did this one too.
There is something really relaxing about watching you build stuff...

Kids getting better!!!
This is by far one of coolest ledges I've seen built from someone. I'm not one hundred percent sure if you remember the video of you making the concrete ledge at the Richmond skatepark, but I was wondering if it held up, and if the time comes will you ever take out the grinder and grind a fat 1/4 inch off and make it new?
Both you and your son are RIPPING. Great video, Ben!
You remind me of the old front runner for The Barenaked Ladies. Respect.
That thing looks like a great time
Ben building things then skating them is the best! More please, That basketball court has lots of room for obstacles!
your videos are plainly the best 👌
Marble slides better and your wheels will not squeak as much as on granite. On thenother hand, marble is slippery as hell. We have Stalin plaza here in Czech and the marble parts are just a slippery madness, you have to get used to it.
so many little skillfulltricks I would have never thought of. Like marking the top boardand then flipping it to align the support boards.

It's almost always easier, faster and more accurate to mark something directly than to pull out the tape measure :)

Looks so fun Ben.. like it grinds like the Pulaski ledges when the where pristine..
I would've killed for instructional videos like this when I started skating (late 90s).
This is a dream I’ve been having and here it is!!! I remember looking for a long time to find a marble spot
Love this content man! Please do more build videos like this!
I was thinking Philly ledges right before you put “think love park”
That box looks so fun! Good stuff, Great work! Love the channel.
Doing badass stuff as usual! Glad you’re always kicking it man!
Definitely do appreciate the info on what you could expect from a surface like this in terms of grinding / sliding.
Glad to see the new channel and the sweet ledge. Glad you're still shredding Ben!
Always good to see you back at it. Thanks for the content Ben.

That’s a sick little spot! Do you share that court with the neighbors?
RDSFU! 🔥 Ben knows what's up! 🀄
That thing looks so fun! Wish I had the time and tools to do that.

Thats a thing of beauty right there.
Great stuff as always Ben! Fun fact: even though Ben is a carpenter, he also knows how to lay pipe.
Awesome video Ben!
Great use of an old island!
really enjoyed this bro :) that mini skatepark is like my dream
Looks so fun
That is one beautiful skate box my teen fantasy was having one .
I first discovered you on the ledge built video from 3 years ago, this one is great too
8:50 Hella sick tushie bro
I always wanted to slide /grind a granite tabletop, so sick!
Thanks Ben I enjoy your videos man

Great job on the box and switch bs 5-0!
I loved this video so much
Would 🧡 to see some more 7.75 deck reviews🛹
Nice build, that's going to be one of the fastest grinding ledges in that park.... Maybe in the whole town. LoL Keep up the great work and skate on... 😁👍
I’ve got a wicked heavy bench that’s hard to move so I made skates for it. 2 appropriately sized casters and 1 set of old trucks and wheels screwed off to some scrap wood and I roll it around like a big shopping cart
Great video thank you!
Really expensive ledge but I've always wanted to try this.

The granite was free. The most expensive part was the lumber.
Nice build Ben. Could be worth running the diamonds over the granite to bring it back to honed and open up the pores of the stone
Those deadlifts are paying off! 😃

You could consider hitting the edge with clear lacquer much like sealing a concrete curb. A few layers and you might not experience the stick factor as much.
Beautiful work
