Also the glass is *extremely hot* and our doctors are already busy around the clock dealing with other more necessary burn patients.

I dunno about practical, if it were me I'd just make sure that any and all caravans and invasions have to path past the fishbowl, probably multiple times across multiple z levels winding around it, so that they can see what my fort has done. If I were an invader and saw that the fort I was attacking had literally trapped demons in a fishbowl, I'd think twice. Does that sort of intimidation actually work in game? No, of course not. But, similar to the 40 z-level tall perfectly sheer cliff, engraved across its whole surface, with a massive ramping bridge leading to the entrance to my fort in the middle of the cliff, just imagining the legends that I'd be spawning, the tales of the great Fireorb full of demons that you don't actually believe until you're sent as an emissary from some other faction and see it for yourself... that's a goal worth pursuing.

Sometimes it's not about what you can do with it, but simply what you can do. A little fun project for yourself, or an art piece to show off to the world, whether it's just the world of Dwarf Fortress, or the reality in which we live in. Thank you for showing this off.

Nice fort, i struggle to keep my dwarves feed and dressed, and you build a bowl with demons! 😂

I don't think the dwarves can see through the glass, but imagine living in a complex built around a lava aquarium full of presumably confused demons. That's going to have interesting psychological effects on the fort, I imagine...

This one was such a treat to watch, the contrast of the black obsidian and mint green glass was really visually pleasing.

I'm always amazed by the ideas you come up with

I would build a training ground around the perimeter of the top of the tank. Then i'd make a militia group of demon hunters who train there snd who have to kill a demon once a year to prove their skill.
