This has GOT to be the only video on KZread about how to make your kitchen look permanently dirty 😂 It looks frickin awesome guys!

I feel like this team is ready to design and build their own house - no longer creating sets that look amazing...but an entire house that is incredible and intricately detailed and 100% them.

As a contractor, you guys did a lot of complicated tasks here. You are genuinely very talented people. I already know getting that plywood to bend like you needed it to was no easy challenge.

I'm 67 and even though I've never played any of the 'Fallout' series, I love the music tracks and have all of them in my Media server collection! Your enthusiasm is addictive and after seeing some of the scenery from various game clips, etc., you managed to capture the whole essence of the game, right down to the worn paint on the old (but reliable) fridge, the flickering old CRT TV, and the scuff marks on the bar. The parting shot with the dusty haze was picture *PERFECT!!* What an absolute masterpiece.😍👍👍

I play Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 and I will be 78 in September. Not a great player, but it's fun to learn. I have made it to Level 41 in 76. I know - much more to go.

We're gonna need a tour of the entire space at this rate! Murals, workrooms, now a kitchen - it'll be amazing to see them all together!

13:32 The problem with those super old tvs is that many of the electronic components where cased in wax paper. Resistors, capacitors and many other things will be in a severe state of deterioration. The electronic boards on those tvs need a pretty intense restoration before they can be put back into use.

For your knowledge: People in North America just put bars in their house in the 50s. It was like and aspirational entertainment thing. My grandparents house has a full solid Oak bar my grandfather installed when they bought the house. They used to use it for the huge house parties they threw in the 70s and 80s.

The real reason for having an intern. 18:55 to make a rug for your post apocalyptic pupper. That dog looks soooo comfortable.

I love that you're both essentially living out your childhood fantasies about where you'd live and what job you'd have. Living the dream!

With the TV's you were probably getting spikes passing through the 300 Ohm UHF/VHF input. With the laptop not plugged in you we on a floating ground which could discharged any potential through the RF tuner. Also a lot of the cheaper converter boxes aren't always the cleanest or best grounded things out there and I bet both of the two sets just had everything off the neutral line (pre-ground pin). They are most likely fused, so easily repairable. Also with the age of most of the capacitors in those things they are probably hyper sensitive to any changes (also an easy fix).

As a builder, handyman and carpenter. You guys freakin nailed this. I wish i could find some people as skilled as you guys are. So well done. One of my favorites so far

This woman needs to make a living being an interior decorator of all things aesthetically pleasing. This looks amazing. I could actually see folks from the States paying for her to come over and redecorate/renovate their homes. Great job.

If you clean regularly, you know it cannot be dirt. I used my grandfather's paint & tools cabinet in the kitchen and it still has all the old stains from the cans.

@@williamfleming7558 Are you suggesting to have real dirt on a kitchen that's gonna be used to eat, just to keep the style? 😨 Isn't it better, and more sanitary, to clean it frequently? (so you can avoid using aggressive chemicals) I mean, if you dust the surfaces and use a wet cloth (maybe water and a bit of vinegar) where you cook, every day, you should be able to preserve the stains... and eventually repaint them. I know that's a kitchen in a studio, so they have to clean it only after use and before using it again if days has passed.

Holy crap! 50's ad Martina was just about perfect, right attitude, right makeup, just great. I really enjoyed this episode, the 50's were my childhood. Well done Nerdforge and friends. PS It never ceases to amaze me just how well washes and dry brushing can age a prop.

the strange sort of melancholy that i got seeing the transition from the bright shiny kitchen to the grungy, smoked out, dark version was so wild. beautiful capturing of that hollowed out and worn vibe!

This turned out so awesome nerdforge!! If your up for the project…. A Last of Us addition could be a pretty sweet new project. like a sitting room attached that’s been corrupt by fungus… just an idea but keep doing what you guys do! Can’t wait to see what you do next!

For the first time ever I didn’t skip the ad read. That transition was perfect and it was motivated by Hans’s whole project with the tv! Mwuah, chef’s kiss!

Martina and Hans - thanks a gazillion for creative vibe, awesome video editing and cool ideas! Btw, Hans, if you read this - keep old TVs, they can work with small single-board computers that have analog video output. Old TVs often need capacitors to be replaced, and you get super awesome good looking old TV.

I have been an avid Fallout player since the original and also an avid Nerdforge follower and supporter since the very early days, as well, and I gotta tell you - you nailed this one! So very very cool! (As always). The aesthetic is spot-on! Congratulations!

I know, it's from Wall-E and not from Fallout, but I think a plant in a boot would be a nice detail. Anyway, the kitchen looks awesome!

As per the TV's it the Capacitors in them. The larger Electrolytic type capacitors have a life, due the dielectric degrading over time. It is amazing how easy it is to change the caps and how they come back to life.

Old televisions have tubes and boards that really hold on to dust. That can make them burn out. I love what you've done with the place!

Excellent result! And you were outstanding as a 1950s television commercial housewife. The makers of Fallout ought to shoot a cameo of you in this persona and put it into the game.. Congratulations to both of you.

Honestly the way you're setting up your workshop is how sims 4 houses wind up during certain challenges😅😅 I love the way that every room is a different vibe, it fills my geeky gamer hearty lol

These guys built a TV set with like 3 people in total wtf 😭

So many cool devices and all the decoration that fit perfectly in there. So nice Hansi made this TV work.

I love that different areas in your studio have completely different vibes but commit to them fully.

Martina, as someone who grew up in the 1950s, you're place looks like my grandmother's restaurant from that time period! LOVE the fridge! Love the TILE! I also love the light teal color of the cabinets, even though in the 1950s, they didn't have cabinets that color. Also, my mom has a Kit-Kat clock in yellow on the wall. Those were extremely popular in the 1950s. I laughed about those hanging lamps with the pull chain. My father had those in the basement! The first TV is from the 50s; the second looks more from the 60s or 70s. The little TV is definitely NOT from the 1950s. My family got our first TV in 1954 and it was a big clunky thing. I love the fact that no only did you get the portable TV to work, but it had the STAND BY logo!!! How cool! The AD for Fallout is MAGNEFICIENT!!!! You got the 1950s vibe down perfectly! 😻

Those final shots at the end looked amazing. With the music playing and everything it looked like a realistically rendered version of the video game. It was messing with my brain WAY too much :D I want something like that one of these days.

I think an orange or red light or even blue or green light shining through that kitchen window would create cool effects too.

This single video has made me so excited to own my own house just so I can do stuff like this to make it as unique as possible

Amazing project! The TVs dying after a bit of usage sounds a lot like old capacitors failing after many decades, although they would require time to fully repair, these TVs were designed to be fixed, so a quick google search for the repair manual, a multi-meter and a soldering iron should be enough to fix them, you still need to find the replacement parts though.

The weathering just hurt so much to watch. I know it was the vibe they were going for and yes it totally loooked perfect as if out of the game, but I would have been totally incapable of doing that to such a lovely kitchen that I had spent so many hours painting. The turquoise wardrobes were just sooo gorgeous to look at, the colour was incredible, I loove that colour, its my favorite, my whole craftroom is decorated in that colour, white and gold. Please excuse me, I'm just going to cry a little in the corner for the death of the 50's kitchen I would have liked to have. Great job by the way with the video ad, that was such a cool transition. Back to crying.

Nice trick with self-adhesive film as a painting mask - i always use SA tape and paper and sometimes it not as plastic as i need.

This kitchen build is Amazing! The bar counter even looks exactly like the bar counters you can build in settlement build mode in Fallout 4! Also, that dress you were wearing for the Fallout 76 sponsored ad spot, 11/10 would definitely wear it!

The good thing about a post apocalyptic kitchen: you never have to clean it again to make it looking even more real 😂

15:45 - best part like you look at the TV, convincingly surprised, and then the advertisment. 😂 Sometimes you watch content creators with the wildest placements; not matching to their content at all or just reading down a script for 15s and done entirely but your combinations of project and placement is literally brilliant. Found you through your trip to canada for an LTT-Video and since Im trying to watch as much of your videos as possible. I liked it more pristine honestly. And this is coming from someone that LOVES grungy apocolypse stuff. I feel like keeping it clean and just having it be a prewar kitchen would have been a cool concept too.

There is literally nothing left to do here, it's perfect in every way. 12k hours in Fallout 4 alone, by far my favorite game franchise. One day when I get a house I will have a fallout bar/room and will certainly get inspiration from this. Ya'll are amazing.

Those visuals at the end were incredible. The way that was filmed REALLY looked like it was pulled directly from a videogame lol.

Doing quite a lot of CRT repairs (which is dangerous due to high voltages stored in the tube, you need to discharge that first and not have it plugged in for obvious reasons), with these pre-80's "random" kills it's most often the capacitors that are dry or blown and need replacing (and often the switch but seeing as you can turn it on that shouldn't be an issue). The flyback can also be dead, but that happens rarely. Beyond that most components don't commonly die. (Also if it matters, watch out for burn-in)

You guys are simply amazing! I have done some theater dressing and your initial set was spot on 50’s and then “Poof!” The weathering brought it home!!! You have created a Fallout kitchen and you both (including your buddy) extremely talented, just so damn good at everything. Thank you for sharing this lovely environment with all of us.
