I'd buy the course and play with the bot if the bot 1. randomly speaks Russian 2. recites the whole Bing Chilling randomly 3. sings "Rook B1 Rook B1" when Rb1 is played 4. screams "AND HE SACRIFICES, THE ROOOOOOOOK" or whatever piece you sacrifice, in-game or in the feedback 5. randomly curse kids 6. randomly tease other streamers

Levi does play very human. He hit me with the Hillbilly attack on Caro on low ELO. That is one of the most common responses at low elo. I really enjoy it. Drill shuffling the course has it's place, but Levi is better for simulated practice. He goes off course (like humans). It's pretty awesome.

Just the basic beginner course raised my ELO from 600 to 1000. A course is only as strong as you make it though. You have to listen and practice and listen again and practice again. It’s not like The Matrix, where it uploads to your brain and you’re instantly more knowledgeable.

BIG congrats, man. This is awesome. Hope it keeps getting developed, and become a staple for us all! My two cents: - I'd still love to have some form of game review, because it seems like playing the whole game is kinda useless, if I'm just on there to play the opening. We've all become so reliant on GR, and it feels a bit weird not having it. - And I'd love to have a lot more feedback on the opening, and how e.g. my middlegame was affected by it, the central ideas of the opening, and whether I demonstrated understanding of them or if I've missed a few, etc. - Also maybe the bot's lines could be more like playing your coach, rather than just some opponent..? Maybe learning could be accelerated that way? I'm no programmer, just a 1200 who wants to learn a lot of openings.. Best of luck!

When you deviate, the bot should say what was the correct move in the feedback (or moves if there are options in the course) It should also not deviate so much, or maybe not at all, because if I just play it to test my course knowledge, I'd like it to play into a line I studied in the course. If it deviates early, I just feel like wasting time against a bot 😅 Honnestly for now I would play the opening and maybe around 6 moves just to get full feedback, and then resign (I dont care playing against bots)

  • @justinbombach9873

The purpose of playing the bot isn't just to see if you memorized the first five moves, but to test your of the entire opening. If you're just going to play the first six moves, then you're just working on memorization, and not getting actual practice.

Yo Levy and Levi! I'm loving this feature. I have been looking for a way to practice openings, and I have not found anything that works well for me yet. I think Levi has great potential to address exactly this kind of need. I can see youre still working on features, it could be fantastic! Keep it up!

levi bot needs a harder version also, it more often than not repeat moves in a completely winning position (in hard mode)

I have bought Gambits for Black few days ago and was surprised that Chessly has somewhat better features than Chessable. And Levi is super helpful to train the openings. I can recommend to add some features: 1) When I deviate from the opening possition, I would like to see the correct move in the feedback. Even if my move was also good. The whole point is to learn the opening and if I deviate - porbably I forgot the line. 2) Would be cool to choose chapters of the course. For example, I want to train portugies gambit, but bot starts with d4 which is not what I want to train right now. 3) It seems like bot chooses some opening lines more offten than the others. Maybe it is realistic to what players of my elo usually playing, but I would also like to train other lines too. Maybe you could add some additional settings like how often bot will pick some rare lines.
