Saddest part of the video was when he said “Alexa turn on the workbench” and my Alexa stated that I indeed do not have a workbench to turn on…

John, this is amazing. I follow Nick Padulla also. He stated he wanted his workbench to be an extension of his quality of work when customers come into his shop. You have just achieved this as well. When you have potential customers come into your shop and they see this work of art as a workbench that you use everyday, it becomes a selling point. Beautifully done sir and the carving work was the finishing touch

Not only is that workbench HEAVENLY! But I love the shout-outs to other creators.
I really enjoy watching John's bare fingers get so close to spinning blades. Edge of your seat suspense!

Yeah, that scene with the radial arm saw was pure excitement. I think Stumpy Nubs did a video on that.

@@jimmyers264 Mostly he focused on the insane things the manuals presented on how to do stuff, like wearing a full lab coat and tie. Or cutting sheet goods by putting the blade horizontal, out from the table at gut height, then pushing the sheet through it standing on end. Or using crazy lawnmower shaping blades. Modern RAS units have blade shrouds and guards, too
Sunday morning with a ridiculously cool (and expensive) project. It really doesn't get any better. Thanks for showing the good and the "F-ups" too. It really does make watching entertaining and reassures me that I'm not the only one that waits to the very end of a project to irreversibly screw it up. Thanks!
I love Blacktail Studio!! Also, you should do a "re-do" or "update/fix" video where you do something to adjust the height of the table. It would be a cool part 2 type thing and you would get a taller table.
I love that you include the mess ups and changes to plans. Also love the acknowledgements to other people. Super fun to watch you and makes me want to start doing some better projects!
That "new" radial arm saw is absolutely terrifying. And now I want one

WOW. That "new", old saw 10:40 into the video looks DANGEROUS 👍🙈👍. It is very useful, I get that.... but, but, but. Keep building huge, awesome furniture, and stay safe!

This bench and the Pedulla bench are two wildly different videos and styles. I loved them both. Incredible work. It looks amazing. I love the functionality. I love the details. I'm so glad you did the front the way you did. I was looking forward to this after seeing the snippets on insta and it was worth the wait.

Looks great. If it’s too low for you consider extending the legs with some of that contrasting wood. Keep up the good work!

Awesome build mate. Thanks for the shoutout!
Incredible build. I love you showcase mistakes and the fixes for them. My mentor always said the difference between a pro and an amateur is the ability to fix/hide mistakes.
Gorgeous workbench. I always feel so inspired to create something beautiful after watching your videos. I love walnut, its my favorite wood by far. That other wood you used looks gorgeous with it. Ive never heard of it before this video. I love learning about new types of wood!
I have been watching your videos for a while now and for some reason just now watched this video and I am very impressed with your ability to craft something that is beautiful workmanship and extremely functional, thank you very much for sharing your projects.
Agreed. The Pedulla bench is unreal. Your bench is pretty awesome too. Good stuff.
Awesome and inspirational. I recently retired, and decided to do wood work. I am just learning, and your worktable has inspired me. I want to be just like you when I grow up.
Loved the video, I’ve been off work a year with vertigo, so I’ve seen a lot of your videos, found them to be great and fun! With this one, the bench looks great, whilst watching it , especially with some of the joints, a few of the expressive lines I sometimes use came to mind… such as “bodge it and sod it” and “close enough for farm work “ came to mind. lol. But it all came good and worked out in the end. “Build it use it bruise it!” Awesome. Keep up the good work. Ithankukindly.
Thanks for continuing to evolve and sharing your journey. It's been fun to watch you and your team grow. Keep up the great work.
This workbench perfectly matches your over the top builds. I love it. I also think this will probably be the trend setter of beginning to integrate technology into traditional workbench builds. And Im excited to see where it goes. Well done
Hi 👋, John, very interesting work bench, I built a work bench many years ago, 3Mt x 1-5 Mt , I made the legs the same method as you have made, out of 1 inch thick through and through plywood, with the mitre locking joint, I did put an infill in either end of solid oak, so the framework could be bolted together, the workbench was a vacuum table as well, just over four years ago, I downsize, mainly I moved to France, I’m now in the process of making a small workbench similar to what you have just made, and I still have quite a lot of my machinery, Even a Watkin EKA Tenoner , SCM PLANNER SCM THICKNESSER , 10 hp spindle moulder, tilting head Felder . It looks like you have a decent size workshop, stay safe, and I wish you all the success for the future, Phil from the moulin France.
The bench turned out absolutely beautiful. Love that you share all the mess up as well as the good. Great job as always
The thinking you have to do with all the tiny details is amazing!! Nailed it!!
Beautiful job. Can't wait to see more updates an projects and many more videos soon my friends. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend fab On. Weld on. Keep Making. stay squirrely God bless.
I love how you made a jig, and clamped your work piece to the radial arm saw, then proceeded to put your hand by the business end anyway. Your perfect score of amazing me at least once per video that you still have all of your appendages is still intact 👍
Fantastic build, and as much as I would love another great work bench, I'd love a set of the hole saws more.
Just absolutely gorgeous workbench
Cut it down the center… then bend one side of the matching slab… then cut that to the same size and put the 2 halves together in the center somehow.
That is a beautiful piece of function art. Great job.
Love the bench! Also had a good laugh @15:09 with that bit.
Best part of my daily commute. These videos got me into woodworking.made my first pieces this past spring. Wish I could show to get opinion on what to do better.

So many references to puckered tookus during the build, then the final showpiece carving sorta kinda almost resembles a puckered tookus.... 😂 Fitting indeed.
Any video where John is carving wood is a brilliant video in my book. Amazing table, amazing talent.

So cool that you give a shoutout to Pedulla Studio. So many youtubers don‘t and just take credit for other people‘s awesome ideas. Great and fun video as always! Also a gigantic and incredibly cool bench build!
That is one good looking work bench. Very much enjoyed watching this build.
Man watching that old radial arm saw is a real pucker factor moment. OSHA must be having kittens right about now 😂. Beautiful bench old mate. Cheers from outback Australia 🇦🇺👍
I wanted to make a workbench just like this for the longest time
I built my first workbench based on your early bench video. It was an awesome learning experience- which is a nicer way that I F'd it up along the way but learned some valuable lessons. My biggest problem was that the perimeter frame was not square. Maybe off by 1/2". And I forgot to consider a 1/2" stand off from the adjustable table feet and so my Table Saw bench top is not exactly even with the workbench to use as an outfeed table. Regardless, I can adjust and make it work. But I did some drawers and open storage. Only think I should have incorporated a built in vice. And I used the workspace casters that you step on to engage- same ones from your video. They are awesome, but I mounted a bit too low and my table is heavy AF and it's difficult to engage. Anyway, awesome design. I would have maybe did your logo on the top face and filled in the voids with epoxy.
You should consider using parts from a sit &stand desk. This will give you the ability to go from a 24.5 hight to a 45 or more depending on witch 1 you buy. All electric and some with programmable settings.
Well done! That looks beautiful.
Great video, makes me feel better with my woodworking, watching John dealing tear out.
Awesome build. LOVE your shop
The absolutely best workbench I’ve ever seen! Amazing!!
Beautiful job, looks amazing!!
As most of us regulars know John came from the Suck it and See School of Wizardry and Woodcutters. The bench really does reflect John, no-one is perfect and it is this which has attracted nearly 1,000,000 of us to subscribe. The finished bench looks awesome and hopefully will serve John well for many years. Good luck to all of you entering the bench competition. Good post, please take care 👍
@John Malecki Wicked bench...That caving has a touch of Studio V coolness in it, I love it...gotta make me one of those benches. & yeah the Pedulla bench with those fishtail joints...omg yeah!
love my radial arm saw, but with the blade horizontal to the plane with a moments inattention you could give yourself an unintentional appendectomy pretty easy, love the results of the build though
Thanks John! This turned out great!
I have the Benchcrafted Crisscross Solo too, and yes, that looks like the correct amount of toe. And, my cheap-ask Grizzly drill press handled drilling the oak in my chop effortlessly. ;-). The bench looks great, and the wave logo came out very nice. Pedulla's bench is very nice. Another good build. If I build yours, I think I'm adding air shocks on one end. I want to get it bouncing, what with all the underlighting. (ha ha). Good stuff guys.
Next time you plan to make lock miter corners on a box, legs, cabinet, etc. save yourself time, effort and a hassle- get a Lock Miter Master setup jig from Infinity. It is a simple, little, inexpensive jig that works with virtually every brand of lock miter bit (has limited capability when used with lock miter shaper bits with replaceable cutters.) No fiddling with multiple test cuts!
Love that locking miter bit. Used one to build a new pinball cabinet for a Bally Playboy. Amazing, but took forever to setup. The directions for adjusting had the exact opposite effect.

Directions are for the weak. One must write their own owners manual in life.
Nice! You need some thick rubber floor mats like they use in restaurant kitchens and then you can run the cord to your table between them and save you knees from the floors.
Awesome build 🎉one of my favorites
So beautiful. And. .... I have to say I also LOVE padauk!
That's a beautiful table. I like the colors of the table.
Good morning Morgan's, the deer sure like the green grasses on the little clearing. Sorry to hear about Pete I will be donating a little money to him, hope it helps some. Logging is a very dangerous job. I knew a logger he had a tree that was hung up in another tree fall on him it broke his back and he was paralyzed from the chest down for the rest of his life, he cut logs his whole life and was very experienced, be careful out there. You guys have a nice day
Love your work It’s always so cool and keeps me entertained 🙂😃
Brilliant video, thanks
Keep posting more videos like this. Honest woodworking, no tiktok etc. Your personality is awesome why waste it on someone else's bad ideas. Present your own!!!
Gorgeous!!
11:17 coping saw blade was hangin on for dear life! 😂
Some big walnut or ash feet to jack the table up would look nice. They could be shrouds for leveling feet or wheels. Nice project!
Hell yeah! That workbench is such an eye candy!!! 👌
Keep pushing yourself dude. Truly inspiring work 🤙
Really cool John, looks amazing! Keep the videos coming brother and keep showcasing that talent
Love it! Would way rather watch building videos than tool videos or anything else. Beautiful workbench
Absolutely beautiful!! I'd be too afraid to use it after
I had two Ryobi Routers that I kept having issues with the "collet" slipping. Upon investigation, there were no collets for either router. The shaft was the collet. Needless to say I no longer have those. I got a Bosch to replace the router table one and I have a DeWalt trim router. No collet slip yet...
Its beautiful!!!
Nice .... good work Добра работа!
Very nice, great build
Been waiting for this. Awesome work!
Wow. You are the king of the power sanding! And i can't wait for your fish table!!
As someone who is putting together their first work bench after watching hundreds of videos, including yours, I can't wait to get to your level of finesse. I thought I was being clever by mounting an iPad to my bench. But for me, it's for watching all the instructional KZread videos 😂 Thanks for inspiring!
nice job very much like the bench.the front looks like a championship belt!!!
Great job! Love the color scheme. Reminds me of the Cleveland Browns! WOOF!WOOF!!

Big John, that workbench is sick AF dude!
Beautiful bench!
I am 6'3" tall as well, building a Jack Bench was the best thing I have ever done for my back. Also, you had better be positive about the RAS because if you think the ShopSmith guys are rabid then you haven't met the RAS guys. I had a ShopSmith RAS, btw. It was awesome.
It looks like you lined the tool tray with Paduk. I built a T style guitar neck from that. The last I have from my days of hobby guitar building. Absolutly beautiful bench. Build awsoum projects with it.
