@@brendanbloom3366 Nuggets never missed only Murray in playoffs, so we don't know. Whenever Murray was missing there were always also 1 or 2 more starters missing plus 2 or 3 key bench players missing at the same time. Jokic proved he could win a playoffs series (against historically great Lillard at that time) with just one starter (Porter Jr) who was also not fully healthy and a bunch of undrafted and third string bench players, so it's very possible Jokic could make NBA Finals without Murray. Jokic also proved he could win a game against NBA champions GSW who had one of the best starting 5 ever (Curry, Thompson, Green, Poole and Wigging) with 14ppg Aaron Gordon who came to Nuggets at half season and undersized bench player Monte Morris, which no other player in NBA could do with such 2nd and 3rd best option. And also, it's not just about Murray, it's the fact that Jokic was missing his 2nd best player on a team built with just role players only. Give Jokic any of the 2nd best players on other contender teams and he wins the title, because most other teams have a better 2nd option than Murray (Brown, Kyrie, Thompson (before injury), Lillard (on the Bucks), Davis, Maxey, Sabonis or Fox (pick which is 2nd option on Kings), George, Booker, etc)!

LOOOOL It's ridiculous mentioning Suns swept Nuggets without even knowing Nuggets played at guard position with Austin Rivers who they signed on a 10-day contract before playoffs because of all the injuries and played undrafted 3rd string guard 5'7 tall Campazzo against two MVP candidates that season Booked and Chris Paul! LOOOOL Porter Jr didn't even make it through the Suns series, he got injured too and was averaging single digit points that series because of injury and back pain. MJ did hit 7 threes in the first half of a playoff game against Portland once. The magic number is 33% and he shot at .327 for his career, and that's including his first 4 years at roughly 18% at less than one attempt per game. Career wise he only attempted 1.7 threes per game. Strangely his best % was for the 17 games he returned after the first retirement where he shot 50%. And most notably the seasons where he attempted the most threes (3 per game) were his best 4 years, ranging from 37-43%.

Yeah but you know that today’s NBA is positionless (basically), so it isn’t that big of an issue. Hypothetically speaking, that starting unit does create a lot of space in the court, everybody can literally shoot from anywhere from 1-5, almost every player can defend pretty good (Jokic is the only drawback), but he makes up on the offensive end. Jokic can read/determine plays before occurring, always looking up ahead, his a dangerous player on P&R’s, he can post up, draws defenders towards him, most of the times makes the right plays and can rebound for somebody who is not athletic.

This is a captivating series! Looking forward to more. A Jordan & Jokic combo is among the scariest duos I can think of in a flowing and functional offense as opposed to just taking two all-time greats and slapping them on the same team and wondering what might happen.

This is a perfect roster lol even ignoring MJ himself and substituting him with another max-level combo guard ie Booker. Williams (PG in college until his massive growth spurt), White, and Bridges especially would all be able to operate in both PnR and DHOs with a big and be trusted to initiate the offense. Caruso & Royce as well, albeit less effectively than the other 3. That being said, all 5 would be very active off ball and understand maintaining spacing while also being opportunistic with basketcuts for layups and be able to be knock down spot up guys that will be in the right place at the right time. The backcourt and wings on this team has great positional size and 2way versatility, which all pairs perfectly with Jokic. But then the true beauty of this team is that Jokic's backups have comparable enough skillsets to run the exact same actions. Hart in LAC and his chemistry with Mann is a great example, and Naz is just a hyper-dynamic basketball player. You could run the same base offense regardless of personnel which is huge for continuity between starters and the bench since they'd have a shared identity. I'd even go so far as to say, I'd want to see Jokic on the court with Naz especially but also see about the twin towers approach with Hart. People forget that Malone played Jokic at PF next to Plumlee for ~8min per game from 2018-2020 and the Nuggets were +7.7 NET RTG in those minutes.

Well said. Jokic was drafted as a power forward initially to play alongside Nurkic. When Nurkic was traded, Jokic became a full time center. When asked about which NBA players he liked, a young Jokic mentioned (Duncan, Nowitski and Lamarcus Aldridge) which all happen to be power forwards. He didn't mention centers like Shaq. I agree, an ideal line up with Jokic is to have him play the 4. My all time lineup is this PG Lebron Sf: Jordan Sf: Bird PF: Jokic C: olajuwon In today's NBA it would be PG : Jrue Holiday Sg: Klay Thompson Sf: Kris Middleton PF: Jokic C: Naz Reid
