You can shoot threes over a guy with no wing defense, you should absolutely score inside over weak defenders too. Sorry your 6’9 midget center isn’t going to cut it anymore for people who invest in interior scoring

I think most people don’t upgrade their interior D right away so give it time. Post lockdown, anchor and other badges will put a stop to that

@@luvisrage4k97 because the defender probably focused on all offense and didn’t upgrade interior defense enough and focused mostly on block. He probably has a 70 something interior defense so he can’t properly contest it. Just my opinion, because interior defense is your contest in the same way perimeter defense is a contest on a jump shooter. That’s how you stop post scorers by upgrading interior defense and having a decent post move lock down.

Once everyone’s defense gets better the good and bad post scorers will be separated

And the crazy part is that people will do everything besides just making rim protectors to stop people in the post. They’ll just call the game/post scorers broken instead

The 7’3 you were playing was backing up instead of constantly going towards you. Also kept cancelling out his analog contests with block animations messing up his contests. I think the post scoring looks fine here just nobody knows how to play defense lol

I think the best thing to do is just make it a smaller green window, because it is a good shot. But it should not go in every single time when it isn’t even green. Making it so you have to green, and making the green window smaller will help a lot.

@@shawnt5205 yes but making the shot should require skill. You can still make the shot but it should be a challenge. Not hold your right stick in a direction and it going in no matter what. When you shoot a three you can’t just hold x down. It requires skill.

Lesson for everybody right here including my boy joe. When contesting post hooks or any back to the basket shot attempt you want to focus more on getting your body up into the shooter while targeting the ball with your contest hand instead of jumping in random spots when out of position . If you look at the windows green windows that are huge he is not making contact with joe.

Trust me guys I been doing this for years on next gen I’ve a defensive tutorial video planned on releasing once everybody is maxed out. I’m telling you guys there is a counter to everything but sometimes as the defender it takes more to counter the offense badge layout is also a key factor with stoping a certain play style.

post hooks probably get grouped in with layups (like they do with pro touch) so when they buffed the layup timing, post hooks probably also got a buff.

Before we say patch this patch that... I want to know what the defender's ratings were, because if they're mid tier then this should absolutely be happening. But yeah, that mistimed green should NOT be going in at all, that I agree with. And with that last guy, it said he was an interior scorer, and I do remember they were saying the names would pretty much be spot on, so I'm going to assume he has no defense at all.

Stopping the bar on green doesn't mean it is a green. Mike Wang even said it, "it might look like you're stopping the bar in the green window but the window shrinks a frame later and you miss" I think this is just the case of the bar shrinking after release.

Why should this absolutely be happening? He doesnt have badges does he? If anything its bronze so if defender has bronze interior defense badges then why should it absolutely be happening? Imma post player and love watching quality post play but the above was not quality lol. Above was cheesing because he had no other goto. Idk why anyone thinks cheesing shouldnt get patched lol. Just my opinion though. Hes legit not even doing any post movies. Just throwing up a hook. Defenders even jumping to contest on some. Only reason he gets open is bc defenders basically start spamming block giving him openings bc he can jus hook at any time and no matter what the green window is the same. Can easily patch this by fixing the green window on hooks or improving effectiveness of defensive badges. Even with no badges on defense, a player should be able to contest another without any badges lol. Theres zero contest basically with hands in his face. Even as a post player im not biased enough to say that the above hooks arent a cheese loll Joe has ability to bully people without a hook when his player gets badges. But this is just plain ole stanky cheese. Lol

A number of things. Usually, I try and bait the hook, then contest aggressively. Wingspan is a big factor though.

I hope 2K continues to get closer to simulation basketball so we can stop looking for these ways to "break" the game. It's not difficult to understand in real life that a skiled big man would score in the post on a small defensively unskilled guard every time. But for some reason we are shocked when it happens in a video game.

They took away ghost contest but that was literally the only way to contest a good post scorer. At least in rec you can double team with a second player close to where he is about to shoot.

I want to make a post score for my first build so badly but I’m always a guard and want to have fun 💀. I don’t have tm8s this year they all went off to college or the military.

It’s a mixture of opponents not having interior defense upgraded and them not contesting properly. In most of these clips, you’re already a quarter or half way into your hooks. The half meters are egregious I agree, but I don’t think we should be suggesting things a day before the game actually releases. Also if you’re guarding hooks you have to anticipate and make sure your hand is up.

You were on fire so me fire gives got random greens this year. Which needs to be removed😂😂😂
