Builds like this are typical for show cars. Friend of my brothers bought an ex-showcar that won lots of awards till it was retired and used as a road car for 4 years before the friend swapped it and paid cash on his car. He intended to fix it up again but doing the bodywork discovered the huge amount of body filler in it and dodgy work. He ended up just trying to fix it so it could be drivable. The engine didn't even run right because they took the goodies off it, but he got that all put back on. The body was the biggest problem as it really needed a new factory shell.

I appreciate the kind words about the build Mike, we will do our best for sure, thanks for tagging along
Looks like the original builder ain't the only one with a horrible taste in stuff.
Those people of Facebook have have no hope for this truck, it is entertaining to read. I have seen cars/trucks on KZread which where in a way more horrific shape and at the end they looked mint once more.
Hmmmm... It seems a little odd that u work for divita auto where it was "stolen" from and somehow ends up BACK at divita auto. There's just too much to this BS scam.
The guy put the original hood on it before he dumped it.
Dunno how I got here but def a zesty rig. Gotta love the builders ambition and I guess yers too. I am too old to get a "SEMA" build myself but you do you. Hopefully you will do something you enjoy vs what anyone else thinks.
Dude this thing is just Canadian Heritage.
Love the 'OG' FJ1100 - Ive got the Suzuki Version an '86 GSXr-1100 💪 Cheers 👍🇦🇺

The welding on the bag mounts is trash
this is a vinwiki worthy story for this truck once it gets finished you should definitely see if theyll let you come on the show!
Well, if the RCMP is on the case, I’m shocked it was ever found. Hell, they can’t find their own asshole to wipe about 300% of the time.
Cool story, I'm intrigued on what you're going to do with this truck...... Subscribed 👍👍
I have recently come across your channel and let me tell you. You sir are a fine gentlemen. The amount of grass roots alberta KZreadrs is small. I’m loving what your doing and I’ll be watching every video. From. Legal, Alberta. ALBERTA STRONG

That truck is not only poorly built but is ugly.
new sub mad respect for doing this truck justice.. i can't wait to watch this unique truck build in a way that i can respectfully follow.. man i like this guy he has got that same genious in him on how to take another build and out build it into his own creation

i feel famous now to see my ACR comment. this is going to be a good build, i'm subscribbed!
I am not a fan of lifted trucks but you've got me intrigued on how this is going to turn out. You've gained yourself a sub mate. Good luck

In the pictures of the crash the truck wasn't even painted just wrapped that just makes the truck more of a hack.
@warwickandrews

The “thief” took the aftermarket gold hood and put the stocker back on so it’s paint but I agree about wraps lol
SEMA builds are usually garbage. As a fabricator I’ve walked SeMA and seen the most ridiculous unfinished horrible crap on display there. Missing welds, half finished and still on display. As a general rule any show truck is just that, for show and hardly functional for daily use.
Love seeing this haha. I remember when I drove past it in McLean shortly before the road was shut down by rcmp. My father and I speculated it would be dumped out there…not surprising it was.
Awesome can't wait till ep2
Calling ctv, global and cbc "media" is very generous however I am glad this truck is getting a new chance at life

1:30 Sorta was his fault. Is standard for any custom build the issues they experienced and not giving enough time and trying to re-engineer precise suspension systems. I mean, supplier issues are a legitimate thing, but the stuff said in that post shared sound ultimately like builder issues.
Lol. That was a funny story. Curious to see the outcome.

before realizing who actually "stole" it, I was thinking why in the hell would some thieves take a showroom/mall crawling "stolen" truck to a well known off road spot? i kind of thought maybe someone really just hated that truck, so they rolled it of the side of the mountain. and i guess that was still pretty true. just wasnt thieves..

Something smells about this insurance scheme 😂😂
“Let’s all go to court. Let’s go make some law now. Yeah, yeah, yeah, some law. Bow… I say we go to court. John: Yes, let’s go to court. We will be building it this year around that time so it won’t be but you should still get a chance to see it next year. Thanks for the kind words! I love it too lol
You have a nice garage.

Wonder what he did with the fiberglass hood
Just to let you know they make 32 inch wheels and most end up on Monte Carlo's or some weird Lexus x-overs, but thats all I have seen on cars so far. But they make them up to 34 inch wheels

uh you must not pay much attention. There are lots of them. I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado with them. I drive a 2022 Tacoma for work that has them. Why would anyone pay that for a truck that was ruined during the build process? Gimmicks and gadgets are only good for just the sema show. They are not usable at all. I subscribe to idea that it is your truck do as you will. But there’s a reason those trucks are sold after sema and never driven.
