I had the KTM RC8R for 5 years. Wicked bike. No electric aids at all. Looked like a Transformer - apparently. Went like the clappers. They sadly didn’t sell a lot though. And a Superduke 990 before that - a pure hooligans’ bike. Great fun. On the roads obviously. KTM’s a good respected brand over here in the U.K. With the way things are going here in London, I’m quite tempted by an adapted Surron.

The ones that find limits of technology hundreds of years before engineers apply it. Battery cars have been around for over a hundred years. Why it is so hyped now is because litterary everyone is simoultaneously throwing a lot of money on it and are fixed on the idea. Having a Master of Science, I think bio fuels is the answer. Same cars, same infrastructure, same behaviour, just another source. In Sweden we are at 30 % bio fuel mix in the diesel already. Battery cars are horrible for the environment with all its waste, not to mention their high weight which wears a lot more on the tires and roads than regular cars. Think about where all the magnets, cobolt, and copper is coming from, and who produces/sells it. Do we want to make them even richer? Do we want to encourage that working environment?

"I feel like this is pretty typical of a KTM, not working the day you bought it" says the guy who doesn't know you can't charge a Li-ion battery if it's 0 volts. Then glossing over the fact he had to buy a new battery that doesn't fit properly and proceeds to cram it under the seat. Buys a bike he knows basically nothing about, and blames it for not working. Smart guy.

30 miles at WOT, that's pretty good. I did my 300XCW in the woods and have not gone 30 miles in a long time and general never above 3rd gear. Now i'm 63 so I wear out pretty quick but I think the battery would last as long as I can ride and still get me back to the truck.

30 miles thats pretty decent. 50kms. My personal best was a trail ride I did back in 2019. Been building up to it for 6 months cos the even took place 800m from my house so I would have looked a chump if I didn't go, so I just rode my bike from home to the riders briefing then met my mates at the race tent they set up. I managed to do 148km during the day. I dunno how I didn't fall asleep at the bars. Only reason I stopped cos I used all my cans of fuel. Luckily for me I booked a week off work to recover, cos boy did I need it. Couldn't walk for about 4 days hahha.

KTM was ahead of its time, they came with good chains and sprockets, rims, and aluminum bars straight from the factory and back in the late 90’s if you bought it early you got and care package, which mine came with a spare piston and rings with other stuff. They did a hydraulic clutch 1st on a dirt bike.

If that small battery was reading an extremely low voltage it probably defaulted to storage mode. Should be able to reset it or give it a quick boost to revive it. Also, you're not getting anywhere near 200hp out of an M8 with "bolt-on's"

13:47 Craig is plugging in the loader with european plug into an adapter. Boys, it is not important which way you put it in. European equipment has Alternating Current. Its so damn easy.... The only problem you will have is the voltage. In Europe 230V is normal. US has 110 or so. Caused by that, it will take longer to load the battery.
