For where you were running, you needed the Teton or Prerunner(SST).

Looks like a load of fun. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Bought one of these thinking it would suck, but it’s been one of the most fun 1/18 rc’s I’ve had for the money! Only upgrades I did to mine were ball bearings to replace the bushings and a 2s 2000 35c battery. It’s plenty of fun! Ended up with the Teton as well and it’s just as fun

I have the prerunner LaTrax yes it is a fun little vehicle. Has more ground clearance then the Rally. But the crickets eating family contest. Your youngest is going to be troublesome he is not afraid of anything. Thanks for sharing that awesome family memories with us.

We had a class of these that raced on road carpet in OKC. It was good racing.

U can also swap upper fixed links with steerning links, to give u some -toe so it don't dart everywhere. Raise the ride height by moving carriers to upper hole. We race these in 1/18th 1/16th 4wd here in P.E. Canda

We used to race the Prerunners during the winter in the before times. It was big fun!

I feel you with the clips, i just drilled out the posts on my teton so i can use 10th scale clips since i have a lot of them

Hi Mark! I bought the orange version of this at my LHS about a month ago and the motor in it died after about a week and a half. My son and I drove it just like you were. Nothing crazy. They sent me a replacement motor even though the warranty doesn't cover brushed motors. I decided to fix it by buying a Hobbywing ESC/Brushless motor combo. I only bought a 2S battery but it's awesome. There was a little bit of modification to the black plastic that holds the stock ESC and transmitter but who cares.

I have the rally also... I put a dromida brushless and a bunch of aluminum parts on it and that thing in nasty fast for its size and pretty indestructible now.. Great choice

Awesome Rc. I changed the bushings to bearings and run it on a 2S lipo. Wrap the tyres with electric tape for monster drifts. Every so often I have to clear hair from the hubs

The Teton is the same chassis but it’s wider and has more ground clearance. In my opinion it’s the better latrax vehicle and it handles better the rally. This is for anyone deciding to get the rally or the Teton

I bought the Teton, spent a few hundred in upgrades, it’s a beast! Fast! Stripped a lot of diffs before I found good ones. It turns out the metal diffs with the stock ring gear doesn’t strip, but the upgraded ring gear strips?! Makes no sense. I bought a lot of them testing this. Waste. Dynamite brushless motor 2 in one is the best set up, less electronics. FYI

Grew up racing RC 10t’s on a dirt track with my dad. Just bought a Bandit RTR. Going to see if my 2 year old will get any interest. 40 now and things have changed in the R/C world!

just watched the video, i have one that I fully modded. including the aluminum parts, graphite chassis, brushless setup, aftermarket servo. and also replaced the gear diffs with adjustable ball diffs from a associated 1/18th scale. it fits.

I keep my UDR in the car all the time so I can run it when I want, when I had a truck I used to keep my gas LOSI DBXL in the back to hoon, but used to often get hassled due to the noise of an unsilenced tuned pipe.

I run mine with a 2s lipo. We used to carpet race them when they first came out. Super fun little car.

I agree it would be great to get your mates to get one and race each other.

You and the boys should do some time trial sort of races all using the same car (Of your choice) it’d be cool to see the boys times vs yours... maybe an e revo racing around some cones at a park sorta deal? 😁

Mark cool video. Great car for fun with the younger ones. You can switch the esc on that car to run 2s lipo with no upgrades. Maybe take a look at instructions after all. Also another tip I learned from my friend, use safety pins for body clips so you don’t lose them. And if you do you can find replacements anywhere.

Brushless vid please. We just picked up one of each Latrax models for our 3 little ones. New to the hobby and the family is loving it.

I've seen videos of people making their latrax tenton brushless and getting them to 50mph

I put a castle mamba micro brushless in my Teton with 2S lipo. I FINALLY got it bulletproof after all metal diff gears and metal spur. Before that it was stripping diffs every other time out.

@@harleydye6847 also forgot to mention that with the mamba micro I dropped the amount of 'punch' from the motor to 70% of full. That's what helped make it last.

I just got a Walton’s a959b it is 4wd and 1/18 scale but it is blistering fast it goes about 40-50 mph!you should buy one!!

I would like to suggest axial yeti jr.. I always like to have them with for scenarios like in the campground.. I think you and your boys will enjoy.. love your vids bro, keep up the good work...

You can buy slightly used ones with the popular upgrades for slightly less than the price of a new one. I bought one new and two used for having on hand for cook outs

I prefer the prerunner over the rally, it'll fit 10th scale tires (62mm) with stock 12mm hexes without any issues. The latrax cars can fit a 2 cell lipo from the mini e-revo (just remove the battery mount, it'll wedge fit just fine) My prerunner is running a hobbywing 7800kv motor and 3s battery (the axles hate me) and has body clip retainers

There aren't many smaller scale cars that I would buy. But I wouldn't mind having one of those. I have a 1/18 Axial Yeti Jr Can-Am, put it on 3s brushless and it is very fun. Would have to do the same thing to that one. Looks like it would be great on asphalt.

Been racin these on smooth concrete indoors. I want the 4tech 2.0 now so bad. More than i can afford atm but i feel like its the big brother to the rally

Latrax rally was my very first hobby grade rc

my brushless teton is very undergeared the motor and esc are nice and cool it still weelies and flips over though definently faster than stock

My friend recently bought the arrma infraction 6s and it has the body clips tethered to the body shell. Best idea ever those clips are annoying to find

I feel this is the next best budget friendly carpet track car like the trinity street spec class

Hobbywing makes a brushless system that pretty much a drop in system for 50 bucks only thing you have to do is drill out the pinion with a 3/32 drill bit and I think turnigy makes a 2s lipo 2200mah battery, you can find them on ebay by searching latrax battery upgrade. I bought arrma body pins straps and put them on my teton so i dont lose the body pins.

You gotta buy some body clip retainers. They are the first thing I buy when I get a new rc car or body

Hey mark, nice perspective w the street driving of the car. Be great indoors like you said or even smoother driveways. Regarding the body clips, if you have a paperclip laying around, it makes for a nice one in a pinch. I always put a tiny zip tie on my clips so as to get a better grip on them. They also come in bright colors so it is easier to see if you drop them in the leaf litter. Is the car holding up over the years?

My dad and I put a 3s brushless lipo system in one of these and it rips but the battery lasts about 10 minutes and overheats or breaks everytime.

These are great little cars. I have three of them. Upgrades are pretty cheap and you can run them around inside the house where you can't with the bigger ones.
