You can run a LiPO on the stock ESC. I run an EC2 connector soldered on stock wiring. Just press release press and hold the ESC start button and after approx. 10 seconds the light will turn green. When running RED, it’s in NIMH mode. When GREEN, low voltage cutoff is active and you can use a LiPO. This is the case for almost ALL of Traxxas brushed ESC in the past 5 years.

Get the Teton it is definitely way more fun and capable!

The Supra is an old HSP that isn’t made anymore. The mustang is from Banggood. I did a video about it. It rips.

My favorite is the prerunner i actually put a 1/16th scale brushless motor on my latrax prerunner and its extremely fast

Hello again friends, FYI, you can fit ZD racing 1/16 scale rally tires fit AMAZING! And slightly bigger so it drives much better. With a TenShock 5400kv motor, I got mine up to 50mph. With a bigger pinion and Lipo, it’s endless fun. Kinda fragile in some places. Transmitter upgrade is essential!

 for the LaTrax Rally. The ZD racing rally car has very small wheel hex’s that just so happen to fit on the LaTrax, making it SOOO much better and faster! Gets it off the ground much more because of size difference

I had a Teton, it's surprisingly capable off road for its size, and pretty fast too. 20mph+ is fast for 1/18th scale. But having said that, the Teton is the only Traxxas RC that I've disliked so far. Traxxas overgears the Teton out of the box , they did it for speed of course but it's uncontrollable at top speed, it's much more controllable and fun to drive at 1/2th speed. The problem though is the motor fans don't spin that fast at 1/2 speed so then you overheat the motor, I let my nephew run my Teton at 1/2th speed and it lasted one run before the motor fried. It's a pain to work on, the Philips screws are tiny and strip really easy, I had 2-3 that came stripped from the factory. The battery tray is pretty big though, I fit a 2000mah 2S lipo in there which gives it 2hr run times. I just got a Losi Mini T 2.0 for $100 on sale last week though and I much prefer the Mini T. Even though it's only 2WD and the battery tray is tiny, it has hex screws, balls bearings, oil filled shocks, and is way easier to work on. I put the Teton tires on the Mini T and now it handles grass and offroad like a little beast, it's great.

These little latrax rallies are total fun on a tennis court, my goodness reading some of these comments, comparing WL TOYS, LMFAO, A bit of history if it isnt already known, is that LATRAX was owned by Mike Jenkins father, Mike Jenkins obviously owner of TRAXXAS, I got a couple of them the orange one and a limited edition #46, that DOES HAVE TRAXXAS ON IT, AND IS A LATRAX, THE ORANGE ONE, DOESN'T, either way they are fun as hell on smooth surfaces😎

i bought one just because i watched some videos and it looked fun for indoors and i am not underwhelmed at all. The battery for me takes 45 mins to charge and im using the stock charger, and the only thing that has ever broken was a stripped pinion gear, which was an easy fix

Traxxas really should go 1/24 scale, the mods you can do with the 1/18 scales are crazy fun and super fast. I’d love a 1/24 scale TRX4 and 6! Plus the slash and dragsters in that scale I’m thinking would do well. My brushless Teton gets a lot of attention.

I have this one and i like it but more for indoor areas carpet racing, If you put the ESC in lipo mode put a 7.4v 2200 2s in it will go a lot faster than that 5 cell NiMh.

Great video of course, i have one of them and dropped a cheap brushless system in it for $28 and thing rips, hasn’t broken any of the stock parts and it’s about almost 2yr old now, i have to agree a lot more RC’s out there for cheaper that would put more smiles for miles 💯💯💯

If you have a 3d printer its a very fun car, you can make a angle kit and mane it rwd for a drift car or make different shock towers so it is higher of the ground...

It’s an exceed. They don’t make it anymore. I got that Supra body from ebay. Yeah, it’s brushless.

Had one of those about 5 yrs ago thing just disappeared... If i were to go that scale on the cheap I'd start with a wltoys A959 , then one of those barons or breakers , whatever those 1/18 drifters were that came out last year (did you get one of those) but for that $ might as well get the losi mini T. ... Hey bro I haven't even watched all video yet but I did buy the smaller tracks rally and it's awesome it handles like a straight beast even though it's tiny and considered slow it's a great inside Basher and outside too really if you were to put some off-road tires on it it will kill it but the only thing is the motor is weak so it's easy to blow up I blew up several Motors and the speed control and the and the the speed control and the steering server are super weak I'd say the steerings are roast the weakest as part of the car so you know but it's awesome for inside if you take it outside and try to rip you're going to break it because it's a hundred bucks and you're going to break it cuz the steering service sucks but definitely a good platform worth upgrading

Yea bro put a 2 cell lipo in it electrical tape a track on your floor and use it in your living room well worth $120

No and yes I have all 3 and the prerunner is a bit bigger then the rally car and feels a lot faster with actual tires or u can swap them with other hobby wheels. The Teton feels weird like it slows it’s left down instead of rolling to a stop.I put 1.9 wheels on my prerunner but had to cut the body to make them fit. Good bashing rc on race mode. It’s easy to take anywhere because it’s so small

the latrax motors are 370s not 380s and diameter is much smaller. model number is 7575r I believe. something like a traxxas titan 380 won't fit as it's much fatter. the velineon 380 is made for the 1/16 slash and other traxxas 1/16 cars. however, the vxl-3m esc fits in perfectly as the size is identical to stock. in mine, I mated the vxl-3m to a GoolRc 2435 brushless after my 370 burned out. you could also use a Hobbywing 2435

My rally is heavily upgraded. A lot of one off stuff and Frankenstein type of shenanigans. Its stupid fast, on 3s it got 57 mph and I could probably get more but it's impossible to drive it that fast.

Figure out a way to install a buggy wing, makes all the difference on these little cars. Mini erevo wing would make a huge difference in handling at high speeds

Love your videos BTW but I think u should have tested it the dirt seeing it's a rally a car any rally car while grip hard on pavement.

Do a water break in on the motor next time. Your power surge is due to brush particles bouncing around the com.

Positive i went through about 3 of the 144001 in 4 months . losing dog bones , breaking diff housings, bending shocks , burning through the stock tires...etc. Turned one i to a drifter turned one into a speed run.... Dont believe the hype.. If you're new and its on the street yeah they're aight but with all the $ i spent on hop ups and wheels and upgrading to brushless i should have just got a infraction or felony. My sons hbx 16889 outlasted my 144001s and he beats the trash out of that daily.

The 1/18 WLToys rallycar is way better. It can fit a 540 sized motor with parts from the A959B.

I've got a Teton and it is capable on and off road! It's also the same price $120. Please do a review on that car. It comes with oil shocks It comes with metal diffs It comes with a 6 cell NiMh battery It can drift around The ESC can handle 2s LiPos It will do 17mph It has so much torque from the 380 brushed motor it snaps metal driveshafts! The only time I've broken parts is when I hit a still object at full speed (outside of the driveshafts). I absolutely love the car. I recent had the ESC go out and am upgrading it to brushless (surpass hobby).

My 1:10 scale jada rc has more power speed and battery life for 50 bucks I have Amazon cars better than this you are paying for the name that’s all I was gonna buy one of these but went for a ECX torment instead which is a better choice for 200 Canadian dollars at this point I’ll avoid traxxas like the plague because toy grade cars are better than the la trax rally and Teton EDIT:new brights worst cars have 380 motors
