@@edgarh252 not really, those border vehicles sit in one spot with nothing to do but transport officers 200 miles into the desert to watch a barren piece of dirt with the possibility that a single human might actually be crossing at that point at that time. It's a ridiculous waste of money and resources. As for the Ford bs GM debate, at least Ford didn't take bailout money and still has the most US made trucks available. I'm a GM guy but Ford is beating the shit out of everyone and doing it correctly, can't fault them for that. Plus, as much as it sucks to admit the f150 work truck I was giving with the smaller 2.7 turbo v6 would easily out tow my 5.3 Tahoe and it isn't even close.

I live in Wisconsin and around here, there are thousands of pickup trucks and a huge portion of them are owned and driven by WOMEN. The reason you pay a lot for say, a 7 year old Ford Raptor with a load of miles on it is because it still has 400 or more thousand miles to go on it, and they require very little upkeep. They are quite literally the best vehicles for the job they are designed for. Don't get mad because you don't feel like getting out of bed and looking for a job that pays better or working as hard as you can to get promoted so you CAN make more then you do now. The mileage doesnt matter on these government vehicles. Idle time accounts for much of their use meaning they may sit running all day long without moving much. If a government vehicle like this has 100k miles it's probably more like 250k at least

@@HaloHamstur POlice cars, dont usually have the engine run time. Same with many other vehicles that suffer from abuse in this same way. Taxis, government owned trucks and Van's, uber's and Lyft's, delivery vehicles... Engine hours is usually for boats, planes, construction equipment, and things like that. What Ford have engine hours on it? F650 and whatnot?

Jeep, Wranglers and now Gladiators in particular, are a status symbol and Jeep knows that. They jack up the price to a ridiculous amount but they know people will still buy them. Most Jeeps aren't ever going to see trails and by the time they're decades old to the point where they could be bought cheap enough by people who would take them off road and build them they would've fallen apart because Fiat Chrysler.

I mean the gladiator is fucklong, but wangler Rubicons with a tiny lift and bigger tires are generally more capable of getting more places off-road than a raptor. Given I would never spend 60k on a gladiator but to each their own.
