I finally found the perfect place to build the ultimate car guy compound. Tons of car parts, tools, and a motorcycle were left behind. So today we're going to sort through everything, throw a ton of stuff away, and start cleaning things up. A new house, a new shop, and a place to build cars better than ever before... but the house has some strange secrets of it's own.

Common Questions:
What motorcycle do I ride? A few. Ducati 1198, Honda Goldwing, Honda Grom, Honda Ruckus
What do I do for a living? Make KZread videos.
Can you wheelie? No, I suck.
Are you fast? Sort of. I suck mostly though.
Where can I keep up with you off the bike?
Instagram: WatchJRGo
Facebook: WatchJRGo (or JRGo, FB hates my branding)
Do you go to school? College, for 2 classes.
Why do you ride so dangerously? What do mean? I was doing 25.
Do you go to the track? Of course, hopefully there will be videos in the future.
Do you play video games? No, but I might stream N64 Goldeneye at some point. Twitch: WatchJRGo
Are you afraid the police will watch your videos and arrest you? Something something evidence something something warrants and due process of law

It's funny how TVs are never too big. When I was a kid 27 was the biggest, and your parents made you sit 15ft away. My first big LCD was a 40 (and cost way more than that 100") which is still in my bedroom and seems tiny, and my current one is a 65 and sometimes I wish I got a 75.

My first "big screen" was a 42" in 2008. It was massive to my eyes. Then I got a 92" projector setup (which was actually a pain for everyday use, frankly). I upgraded my tv to a 65" (which was great) but recently bought an 85". It's a bit overkill in my space (8.5' viewing distance) but now 65" TVs look "small" (they're not). GIven their overall size, I'm not sure I'd recommend an 85" for most people unless they have a lot of space but I could see a 75" being a sweet spot for many people. That said, my 65" was (and is) more than ample. Don't feel like you missed out-- your tv is still great!

Firstly, I work for Richer Sounds in the UK and we sell those Hisense sets, over the years their range keeps improving and these sets are amazing value now. Classy finish and panel quality every bit as good as an LG or Samsung. Secondly, the biggest set we've hung on the wall in our store was a 75 inch and that took three people to get done, two to hold up, one to guide onto the mount and put in the mains and HDMI so well done to you and Gabe, believe me, I've been there and felt your pain!

They're basically gaming monitors with a tuner (my 144hz isn't 240 hz or whatever the latest gaming monitors are doing but Freesync makes everything look smooth and on point). Really impressed with everything/

The biggest house I ever worked on was 30,000 sq ft. It had a two lane bowling alley, elevator and underground tennis court and indoor swimming pool The main part of the house used 535 yards of concrete with 12 ft walls and a racquetball court in the back and 15 fireplaces. It was built on 3- 5 acre lots. In 1980, the house cost $15,000,000 to build. It was sold 10 yrs later for $40,000,000!!!

I mount TVs as a side job. I had one once that was super crooked. I had a level on it and it was perfect. I measured it from the bottom corners to the floor and it was perfect. Then I got up on a ladder and that was when I could see that the actual ceiling was very sloped. This old 1940s house had settled over the years, and they fixed the level of the floors when they renovated the house, but not the ceiling. I had to use a tape measure to re-do the wall mount level in relation to the slope of the ceiling. Otherwise it 'looked' super crooked.

I used to run a floorcovering warehouse, and one of our builders (owner of a home building business) built his personal home during my tenure. He had the most custom home that I've ever seen with around 9,000 sq ft, a "father-in-law" suite in the basement, a theater room with a sloping floor and tiered seating, 2 kitchens + a custom grill by the pool, a 20' fireplace in the living room, a $5,000 toilet in the master bath with the master shower having like 20 sprayers in the ceiling AND 2 shower heads on 2 different walls, completely wired for computer controls, camera system, and audio throughout, a "bridge" across the living room to get from the kids'/guest bedrooms to the master suite... I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of details. It looks like JR will have a "mini-mansion" at the least...

I have a home treater is my house ( 65" 4k and 5.2.2 Atmos ) make sure the lights don't reflect off the tv when seated. I had to put a light stand off to the side for ambient light while the main lights were off. If you can, run wires for a 5.2.4 setup as you will regret not doing it later. If you can't run wires then you are stuck with a 5.2.2 setup and that is good but 2 Atmos height channels is even better. I have never bought a house where at at least 1 big room could be used as a home theater. Haven't been to movie theater since Forrest Gump played. 4K BR at home is so much better. I have 2 subs, 1 up front and 1 behind the couch.

A mansion is typically in excess of 8,000sf, at least historically speaking, whereas a mini-mansion is usually over 4,000 sf of living space. Another factor is how much land is involved. Some people feel there should be more than an acre of land (43500 sf) around the house to qualify as a mansion. You can call it whatever you want, but usually the people who have really large houses just call it their house.

At my old workplace I ended up wall mounting 2 TVs - a 75" and an old 65" that weighed almost as much. 75" seems to me like the max for 2 people without it getting sketchy. I later looked into a mount for an 85" in a different office (same style as the one you got) and Samsung recommended 4 people for "just" an 85".

You might be able to install a speaker bar coming out of the ceiling above that doorway depending on the size/style of speakers you are looking to put in?

I have this exact same TV in my house that I got about 7 months ago. I decided not to mount it, and instead have it on a very large and stupidly expensive TV stand that is designed to handle the massive weight of this TV. Just putting the feet on and getting it on the TV stand was enough of a chore for two people. Hanging it...I wouldn't have even tried with two of us. I got mine from Amazon, so they used a freight service that brought it right into the house which made things a lot nicer (for the same money as Best Buy). The living room mine is in is a lot bigger (28' wide, where the TV is mounted, 22' deep that is also open to the kitchen, with a 20' ceiling), so it looks pretty normal. I had my 83" OLED there until this arrived and the 100" just looks better there. Plus the room has a wall of windows on one side and OLEDs just don't get as bright as this and it made a difference (but that OLED in the bedroom gets it DONE). Finished my setup off with an Arendal 1723 speaker setup (two towers, center, four surrounds) and a Monolith 13" sub. You will love this TV. Off center viewing could be better. It gets very bright, the color setup out of the box is pretty good. Blacks aren't OLED inky but still pretty damn good as it has pretty good local dimming. Has some dirty screen effect like pretty much every non-OLED but nothing out of the ordinary. There is a reason this gets better reviews than the TCL 100" that's about 1k more and the Sony that is 2x the price (I have the 75" version of that Sony...this has a better picture than the Sony). The remote on the Hisense feels low-end, but I'm running a Harmony Elite w/ Hub to control everything, so not a real factor. eARC when using the built-in app has been good, which isn't the case for many eARC setups, though I typically use my nVidia Shield Pro or Firestick 4K Max. I would absolutely buy this TV again.

It’s all about the sheer weight when you’re dealing with lag bolts for the TV. The smaller ones are more than enough for that. It would probably hold your car up.
