Glad to see VW/AG getting some love!! I have a 2021 GTI with the same motor and i love it. Downpipe and e85 tune right now stock turbo and it rips
one tune and youll be neck in neck with most NA 5.0s

Currently tuned by Equilibrium Tuning (stage 1) and makes 320-330whp. You are completely right. The 40-50whp difference between it and a stock 5.0 is made up in the lighter weight and AWD.

Ats is more comparable to an A3 tbh. But if you don't care as much about performance the ats is a solid choice for daily commutes. Although mine is a daily, I also plan to take it on twisty mountain roads like the Tail of the Dragon, where having a tighter chassis and DCT trans benefit greatly. The S3 is a perfect blend of performance and practicality.
