I still love driving that car too. Hopefully I can inspire you with your GR Corolla too! congrats my dude! Similar journey here, looking to grab mine in less than a month. Congratulations aside it looks like a bracket is loose on the left side of your exhaust. you can see the exhaust moving on the left side only, and slightly in the middle right is completely stable. cheap to fix now would be expensive if it shakes fully loose or off

Test drove one was considering buying one a month ago as a fun 3rd car to just drive around on occasions. I do not like how it has to work too hard to get the power out of it. I wished they at least put in a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder turbo motor or at least a 2.0 L 4 cylinder turbo . Less revving and more torque. My dealership has 2 of them in stock, selling 5k under msrp. black and white ones. Resale values are not great either. Would hate to be those who overpaid for theirs a year ago thinking that the value would go up.

You will be surprised how much power these engines can hold. I have seen many hit over 400whp with some tuning and e85. There is a weak point on these engines, which is the valve springs. Anything over 320-350whp it is recommended to upgrade them. But other then that the engine and internals can handle a bunch of power. But that would be crazy to find a GR Corolla that cheap. I definitely would scoop one up. I know the values are dropping, but we never know how many of these Toyota will actually make. So value could go up or down.

@@BrandonStellmach I understand that adding more power is possible, but that is not how I like to buy my cars. I want all the power I need in a stock car to keep all factory warrantees. I am not into tuning. I like torque at low RPM's, thus if they had a 4 cylinder with a bigger displacement motor, pretty sure they would achieve that. I hate high revving motors just to get the torque .

I paid a little over 41k for the car! And the back seats will fits kids perfectly! As for adults they do fit, just wouldn’t be a comfortable for long drives!

Less than MSRP? What dream are you in? They are impossible to get and they are marked up heavily. 6-9 months waiting list in my area.

Good on you bro, I mean there is only so much you can do with a regular Corolla. I have a 2017 Toyota IM and I love it. But if I turbo it, I can 300 hp. But it's still fwd. Don't get me wrong, I get great gas mileage, it's got a sport tuned suspension and it peppy on corners. Fun until I get my GR Corolla

Would have considered it with a 2.0 or 2.3. The motor is too small for efficient cooling at that power level. Not enough oil capacity unless you add a oil cooler

@@BrandonStellmach I understand the power it puts down is impressive. But the motor is already being pushed from factory is what I’m saying. A little motor making that much power is already balls to the wall. Toyota should have added a big oil cooler to make up for lack of oil capacity and cooling efficiency. If you want to make power with bolt ons tho, I don’t think you can get beyond 320 whp without having issues.

So what happened to the S?

I wish we in Europe could get that GR Corolla. It looks so cool. I love the big front grill. The whole front looks so aggressive compared to other hot hatches in the market. The rear end I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it either. I just wish they could’ve ended the wider fenders in some other fashion and the three tailpipes, I don’t live that either, and I don’t hate it either. I just wish they would’ve designed it with two single stacks in each side though. That said, it’s still a cool looking car and it’s one of my dream cars. Practical and fun to drive and it’s a Toyota, with Toyota build quality. Yes it’s not the fastet hot hatch, but let’s be honest, no one ever gonna reach top speed legally on any public roads - except the Autobahn in Germany. And still here you have to be aware of other cars and trucks. But it’s only available in US, CA, AUS, NZ, JP, some other markets in North/South America and around the world - except Europe. We only get the GR Yaris and GR86 and GR Supra.

I wish we got the GR Yaris in the US. It seems like a fun little car to drive! But I feel the same about the exhaust, Wish they would have just done 2 exhaust tips and left out the middle one.

@@BrandonStellmach yeah I believe the GR Yaris is a fun car to drive. I haven’t tried it though. But I believe the GR Yaris has a very small market in the US and Canada due to its small size compared to the GR Corolla and therefore not many people would buy it compared to GR Corolla which has 4 doors ( in Denmark, possibly also rest of Europe, we call it 5 doors. The hatch is also called a door), and the GR Corolla, as you know, only have 2 doors. But I do like the two door coupe like design. I’m not sure though what I feel about the rear end on the GR Yaris. It seems to have the same problems as the GR Corolla, where the rear fenders/fender flares meet the rear bumper. It’s not exactly a “beautiful rear end” IMO on both cars. And I also like the two single pipes exhaust tips. But like I said I don’t think there’s really a market for GR Yaris in the US and Canada due to its small size. I hear people complain about the small rear doors and lack of space in the backseat and the small trunk in the GR Corolla. So I imagine people would complain about the small backseat and trunk space in GR Yaris. That said there’s a “normal” 4/5 door Yaris here in Europe, and that’s bit more spacious than the 2/3 doors GR Yaris. But still smaller than a “normal” Corolla

Do your 1st oil change at 620 miles***. Congrats. If you're gona rally, play it at 30/70 traction, so you won't damage the back wheels and rear doorside with rocks and dirt

But you can't get a hatchback with the performance and enthusiast upgrade that this car has 💯 follow WRC rally 1 if y'all want to disagree because GR race team is taking the top spot for the past couple years. congrats . its amazing that the type r gets flagged for its looks but this gets a pass , the civic is fixable but you cant fix this lol there's no body kit you can get in the world that can make this a looker . The R has one bad view that you will end up looking at on the track vs the 360 degrees of wtf that's the corolla. lol . but yeh I may not like the looks of the car but i came to see what you do with it .

I understand the GR is not for everyone, but me also having an 03 Matrix XRS, it is a major improvement in power. But you do lose the practicality of the matrix. But I still do love being able to rev out to 8200 RPM!
