I was really excited to try one of their DIY Fabric Rescue boxes because they can be a bit of a gamble - you never know exactly what you're going to get.

I think you did good. Better than the first box I got from that kind. I do think they are more for people who like to up cycle outfits or learning to see different style clothing. I got one for my daughter and we thoroughly enjoyed the different options. She turned a torn skirt into a cross body purse and fixed some dresses to resell. But for straight resale it's definitely a gamble.

I have been buying clothing and handbags from ThredUp for years. When I donated, the clothes they didnt accept they said would be recycled and I guess your box of rejects are where they wound up. I agree you got some bad pieces, but ThredUp clothes are wonderful in the main site.

I bought 2 thredup diy denim box’s right before Christmas! From Pa. They came. They were trash! Before that I got a couple from Arizona that were very good.

I don’t understand the sending back to thredup?
I gotten amazing items from the scrap fabric boxes…and lots of not good ones. However, it’s always been profitable for me. I’ve gotten cp shades, balenciaga, bash, Alexis, and a lot of bread and butter. I think this was a pretty good box for the low cost of goods🙂

It's odd that Thredup has a rescue box for men's clothes yet they don't dabble in men's clothes.

It's lame because they accept it from customers and then don't pay them for it. Then turn around and resell it.

@@elducho today I checked to see what I would need to do to send some clothes in and they charge you $19 and some change to sell your clothes. Which they take out of the money you don't make for selling stuff. I love shopping there but they're making and banking some serious cash off of everyone. Whoever is on top of that chain has it made. You basically you give them clothes so they can make money and you have to pay almost $20 for them to sell your clothes for them to make money. I can donate them for free, I'm not paying anyone to make money off of my stuff.
that is sad. they steal the items and they can't even send out good pieces for you?

It's just the risk I run when buying these boxes.
