Aup Calvin I've got a question for you, out of says 10 cars that come in to your dealership how many are faulty? Both Either people not telling you or them telling you there is a fault? Cheers kev

That's got a lot of stickers on it that aren't standard. The turbo on the sides, the RenaultSport on the drls, on the dash. The front bumper insert would have been silver front factory. The exhaust sounds like its got a resonater delete. If you press and hold the RS Drive button it will go in to RACE mode, this will not auto change gear for you, allowing you to hit the limiter, turn the traction and esc off. If you pull back both paddle shifters it will allow launch control. The ac will take a lot of the power from the engine, so if you do draggy times with launch and no ac, you may find that time drops a lot. I had a 65 plate lux in flame red. Beautiful colour. The later 2015 cars were improved on spec, but the facelift cars were the best, overall quality improvements, faster gearbox, better lights to name just a few things. Hugely impressive cars, especially in the right hands on a track. Great to see one on the channel. 👍🏼

I saw the GT Performance sticker and wondered about the exhaust....

Need to make sure it’s been put in Race mode.. has 3 modes, Normal, Sport and then Race.. move the gear lever over to manual, and hold the RS button for 5 seconds, it turns full manual and changes gear super quick, and drivers completely differently. Also, launch control, hold both paddles and brake and throttle and it flies off.

@@Alexander_l322 no worries mate couple of very important things to look for when buying one. 1: Cambelt & dephaser, they need to be changed every 5 years or 70k miles. 2: Rust, check the fuel filler cap and other obvious places 3: History, make sure it’s been well maintained and serviced backed up with paperwork

Light weight, dual clutch trans, and a Japanese engine (same engine in the Juke Nismo) with the right set of tyres on these hound other drivers in the lanes. The 220 trophy is the one you'd want though if you were buying one.

Owner of a 18 plate Clio RS 220 Trophy which has a much improved gearbox from the RS 200. It's such a underrated car. Reviews didn't rate them just because they weren't manual when infact the trophy especially has a fantastic auto box, as well handling better and sounding better than any of its rivals but you don't see many about. Great car 👌🏻

For faster shifts, he would need to switch to race mode. Car also has launch control. And it does share a similar gearbox to the 4c as they both use a dry clutch gearbox

Owned one of these in silver with itg induction, gfb DV valve and a stage 1 tune they handle like animals, went to the graveyard sadly was one spicy baguette

Calv, you need to try it in Race Mode, you only tried it in Normal and Sport! It becomes a different beast, ESC / traction goes fully off and the gearbox speed becomes lightning quick. Put the car into sport + manual, then press and hold the RS drive button for a few seconds to put it into Race.

I owned a black one, murdered it out all black. Proper fun car and lift off oversteer like old school hatches. Auto box was crap, but in manual was good and plenty pops and bangs. Really good underestimated car, and actually held its value very well. 👍

I've always been a fan of the RS cars, never driven one this new though... It's a shame IMHO that they dropped the manual option. I always loved how engaging the driving experience is for such a low cost when compared to the equiavlent performance from the german market.

The akrapovic exhaust option-makes them sound even better I had one on the rs200 trophy

My pal had one in liquid yellow rs top spec all the extras Inc akrapovic exhausts option nice cars and nippy but he paid around 33k brand new with his extras I didn't think it was worth that sort of money.

@@familyfirst4727 Indeed. Tho a 2017, so facelift with low miles and same specs are now half that, ~16k. Insane good value for money on the used market. I managed to get my 220 Trophy, late '17 with 25k km for 16.2k euro last year. Very happy with it! I mean for F sake, that's Dacia Duster money :))

Crazy to think this is a Clio, my first ever was a Clio the car was amazing until seven months in of ownership then the car started breaking every week after that

I must be old - I remember when Clio Williams came out - 150bhp!

Clio Williams turned out more to be like 150 at the wheels, Renault actually understated the power! The legendary F7R engine, still very good, I have a low boost turbo converted F7R in my 1993 Renault 19 16v Ph2 (LHD), goes like stink!

@@wonkothesane2288 it's a low boost conversion about @ 0,75 bar, makes 230HP/300 Nm and about 1050KG. 0-100 km/h in 5.9 sec, 100-200 Km/h in 17.9 sec (about 7 seconds faster then Clio IV RS 200HP), now planning for fully forged internals,bigger clutch and more modern engine management so i can really open up the T28 turbo, aiming for about 300HP. There is also a 0 to 200 Km/h acceleration video on my channel done with the official dragy box.

Almost like a modern day R5 GT Turbo. Feel like they are really fast. But in reality they are not. However, SOOO much fun to drive. And thats what its all about.

if you looked up the manual or just asked uncle Google, you would have found out the right way to set here up properly and you would have had much better and correct timing/fun and experience 😉

I had two RS clios, the original 172, and a FF 182, were blissfully quick on a set of lights and embarrassed a lot of BMW M3/M5 owners in country roads.

First video of yours I watched about the clio rs200. I'm looking at buying a rs220 trophy. Your opinion of it just made me feel more positive about the DSG gearbox. I’m not surprised at the slow time, the car felt quicker than it was due the sound and feel. But that’s ultimately what we want. Still an awesome little car and I’ve many fond memories of mine

100% agree mate,

Mercedes A class models come with DCT. And if you have a A200d or A220d with the 2.2 diesel they have exactly the same AMG speedshift as the A45 first gen. They even have a secret mode for 100ms shift times. And if you get the Brabus D3 tuning pack like i had, then they are only 1.2 seconds off a A45 !. Very surprising and yet still do 70mpg. Real shame Merc have killed the 2.2d as the new 2.0d is not even close.

Calv. If u hold down the RS button the car will go into race mode. The car will then have a Rev limiter and it sounds amazing.

What's happening with the e46 330d tourer M3 conversion ???

Problem with this for me is...... it looks nice an normal basic clio not a Renaultsport

The noise coming from back boot is that normal happen too me when driving on holes

Owned a 2016 (pre facelift) 220 Trophy - good fun to drive and quick enough (although not quick enough to warrant a dry dual clutch box), but a nightmare to live with day to day. Chassis is way too stiff for every day driving and commutes. Sold it after 9 months!

ive driven a couple of these Clios at my old job, i much prefer the old 172/182 Clios. much more chuckable in the corners.

It sounds laggy between selecting a gear on the paddle and it actually selecting the next gear.

Ive got the facelift trophy and they fixed that with gearbox software,in race mode the shifts are rapid

Would you be so kind to give me an advice ?? I am about to buy a car in the range of 20-21k/euros. I came across two cars that I really liked, one is a 2016 - Audi A5 TFSI Multitronic quattro(230hp) coupé with 63,000 km on it, full options for 21k. The other one is a completly different car, 2018 Renault Clio RS - Automatic with parking camera. (200Hp) with only 24,500km on it. Both cars fully inspected in their respective brands with 1 year warranty. Which one would you go for ? I don't have any children and no debt.

Seat Ibiza cupra used to have a 7 speed dsg gearbox, My 66plate Ibiza cupra has a 6 speed manual which I prefer, should you ever get one in stock would love to video with your opinion

Nice motor for the price but the interior is lacking one thing the usual black headlining being beige is not very RS is it, very strange than again we probably wouldn't of seen Calvin Lol!

Just shows that draggy times mean nothing. I have a Clio 182 cup and it’s no where near the fastest car BUT…. It feels as f*** around the fun roads.

@@t011md95 only had the golf R for around 3 months, it was quick and nice to drive but lacked involvement and wasn’t that fun to drive. Was to well built if anything, I had a 230bhp fiesta ST before the golf and missed it so I wanted something similar, which is why i sold it and bought a clio.
