I bought a Samsung 28” 4K hdr UR55 monitor, for 300 it isn’t bad...could have waited and gotten something better though. The lg 27UL600 was the one I wanted to get...it was on sale for 300, but went back to 399 quickly

I bought one in the exact same way last fall, I think it was 260 at the time. I was also blown away with how fantastic the quality was.

The eBay seller saw how many he was selling and upped the price. What an ass lol

You do know most "refurbished" items are just unable to be sold because the box was damaged. So they get re-boxed and classed as that.

This sounds like a great budget option. I honestly was interested in getting one just for the backwards compatibility with the OG Xbox games from Sega(including Virtua Fighter 2)! These are the NICE surprises from Ebay we all like to see.

I wonder why you were surprised to find this was a system coming straight from Microsoft when it's a factory refurbished system (as opposed to a seller refurbished one). I've had two factory refurbished systems (straight from Nintendo) and they look, feel and work just like new systems. The only thing that changed was the packaging.

Going back laid-back style with the tech videos is a good thing imho. Interesting that returned systems were resold as refurb, so I guess the same goes with demo units.

I also bought one about 2 weeks ago that was for 199.99 and the box and packaging slip was the same. I'm guessing it was the same seller. It is one of the best deals I've seen in a long time. I also couldn't find flaws.

NimrodGamer I still use my gh 2 x-plorer guitars. Only had to fix them once so far. The spring on the whammy bar pops off occasionally but it’s an easy fix

Shouldn't be to weird the X was a mid gen cycle release and in a few months we will be on next gen release so it will be well worth it.

I had a similar experience when I bought my Xbox One about four years ago. It was also a Microsoft refurbished console from eBay. I didn't find anything wrong with it either. It appeared to be brand new. It has held up exceptionally well, and I paid half the price of a brand new one. The console and the controller it came with are both working perfectly to this day. I definitely give a thumbs-up to Microsoft refurbished stuff.

I manage the xbox line for the distributor that has the exclusive xbox refurb contract. We ran that $199 promo with ebay a couple of weeks ago. So cool you did a video about this. I'm going to show this video to some of our retail customers.

@@milkmade22 they are all factory recertified so we get them directly from Microsoft. All of the ones we have seen are like new.

Something that spawnwave forgot about the start up is , u can speed that up by doing some of the work on your phone. So u will cut down the time, before u can actually play on it.

In the UK we have distance selling regulations whereby anything you purchase online can be returned within 14 days of receipt. You’ll often find that ‘refurbished’ items sold online are simply customer returns that haven’t been used that they can no longer sell as new.

its highly likely that the seller bought defective but in warranty Xbox's then claimed the RMA and just waited a few weeks for the replacement unit then sell them online I know a few that does that for the PS4 and PC parts.

Awesome content! I would also LOVE a "State of the Collection" for your Game Cube collection!

Got one too, works great. No issues. Highly recommend upgrading your One or One S if you have a 4K TV, unless you play from across the living room, it's not much different. I play fairly close to the TV and it's night and day. :)

Those are most likely units that failed a QC at the factory. Repaired before they even leave the factory so they are essentially brand new still. The seller most likely bought a lot of them from Microsoft or another distributor.

I purchased a factory refurbished Xbox and the only thing changed and was fixed was the HDMI port, is that noticeable at all when searching through the system like you? I know the one x has had plenty of HDMI fail issues and everything else seemed perfect. Got it for a steal a couple years ago on offer up and it still works perfect. Awesome second room system.

Are there different models of the xbox one x like the ps4 pro or are they all the same?

I got one for $200 new (Fallout 76 bundle was all they had left) in January when one of my local Gamestop stores closed. With more closings coming up this is a cheap way to get one (or do what that guy did and trade them to another Gamestop for profit as Spawn Wave mentioned in a prior video in January).

Do you know if Microsoft will still service a console if it has been opened? I opened one of mine after it stopped powering on to see if anything became disconnected and everything was connected so I’m guessing it was a short on the motherboard. Their updated warranty terms do say it’s void if a user broke it from attempting repairs it or a third party non-Microsoft authorized repair shop broke it when attempting repairs. It broke beforehand and there’s nothing that signals a red flag for user damage.

I refurbished myself one of my systems, a one S Minecraft edition with a bad ksb and one ram module fried, swapping those components with my reballing machine and eurekaa my one S it's alive again!

I just got one renewed from Amazon for$250, and it looks like it is brand new. System, controller HDMI cable. But damn, wish I would have seen that One X for $200 on eBay though.

Bought a factory “re-certified” One X from Walmart’s website last week for $220 and it is near mint. I first thought they accidentally sent me a brand new one but there were a couple of small scuffs on the front of the unit. So far not a single issue. Super satisfied.

Sad that there sold out. Look like Newegg has then for 229 which is still pretty good. I haven’t moved to the X yet and don’t plan to be an early adopter of the series X so I figure 200 isn’t bad for a few years of 4K console games

Not sure how it works in the USA or with Microsoft, but I know in the UK with Sony, if you send your PS back (at least this is how it worked with the original PS and the PS3) to Sony for a swap out, you only send the unit back, no cables or controllers etc. So it would make sense that if MS does the same, any refurbed units they sell later would either have no peripherals or would actually come with new ones if they are included.

I've seen some nice Xbox One X's going from mid $200 to low $300 on Amazon. But they're Amazon renews. Thought about getting one, i've not had an Xbox One this generation.

Different experience for me. I bought a refurbished Xbox One X for $400 back in 2018 and it didn't last very long. Games started crashing and it got to that point where the trouble shooting screen would pop up. I was lucky enough to get it returned and buy a new one for $450 with a $50 gift card, so it worked out. Crazy to see them now go for $200

coz xbox did not sold well. ms does not profit from hardware but thru software subscroptions aka xbox live and game pass. Also with plans for streaming their services thru xcloud

You just got lucky...here in stl mo I tryed an refurbished x box 1 twice and both were junk. Thank God they reimburse me each time. Overall I'm saying if you can save up 200 just save a lil more for a spank brand new 1 or just be patient and wait for the x box x to come out.

My brother bought a recertified Xbox one x from Walmart it looked brand new but it only had one small problem and it was that the sync button on the Xbox didn’t work but we just connected the control to the Xbox to get them connected but other then that seem really clean and wasn’t loud, kind of the same experience you had but no bad for a recertifed Xbox

Refurbished from the one I bought meant the codes for the free games were already used. So far been a year and the system still works.

For a couple of weeks the Xbox One X was selling everywhere for $299. It makes sense to see referbs for $200.

It’s brand new looking, my guess is like you either the Blu-ray drive or hd drive died, and since MS has the tools they can just drop a new on in it and bypass how they are tied to the motherboard, and re tie the new ones to it.

Yeah people were buying off Microsoft's site when the price dropped to $200. I still think was done in error. Anyway, I ended up getting a refurbished for $250 because I wasn't getting a proper HDMI signal with my old one.

As a repairman in a PC store/shop all i can say is. If you havent done a teardown, blown all the dust off it and replaced the thermal paste, you havent done anything. Thermal paste must be cleaned and replaced ! That paste was dry as is gets and basicly an insulator between the apu and the heatsink, making everything fry itself to death eventually .

What I hate about the one x is how long it takes to install a game. I buy a game then have to install it. I keep my console off line just in case the patch updates take things away from the original build that I would prefer, like when Microsoft nurfed mafia 3 when the definitive edition came out. Then when I decide to go back online to install patches I need for other games like hdr patches, I have to wait ages for a mandatory console update then another update for the game patch. Some will say why not keep the Xbox updating by itself. Well the answer is the simple not all updates improve the console. The last update I had fucked up my hdr so I couldn’t continue a game in hdr from sleep mode meaning having to exit and reload the game all over again. It took ages before another update came along that fixed that problem which is why I usually keep my one x off line until I need to get an update for a particular game. I’m dreading updating my one x again. I only recently got it running how it’s supposed to. I’m shit scared that the next update is going to fuck it up again. I never have this problem with my PS4 pro and my pro doesn’t do mandatory updates as regular, either. Which in my view is a good thing.

My dad too. I found a refurbished PS4 Pro for $250 and all the reviews said the seller was legit and everything was great. But my dad didn’t let me buy it so someone else bought it😞

You need to tell your dad that I've shopped on Ebay for years and never encountered a broken console and out of the many stacks of games I've had for various consoles, like 3 didn't work. Two of the times I was refunded by the seller. So it has been an overall great experience. Ebay is a hell of a lot better than Gamestop. Just pay attention to seller reviews and feedback and pay with PayPal cause PayPal has your back. I'm a collector and a longtime seller on Ebay, you're good with PayPal
