I think compared to other cars made around the same time, the mk5 golf gti has aged extremely well and blends in well with newer cars today. And people still have respect for it because it’s the generation that brought life back and possibly saved the gti badge

I've owned 5 GTi's at this point and I bought my newest MK6 in December of last year. It may be the last car I buy for a long while. I have it at stage one now looking towards stage two in the near future. I personally can't imagine a better car to buy in the world. I don't think the "R" is worth the extra cash! I have driven them, but I will always love the GTi! Great overview of this car, Love It!

MK5 R32s seem to be appreciating already. GTI's will do soon I'm sure. Since the MK4 was so pants and since there aren't many MK3 GTi's left, I think a mk5 gti could be a good choice right now.

Those tail lights and head lights are so amazing. I’ve been looking for a good set, did you ever find out where they were bought from??

I've just bought a 2012 GTi in black with leather. Picked it up on New year's Day. It's very frugal when driven conservatively. It's my first fast car and dam does it go some. I want to save fuel but I can't help myself 😀😎. The interior is so nice and a lovely place to be. Coming from a 99 318i E46 this thing is awesome. Two things I love..... 1, The fat sports steering wheel....and 2, heated seats. Never had either before.

Mk5 gti more reliable than a mk6 gti of u got the extra buck get a ED35 Much more better than the mk5/6 same engine at the mk5 but upgraded turbo and better internals same engine as a mk6 R ko4 turbo and you’ll hold its value my boys got stage 2 ED35 350bhp 370torque

I believe you can also code them to alternate? So on the rear it would flash on the boot then the rear light. Just like a light bar on a recovery truck. Seen it done on a few GolfR’s, certainly different.

Hi Calvin . Nice car. Great content and your filming and editing is really really nice . You should consider doing a sort of realistic top gear for this generation. Also had some ideas . Possibly a group Nurburgring day out for like 25 runners up in one of your competitions. Obviously it costs so maybe they cpuld opt in for like 4.99 or something and possibly get a place or maybe even a syndicate of some sort where 2k people pay a said price and all get a deal of some sort . Also thought about merchandise was thinking number plates with onit on the bottom made up for maybe 25 quid . Car matts . Deals on things like wax . Maybe even one with your name on it .or onit car products . Id buy it if you said its decent and so would others because we know you would be honest . Can have many ranges from ok to the dogs boll.x depending on budget ect . Also thought about little compititions for car tuning with your guys . Monthly membership prices which include draws into above things . Again little competitions for new tires for 5 winners . Like 7 quid entry or something . Can roll from month to month .maybe keep growing it first but i always feel this channel will be mutually beneficial to everyone involved . Just the content alone is brilliant . So many options . Sorry for the rant i just get excited and think your a genuinely top bloke . Take care bro

I have tested Golf R and two GTis... ALL of three of them suffer from worn out upholstery (tears), roof liner peeling off, etc. The Golf R was stuck, a 2017, some oil leaks on the engine bay, but the chassis and transmission was stout. The GTis were a little jittery, issues w rod ends, and also had the oil leaks.

Use to have a 97 vr6 manual and just got a 2010 mk6 dsg candy white and I love its fast af

@Just a nigga tryna help bought it for commuting to school and work. Mainly city and back road driving and i get like 28mpg. on highway i got like 36mpg on avg. i would say its pretty good on gas

I just got my mk6 gti the other day, mines manual though :)

The only thing stopping me from buying one of these tomorrow are the numerous pages online about the dreaded tensioner failure

They did do Golf saloon - was always called a Jetta/Vento/Bora/then back to Jetta. With full blown GTi Jetta in MK2’s, VR6 only later ones only as fast ones. Just about to buy a 1 owner 55k miles done MK6 Golf GTI myself for £8k.😊….3dr as which I prefer

I do own a 2010 Mk6 GTI DSG and this is so soothing. Actually prepping it for stage 2, already have a turbo back exhaust and waiting for my Forge intake.

@@foureyes5498 hmm I don't know about that. Either way they're gonna be close together. Thought the intake will unlock more room for tuning capabilities as it will benefit from the turbo back 3" exhaust and forge intake

Vlad Gliga it won’t do anything crazy it’ll just make more turbo noises. I was just saying you would’ve gotten way more power spending the money for the stage 2 tune first before getting the intake. Also don’t forget to upgrade your DV

Vlad Gliga my mistake bro I thought when you said you were prepping for stage 2 I thought you weren’t stage 2 yet. Yea with the stage 2 done an intake will be a good addition. Just save up for a fmic next and you’ll be set for the perfect daily driver

Those headlights are from either Osram or Hella, I think Osram. Volkswizard did a video on them a while back.

those headlights and tail lights are manufactured by a campany in china called “VLAND”. i have the same on my mk6 golf.

Jonny Cash depends where u buy them and im from italy. my headlights are 400+ €, but some sell it a lil bit cheaper. my tail lights are 270 €. its a great deal. i have them both a year now and they work just fine.

Yes its awesome. Actually prefer mk6 to mk7. The mk6 led tails picks the car up as well.

Think I’m sold haha, great video and valid points,currently have a 200hp pro ceed GT low mileage 64 plate. Great car, but I’m looking to step into more speed and power. Love GTIs, they’re the masters. Although I’ll have to go higher mileage and older for a mark 6,still want to, then a stage 1 remap. Peace x

Any good? I went to go view a 2010 white one with full leather seats for £9995 but one of the guys went to Bedford to get another car n took the key with him so I didn’t get to test drive it. And I drove over an hour to view it so I’m debating it now

Unless the timing chain tensioner has been changed, I wouldn’t touch a mk6 with a barge pole!

jacky _147 These have a chain not a belt, The older revision tensioners are prone to letting go so if you’re looking to get one make sure it’s been done with the latest revision tensioner

If i buy one of these used from 2012/2013 howmany km should i aim for? Ive seen many with 180-200k but in my opinion thats way to much i was thinking of 100-120k what do guys think?
