Should you buy a Ford Focus CC? Well, it was styled by the same people who design Ferrari's so it must be a winner...?

Nobody seems to mention the sound systems in these. Crank up the sound settings and it's brilliant. Loads of Bass, mids and trebles with no distortion no matter how loud you go. I went for the petrol engine just because all you can hear is the diesel engine with the roof down. The petrol 2.0L engine is bulletproof and sounds much more refined.
I love mine. I do thousands of mile on continental tours with the roof down. Very economical.

Perfect for doing lots of miles with the roof down, economically!
Great video brother. How is the heat insulation when the roof up
Hiya, I own a VW Golf Cabriolet 2.0 l TDi , it's a GT model, and being a diesel engined car doesn't bother me in the slightest, even with the roof down, and it is a joy to drive, and handles like it's on rails, and has all the power I would ever need. My previous car was a Renault Megane Cabriolet, 1.6l petrol, with the glass roof, and was noisier at speed than the golf. It cost £160 odd to tax the Megane for a year, but only £30 to tax the Golf, so for me it was a no brainer, and I do truly love my Golf ❤ - Jess.
I have this car love it. But my boot when opened makes a clicking noise.
Lookswise, this reminds me of my mum's old 206CC with a similar colour combination. GN55YWB was in Iron Grey with white (p)leather, climate, 6-discs etc. It also had the wonderful 110bhp 1.6 HDi (DV6 TED) unit. Far too much torque for the chassis, it was hard to tell if you were on concrete or ice the steering was so light and vague. It shook and vibrated like an old taxi, and everything rattled. Many small interior items filled the door pockets and glovebox. She sold it at the end of 2008 with 67000 motorway miles. I can only wonder what state it was in when it was finally scrapped around June 2022, by which time it had over 151000 miles according to when it was last tested the previous year.
The car I've lusted after for years. Ford CC. Cheap, a good drive and reliable! UK 🇬🇧
See, after watching this, I'm torn. I own a 2005 Mk2 Focus (the 2.0 petrol manual), and i have been looking after my stepmums 2009 CC3 (model in this video - only hers is the 2.0 petrol auto that she bequeathed from my dad when he passed) I have FC insurance which allows me to drive whatever i want so long as the car has an MoT and tax. it too is that shade of roman bronze, but ours has the black/grey 1/2 leather interior. much more preferred to cream/beige and brown. I'm torn, but I get it. the CC3 is a lazier drive and is more comfortable (probably due to the wallow-ey suspension and auto box - think grand tourer) compared to the hatchback. I cant chuck the convertible into corners like i can with the hatch solely because of the weight due to the roof. on the flip side, the hatchback is hella fun to drive (yes a mk2 2.0 focus is fun to drive! stiffer suspension, higher driving position, manual box) However. picture the scene. you're of a certain age, you have the wife and 2.4 children and THIS is your family run around. I've found the Focus CC3 INCREDIBLY practical (and almost economical for an auto) for a convertible. no, im not going to move house or cart a fridge freezer round or do tip runs (though you can do tip runs, it'll just be more of them). but for the everyday stuff (shopping, taking the kids to activities, maybe going for a weekend cruise with the roof down, after dumping the kids off at grans) it does everything adequately. its nothing special, but its a bit different. (similar to the 307CC, VW EOS, astra twin top? or the Tigra II?, the megane CC too all of which tried to jump on the success of the 206CC) oh and its pininfarina - pininfarina.it/en/ the designers of the CC3 body. my dad was like a dog with 2 knobs when he found out they designed for Ferrari. shame the CC3 doesnt perform like one!
its not bad looking car Focus i always had a soft spot for the Estates Focus they are a good Work horse,

I love a hatch or estate, really comfortable and easy to drive cars!
You can get a muddy tractor tyre on the back seat just roll it over boot.
You don't slam the boot like that....its self closing at the end ahhhhhhhhh

Yes. Pininfarina have designed many nice looking cars like the Peugeot 405, Alfa Romeo 164, Ferrari 360, Maserati Quattroporte, Volvo C70 and my old Austin A40 to mention a few.

diesel in a convertible just seems wrong as you will hear the engine all the time with the top open

I’ve got to agree, half of the appeal of a convertible is being able to hear the exhaust note better!

I wouldn't say no to a Volvo C70 diesel as long as it had the D5 engine. Diesels just don't sound nice enough for convertibles unless they're 5+ cylinders, and even then "not all". I couldn't name a 4-pot diesel I'd be happy to have in a convertible.
Pinin farina i a design studio who designed this car :)
just bought one for 650
It's not supposed to be 'sporty', there's not a hint of sportiness implied or intended.

Ok..
Diesel Convertible, it’s like a cheap date, although with the price of diesel today, maybe not so cheap anymore.

Cheap date or disappointing date? 😅

Depends on the diesel... To be fair, most 4-pot petrols don't exactly enhance the experience with the top down either - but at least they're not as agricultural as a 4-pot diesel... With more cylinders diesels can sound respectable enough to work in a convertible, but that's a minority of engines you'll come across in the first place TBF.
why so cheap ?

That’s just the part exchange value (more than actually) for the car 🤷♂️

They don't.. bait video. Picked up a nice 2011 2.0 with only 58k on clock for £1995. Reliable so far. Abit loud being only 5 gears at 70 for my taste.
