I’d defo retail that for £3995 with the hope of getting between £3500-3900. It cleaned up really well and had a great spec. I reckon it would be gone in a few weeks. You’ve done as much as anyone should expect a used car dealer to do for that price: full MOT with no advisories, service including gearbox service (which I’ve never heard of a used car dealer EVER doing that voluntarily!) and dents repaired were possible. That should make somebody a really nice runaround. Let’s us know the outcome 👍🏻

Exactly my point too. I think he puts himself in the same position as a buyer, what would he expect out of the car, which its very very rare to find in people as most are selling cars and hiding soo much from you.
Looks smart and tidy, good colour as well. I think it's well worth a place on the forecourt, new test and service. Not going to hang around for long at a realistic price. Nice one Matt.

Lovely cars, i owned a 2006 2 litre pdi 6 speed, had it for 8 and a half years. The only fault in that time was a misplaced top strut mount replaced under warranty. Still on the original brake discs pads and even the battery when i sold it at a still low 60k miles. Happy new year.

i liked the design of this era of Seat Leon too, quite stylish and a bit different from most of the Euro boxes! Great transformation inside and out, that grey colour looks very smart and suits the car. I would be tempted to retail it although I know it could come back to bite you particularly in the first few months.
Love this car, the colour on this one is also really nice. I have one from the same year, 2010. It's a 1.4TSI manual and it's running smoothly as ever. Bought it 3 years ago with 146.000km on the clock. Today it has 234.000km on the clock. I love driving this thing as you can see and living in the Netherlands we took it for a trip to Germany and France quite often. Serviced every 15.000km and it pays me back every time I'm taking it for a drive. The only complaint I would have is the interior of this generation has a lot of hard plastics. But other than that, loving it!

How funny. I sold my 2010 1.4 TSI manual leon 3 years ago with roughly 145000 km to a dealer that would export it. Is it imported?
Hi matt, Looks like you've found a diamond in the rough there. Good price too. As I have only got an automatic licence here in the uk, the prices of automatic cars are currently astronomical as you know. Great work as always and happy new year!
I really enjoy these "I bought a cheap....." videos & always hold my breath that the outcome will be good! In this case, you've totally transformed the car & given that it's 12 yrs old, it looks great. These type of automatics are, I think, quite rare & given that I have at least 3 friends who couldn't pass their test in a manual but managed to do so in an automatic, there could be a market for this vehicle out there. Good luck with the Seat & thanks for the great videos which get better all the time!
I bought one like this 2 years ago. Same color, same wheels, similar spec (copa edition) with heated seats, navigation etc., but 2011 model with 2.0 TDi 103kw engine and manual gearbox. Had 177 000 km (about 110 000 miles) when I bought it, now it has almost 210 000 km (130 000 miles) and runs well so far with no problems at all. It really is a good looking car and you don't see many of them around here in Czechia where I live.
The automatic transmission in my 2002 VW Jetta lasted for 259,000 miles without service; about the only thing that lasted. This car nickeled and dimed me to death during my 11 years of ownership. I purchased the car new and drive like an old man.
It's a bit of a bonus having all these cars bought from people who live right beside that car park.
I've spent around 15 years around the SEAT brand as an admin of an owners club, I've had two MK2 Leon's as well. That car is a MK2 Facelift model, it has a few "rare" extras on it such as the armrest and the door sill guards with "SEAT Sport" on them. In today's market worth 3k all day long with all the maintenance done. My old 2010 MK2 Cupra R had a dent on the door in that sport and the local guy managed to get it out.

Great video as always Matt :) Leon has scrubbed up well and nice colour too :) I used to have an A3 as a Company car with that same drive train (1.6 TDi & DQ 200 7 speed dry clutch DSG) It got driven fairly hard for 4 years / 100k and never has any issues with the box at all. I have same gearbox now in my Mk 3 Leon 1.8 Petrol and also fine but only 12k on that car so far. Its not the strongest DSG as someone already said and its torque limited to 250NM so only ever goes in the VAG cars with engines under 2 litres. From doing my own research I found 2 common failure points mentioned a lot, mechatronics unit failure & clutch packs wearing out, the latter of course will depend on how its been driven, i.e. letting car creep with foot half on brake will cause clutch wear on these gearboxes as they use a more traditional style clutch and not a torque converter, so maybe confirm costs with your gearbox people and weight it up from there based on worse case scenario....
@EsaMehmood

Great video Matt, and made me view Seats in a whole new light. You’re right they are good looking. I wonder if this would make a nice raffle prize? Hello Matt. 100% retail, this car deserves a forecourt spot for sure. Your reputation and honest videos, would surely ensure all buyers you are selling in good faith that the car is strong.... For the money this is a great car and with things as they are right now, if someone offered you 1000 cars in the same condition for the same initial trade in value with a little prep and financial outley..... you'd have a good start to the year and you'd sell a lot of these older, high mileage but still strong cars.... Mix these cars in with some newer higher valued stock and I'm sure you'd have a recipe for success. As always great video and assessment of cars.... Keep up the great work Matt and get this car on the forecourt 👍 Muchas Gracias y Feliz Ano Nuevo para usted!
Honestly get exited whenever I see a new one of these videos posted 🤣 love them !
That 7 speed DSG has a dry clutch. Thus the clutch wear doesn’t contaminate the oil. It doesn’t need a service any more than any manual gearbox and in my experience they’re fairly reliable. The thing to watch out for is the clutch, because it’s right at the torque limit with the 1.6 tdi. I’d be careful if it’s a car with this drivetrain + a tow bar and/or a remap

@@khelgarironfist3301 As far as I know, anything with less than 250 NM of torque still uses the 7-Speed dry clutch DSG to this day. The gearbox is called "DQ200", if you wan't to google it.
Cheap little AUTOMATIC cars are always good sellers. My experience of these cars with the auto I'd retail it. Although the mileage is at the point where you could start getting gearbox faults. That said its not a sporty one so gearbox won't of been abused. You tend to see gearbox issues on the more sporty ones

Used to pick these up a few years ago for 1 or 2 grand, mainly the TSI petrol and they sell on quite well. There isn't a specific gearbox service on the dry clutch 7 speed DSG though they use mineral oil, changed mine about 80k.I would retail it and ebay could source you a DSG or mechatronics for about a grand if the worse comes to the worse, the VW 1.6 is quite a dull engine but should do 50 MPG easily enough.£2495 could be your car of the week LOL.

Great videos Matt keep it up. Those leons where a great car in their day. General rule of thumb on DSGs any of the lower powered cars will always use this the 7-speed dry gearbox. These are the ones that can be jerky and give issues. In fact they dont even have a service interval. VW will tell you they are sealed for life. It's impressive how rust has become less and less of a concern in recent years. My cousin bought a 12 year old VW Golf III in 2008, and it was more rust than paint (not really, but it was very bad). Nowadays one can buy a 15 year old car and it's still in decent shape.
