I bought a CHEAP House in Italy! And I’m finally here!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
It took a year to get here, but even a pandemic couldn't stop me from buying my little Italian house!
Julie in Italy (Finally!) 🇮🇹✨
Authentic Italy, Delivered to Your Doorstep! 🏡🍝
I've put a lot of thought into this new channel, @julieinitaly and decided now is the perfect time to take the plunge. My @AmericanViscountess KZread channel has seen incredible growth since its inception, now boasting over 213k subscribers. Our "Castles, Manors, and Stately Homes" content is also licensed by Little Dot Studios www.littledotstudios.com and is featured on their various KZread and FAST channels, such as @RealRoyalty (with 1.2 million subscribers), @ChronicleMedieval - @AbodeLDS (interior design and renovation), and more. Thank you all for being part of this journey! 🙏🏻
Given the popularity of my Little Italian House renovation vlogs on the @AmericanViscountess channel-some of which have surpassed 1 million views-it made sense to launch a dedicated channel, @julieinitaly Thank you for your continued support! 🎉
At the launch of @julieinitaly I'll be uploading archive vlogs from the past three years to help build the channel. Starting in July 2024, you'll get to enjoy fresh and exciting content. The kitchen renovation videos will continue to be uploaded on @AmericanViscountess and eventually on @julieinitaly It may seem a bit confusing, but rest assured, you'll get a healthy dose of Italy on both channels until the end of 2024 when we fully transition. Phew, and thank you! 🥳
Please subscribe to @julieinitaly - it costs nothing and helps me grow the channel. 🙏🏻❤️📈

Laundry hanging tip. If you wear it on the top, hang it from the bottom. If you wear it in the bottom, hang it from the top. X

and run a wet cloth across the line to clean it.😁
Devout clothes line user here with a tip. I hang all my blouses on clothes hangers and then hang on line. When dry I put right into closet. Very excited for this channel. You are one busy lady!

Yes!!! I too have done this… very little if any ironing needed if you do it this way. On a windy day I would clothespin the hangers to the clothesline so they wouldn’t blow away.

Boil your wooden clothes pins for longevity in a pot of water on the stove for about half an hour.....T-shirt and tops cardigans....hang them all on hangers to prevent creases x x x

I’m so glad you separated the different shows, Julie. I love them all, but your shows from Italy are my favorites. Good luck!

Good idea. Especially considering you don’t know if the electric system is fully up to code.
Living in Australia I have learnt to hang my clothes inside out so that the sun doesn't fade the outside. Then I hang everything from the shoulders otherwise things get out of shape. I have been doing this now for over 50 years & it takes me years to wear my clothes out. Then I cry as my clothes become a part of me. It is interesting to see old photos & there I am wearing the same garments 20 years or more ago. In fact, I still have one dress I used to wear when my granddaughter was a baby & she will be 30 next year.

I keep a lot of clothes too. I buy new for the odd thing but I like wearing tried and true fashion for my own body shape. I don't know what others think of it but I really don't care what they think. I dress for myself not others. Thanks for posting.
I am real glad for this separate Italy channel because i normally love and watch only your Italy videos

That is a beautiful little house in Italy you have
Congratulations Julie! You're living your best life, and we get to come along. 😊
When You say "cheap", how much was that? Regards from Costa Rica PURA VIDA
Julie! What a treat to be able to watch this again. I am sitting here shocked at how quickly the years have flown by; this was one of the first videos I watched on the American viscountess channel when I fell in love with you and that channel! Sending love, always, from Horseshoe Bend, Idaho! 🤍
I imagine this channel will be as successful as your "English" channels and will probably garner a new audience altogether because of its location. I haven't been home to England in 17 years, so I live vicariously through your English channels, among others, and I always wanted to visit Italy, so I'll add that vicariously through you, too. Thank you!
The first thing to do prior to hanging your laundry is wipe your clothesline.
Can’t wait to watch once content catches up - but nice reminder to see the progress since the beginning of your Italian journey. Thank you for sharing.
I reuse all of my glass jars... they work great in the cupboard and the refrigerator! I hate plastic!
You need a clothes pin caddy. It hangs on your line and holds all your pins. You can move it along the line as you hang clothes. Easy to take inside and hang in a closet or hook.

That’s how Italians dry their cloths. “When you’re in Rome act like Romans” 😂
Love the lovely and beautiful dresses that you are wearing in this video. Looking forward to watching this new channel and watching all of your videos from the very beginning for both existing viewers and for brand new viewers to the channel.
Super start on your new channel - good for you buying this house and fixing it up. New tip for using a clothesline - each time, take a clean wet cloth with you to clean your line before hanging. Its frustrating to discover dirt on clean clothes after all the work of washing and hanging. Its amazing what lands on it - obviously birds and their poop but mice can run across and even just soot from chimneys. PS why masking outdoors necessary?
How exciting Julie! I’m happy for you. I’m excited for me. I want to live in Italy, but so not on my budget so, you will take me to Italy in your videos. Thanks Julie.
I am obsessed and with your renovation! I'm 75 have been studying Italian for 3 years and want to come stay in your village ! Are you still going to make it into a VRBO?

@@julieinitaly Ill be anxiously waiting to hear more!
You might like a clothespin caddy, they are very handy for keeping your pins close at hand but also protected from the sun. And if it rains you can grab it and bring all the pins in at once. They look like a small item of clothing on a hanger but have an opening to reach inside and are full of your clothes pins. You hang it on the line and move it as you go, then take it back in with your basket when you are done. I've never bought one myself, I've always made mine and everyone else's that wants one, lol. You just need to pick out a toddlers dress from a thrift store, sew the hem and arm holes closed and Voilá! Just put it on a hanger and use the neck and maybe some of the open fastenings as your access to the inside. Sometimes you need to get a child hanger or insert the hanger before you sew the hem.
I am currently on Hospitalisation leave. Watching your videos motivated me & put a smile on my face. Thank you❤

Could you put the toilets in the shower space and the shower where the toilets are? It may be nice to have the toilets in a closed area. After I learned what happens when you flush a toilet, I'm a firm believer in separation (if possible).
Your street is so cute!
Lovely to see Rio Maggiore again.. I visited there for a week years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the whole Cincque Terre area. Thank you!

Oh Julie i was just watching you enjoying hanging your cloths to dry with your new wooden pins and you mentioned someone warning about leaving them out in the rain yes the wood will rot and i had a fond memory of my mother hanging our cloths out to dry when i was a child and you know she had sew a cloths pin bag 🎒 she used a cloths hanger and a bath towel i believe folded up sewing the top around the sholders of the hanger and leaving an opening to drop her cloths pin in and take out, geez wish i had a picture of it to send ya but i know you are quite crafty and I'm sure you can figure one out but she found it easier to carry in and out as we had 7 in our family and required lots of pins for weekly laundry. Your excitement over the little things in life just brings me joy 😊

Get a clothes pin bag with a hook and you can move it around, and take it inside when it rains. Love your House!! Also you can use pin on two things at once. Watch out in wind you really can lose your clothes if they are not pinned well!
Julie, thank you for sharing your Italian adventure. You have an incredible sense of style- I can't wait to see the final results. Maybe reconsider getting rid of the second door. It's handy having access to both sides of the house, and it helps with ventilation.

I will be - at the start - uploading archive Little Italian House vlogs from over the past 3 years in order to help build the channel. Then, starting in July, you will see some new and exciting content. However, I still have the kitchen renovation to complete (nearly there) so those videos will still be uploaded on @americanviscountess and then eventually Julie in Tuscany. Confusing. Yes. Sort of. But let’s just say, you’ll get a good dose of Italy on both channels until the end of 2024 when we fully make the switch. Phew. And thank you!!! I find that you can put twice as much on the clothesline if you hang your clothes on coat hangers, they are less creased and easy to just pop straight in the wardrobe when they are dry 👗
