I bought a new 2002 Mondeo Estate Ghia X 2litre diesel. I ran it for 75,000 miles and gave it to my son. He ran it for a further 70,000 miles and traded it in. Other than service parts the only work needed was a new fuel pump and a new radio. A brilliant car and good value for money.

The last Mondeo I owned was a 2006 2.0 tdci bought for £750 in 2015. It had less than 100k on it and I thought I'd bagged a real bargain. When I drove it home I noticed a slight rattle so the next day I took it to my mechanic and found out it had a broken spring. I also discovered that the flywheel was on it's way out so straight away £1300 for a new flywheel, clutch and a front spring. About a week later it went into limp mode as I was overtaking and nearly killed me. This was something that happened almost every time I drove the car I actually kept the car for 3 years clocking up 150k but despite dozens of trips to different mechanics I never found out why it kept going into limp mode?

@@Norfolkbiker50 Same limp mode problem with my 53 plate diesel mondeo estate. And i've been told of plenty others too. I loved the car. Black with tints. But it wasn't worth spending money on to sort the problem so i scrapped it. Gutted.

Agree ford's from 05 to 09 ish, can still be great cars. Just bought my daughter an 08 fusion 1.4 for 2k and its absolutely mint. They must have been well built and yh, they drive brilliantly.
This is positive proof that if a car is decent in the first place, and is then maintained properly, it will last and will pass an (advisory free) MOT 19 years later!! I’ve had 2 models of these and they’re great cars, very underrated. Great video as always Matt, thank you…👍😊
I love it when owners look after their cars to the point that it has a clean MOT at 20 years. It’s a skill that not many people can achieve.

Had a friend that had a US Modeo and vacationed in Scotland, rented a Mondeo and said it was much better. I had an ST. They are brilliant cars. I don’t think they are boring. Love a mondeo. And an estate. Wow. Talk about a perfect dad car
Excellent result... You deserve this win...
Great Content , really enjoyed this and nice to see the old Mondeos are still going strong, would quite happily use this as a second motor to lug them larger bits about 👍
My father had a 03 Mondeo Estate Zetec S in Oyster. He loved the car apart from the low profile tyres which were very expensive & it seem to go through them quickly. He bought it at 6 months old & traded it in after 125K miles & 8 years of owning it. its still going today & does about 2K a year according to MOT history.
Great video. Ford guy here. Had a mk3 Mondeo Graphite, now got a mk3 ST220. Love these cars. 👏👏
Well done for keeping this on the road - it will be a useful tool for someone.
So refreshing to see a car not offloaded into the trade because it has issues. I was convinced it would be rotten underneath.
Nice one Matt, good to see a positive result for a change, someone is going to get a few more years out of that one.
Great video HPA, nice work Matt,I had a 2.0 ltr Ghia, drove beautifully 👌, lovely interior with all the extras, you made a nice profit on this one glad for you, keep up the great work 👌👍😀
Loving the videos
Love those types of videos
I know many people turn their noses up at the Mondeo but after fifty years of driving various cars I can honestly say that my Mondeo has been the most reliable I've had. Straight through the MOT for the last 8 years with only the odd tyre required.

Mondeo was 'Car of the Year' winner for most years. Great cars.
Lovely cars these. Still look fresh to this day imo. Crackin' purchase you got there.
Mate, an old shed and a listen to you ramble through your memories, 25 minutes well spent. Thanks for the video!
I love the fact that you're using the Berlingo!
I did think at the start of the video, that this Mondeo would be destined for the scrapyard, I don’t like to see any car scrapped, so I’m glad it’s going to a new home. Great video, as always Matt❤.
Love your opinion on sunglasses etiquette Matt, couldn't agree more.

There a great old car and deserves a new lease of life simple practical and reliable great video matt good luck with the sale will make someone a great little runaround for a few years 👍
Another fabulous find. It is amazing where these survivors come from. I'm sure this will go as quick as it turned up
loving the slow slide into unfettered partridge.
Another great video 👍
Hi there I'm an avid watcher of your videos and I gotta say I really love how you drop idioms and expressions every now and then. "gotta make hay while the sun shines". As English is not my 1st language, I found those really amusing.

Good to see you finally pick up a winner Mat. Youre bang on about covid prices too. They have softwned s little of late, but still heavily inflated compared to pre covid values!
As always Matt👍 btw love Mondeos as you know. You can never go wrong with a Mondeo made for high mileage and penny pocket part replacement👍👍
