I bought a bag of Phones & iPods for $50

I bought a bag filled with 32 different devices for £50. What works? What doesn't? Is there money to be made?

Would definitely watch a video on the old iPod. Curious about the slab BlackBerry phone as well. The ones manufactured by TCL were actually pretty decent Android phones. I love the old Nokia phones that have character. Phones used to be so customizable and now all you can do is put a funky case on your black or white slab of glass. iPhone repairs are typically pretty easy, that's how I started repairing small electronics actually but as others have said if they're cloud locked you probably won't ever be able to do anything with them.

Hi. The case with some of the iPhones is called a boot loop. All you have to do is open up the iPhone/iPod/iPad and disconnect the microphone/connect the microphone(if it wasn’t connected) and try again, it’s a simple error. I experienced it once with my iPhone XS Max

Just a heads up, besides the old ones all apple devices are quite likely to be iCloud locked. Reset doesnt remove the lock. There is not a complete bypass to an iCloud lock so the devices will not be usable (some partial bypasses exist but the functions you unlock with them are very limited, not worth it in my opinion). Keep this in mind if you are thinking about investing money and time to repair them.

A common problem with the early models in the Samsung Galaxy series (e.g. S3, S4) is USB port failure, which among other things prevents the phone from charging. I had short-lived success working around that by using wireless charging adapter pads (which used contact points inside the phone, bypassing the USB port), but later found it easier (and more reliable) to just swap batteries and use a dedicated wall charger … that is, until the phones themselves eventually died. Don’t know whether that bit of info might be relevant to your troubleshooting efforts, but thought I’d share it just in case. 🙂

9:37 man I really hope you're right. I've got a couple of them, one of which I sometimes use as a dumb phone. The problem with these older phones is that in about 2-4 years from now 2G network will be shut down. When that happens these become glorified paper weights since all data transfer (not just internet but also regular calls and SMS) depends on 2G. So there could definitely still be a market for collectors but unless someone releases an upgrade kit with a modern antenna, which never say never but it's highly unlikely, in the near future these can't be sold as useable phones.

That must mean it could potentially be on an old iOS version 4:50 Left is iPhone 7, Right is 6s. Dude, wear some latex or nitrile gloves when handling used tech, specially if you're going to shove your hands in a bag full of them. You never know where those things have been. Then disinfect each and every one of them before placing them in different parts of your studio! Other than that, great find! Those phones, old as they may be, would be super useful in third-world countries

it means u that the iOS that is installed is passwo0rd protected and that someone entered the wrong password incorrectly more than the designated times, on iOS 15. you have five tries before it becomes disabled. now to disable that security curtain, you need to plug it in to a pc, hold down the home key while pushing the power/sleep key, let go of the power/sleep key but still hold in the home key, and it SHOULD go in to default firmware update or DFU mode. you will need iTunes either for mac OS or iTunes for Windows to do the full recover.

Do a review of one of those using the cameras of all of them. So a different phone for every section of the video. Also; I am shocked by how many of these work! I feel like someone may have actually just collected them from electronics recycling bins. It's weird to see how many relatively modern phones are in there. The revamped 3310 featurephone is still for sale for 70 euros, and it's in there for 50. Pretty sure that's already more than half of your value! Also that's a blackberry leap. Actually not running android, but with a full touch screen. Bit of an odd ball! Have fun erasing them!
