I want you to build this engine. I mean, we all know it's not worth it, but I want to really see what you can do when you build a really sweet bike. Like, powder coat the frame, make it look like a new type of deal. It's a shitbike already. You're only going to make your money back or a few hundred dollars exta anyway. Why no challenge yourself? I want to see you challenge yourself. I don't want every video of the project, so do like 1 week of project bike and the next one you find and back and forth. Do you burn us out.

Depends on how much it costs to rebuild the entire motor plastics tires etc I'd imagine getting this bike back basically new would cost around 2 grand which wouldn't be a terrible deal considering you would know everything that needed to be is new and not going out buying a used bike and having to take a chance on it being a dud lol and costing ya loads more cash than ya bargained for 😂 Bikes are like boats and will all know what boat stands for B Bust O Out A Another T Thousand 😁

retro styling was objective and functional. Not this abstract art from a transformers cartoon with arrow tips, (that not even the artist can explain), with a front fender that looks like a mechanical broken bird beak, and a rear fender that is so tall, pointing in the air, that you can't get a boot over it with out kicking it if you are 6 foot 2. The 80's and half the 90's were "the age of reason" in MX. The crap we ride today, (sans how good a 4-stroke does hook up to the ground), is 100% dysfunctional. The entire industry is so irrationals today,---you guys are racing with a freestyle bar set up---and you can't corner worth a crap with out a berm. There was a MX movie in 1986 called "Winner takes all" (on YT), and that ugly 'Hurricane bike" is your modern styling today. I did a lot of plastic surgery on my 2019 YZ250 2-stroke, to make it a rational machine, instead a pile of worthless abstract art. That junk belongs in the garbage, like your handle bar set up. :)

Nice find man enjoyed the video. A little trick for those cylinder jug bolts use the closed end of a second wrench and attach it to the open end of the wrench you were hammering on and it'll give you twice the leverage those nuts always loosen up pretty easy for me using that method no need to hammer the wrench and vibrate your fingers to death lol. Just a tip if you hadn't even seen it before.

Its a shame it was left outside. do you have a impact driver? it would have been very useful taking off that ignition cover. they last forever, I have the same one I bought 50 years ago. though i must admit I have had to replace the bits twice over the years, still something every bike mechanic should have in their tool box. love the videos

Anyway have any tips on getting varnish and rust out of a gas tank? So far I have put vinegar and metal bbs in it to break the stuff up and vinegar to dissolve it, but just in case that doesn’t do the trick all the way does anyone have any other ideas?

Put the box end of a 2nd wrench into the open end of the 1 your hammering on, doubling the legnth of the wrench for leverage.

I think parting it out is The best. You Will need New crank and bearings plus seals gaskets and allot more to make The Engine working again. I think you can part it out and get around 400-500$ out of it so its not that bad.
