You saved my mother's smartphone. After watching randomly your videos I saw you saved liquid damage things many times using literally a toothbrush. Months ago I just tried with only alcohol but it was still in bootloop. Then I said myself "if he can make these things I can try it". After 20 minutes the smartphone came back alive using only a screwdriver and a thootbrush, then after that I repaired 3 mouses and 2 wired Xbox 360 controllers with a disconnecting problem too. I am a software expert and never thought to touch the hardware, but after watching your videos now I love it too

Hey TronicsFix, the entire analog housing can be disassembled if you’re willing to put enough time into it. That should solve your issue of not being able to repair that one stick. I repair a lot of controllers and have had to disassemble the analog sticks a few times to clean them. Unfortunately you do have to desolder them to do this. Also, I find it easier and quicker to just immediately pry the potentiometer back, pull the little wiper out, and clean the graphite trace inside the board. This is quicker because after I clean the trace, I can immediately see if it’s actually damaged. If it’s not, I just pull the wiper traces up a bit to make better contact and it fixes it every time.

The thing with the paddle on #7 is similar to dpad issues I've seen. Same type of membrane buttons on contacts. I always go straight to replacing the plastic piece. Those kinds of buttons are so simple in how they work and really hard to break, and it's usually the plastic that actuates it that's the problem.

For an expensive premium controller, it’s pretty poor MS stick the same pots that they (and pretty much all the other manufacturers) use in their regular controllers. There are better alternatives that don’t wear out available, so it’s disappointing that they don’t use them, or at least socket the pots so they can be replaced more easily.

If you guys want to fix that paddle issue. I also tried to fix it with cleaning but that didn't work. What I did was I added a little strip of paper or thin tape to the pressing plunger portion that clicks the contact. You have to get the thickness of tape right to have it feel like the original but it worked for me. Also, you have to make sure it's pretty small since you have to depress the middle of the pad and not the outsides! But hopefully that helped in some way!

Then two of them had the RB shoulder button start acting up like double clicking about 5-6 months of owning...the third one was the LB shoulder...took them all apart it had nothing to do with the plastic mechanism that pushes the button on the board it was the actual button on the board that went bad....its sad seeing how expensive these controllers are...I can promise you the one where you just cleaned the rb button it will start to act up again I would clean the button and it would only last a day or two before it started miss clicking was so annoying

I'd be hesitant using that BW100. It's okay but for me, it never solved anything. But your milage may vary.

Contact cleaners like BW100 seem like they’re made for this controller. I've fixed so many issues on my Elite Series 2 just y spraying some contact cleaner on the component

I think cleaning potentiometers with BW-100 really isn't the best use. It's also a bit misleading since if anything it will only very briefly make it better by washing away any material that's worn off. The best fix would've been just to replace the potentiometers. For #6 in the background you could still very clearly see it jumping around after it had been "fixed." Also I'm not sure what the affect on the grease in the stickboxes the BW-100 would have. If it's dissolving it then that's just going to expedite the wear inside those joysticks.

I absolutely hate the fact they more or less glued the top cover, the next elite series controller better have hall effect sensors for the thumbsticks and the dam bumpers need a better design eventually that plastic pad on the bumper button wears out.

Stick drift is a pain in the arse. I just had to take apart my controller after being only 7mo old for the same reason. Plus I've seen many more controllers like mine. Yes, my controller is under warranty but paying for shipping and waiting multiple weeks for a "refurbished" controller wasn't an option for me. If you clean it and it doesn't work I bet if yoy pull the pot trimmer back away from the actual joystick assembly, you'll find a worn out contact strip or two that are completely worn through to the pcb base material and not making proper contact with the contactors on the assembly. The Alps joystick modules they use are junk compared to other consoles on the market. Sadly Nintendo switches also use those joysticks.
