Why is Bosnia and Herzegovina a weird country? Why does it have two names? Maybe it's because it has 2 names, 3 presidents, & 6 Frenchmen...

Just some info about the family members section... That's a carryover from former yugoslavia passports, which was for some time retained in Croatia as well, and I guess other former YU countries. This feature enabled for the kids to be put, as we used to say it "in the adult's passport", meaning that the kids did not have to have their own passports, which could have saved a lot of money to a family, since generaly passport fees have been quite high, and still are over here. Sadly, I suppose the biometric passports have killed this feature, although in Croatia it was removed a lot earlier, in 1999 when the second gen of post independence passport came out

Thanks! Many other old passports allowed the bearer to include family members too. But the feature is rarely seen on passports issued in the 21st century. I was surprised to see that on a 2009 passport. And yes, no more in biometric passports

There would be plenty of historical stuff that could have been placed inside the passport like the letter of ban kulin or the historical gravestones called stecci. The bosnian passport is one of the only passports that lets you go VISA Free to most EU countries and at the same time to places like China and Russia. Basically letting you go through east and west literally.

The Bosnian passport is also one of the fastest growing passports in 2010s, although the Serbian is doing better now.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has 2 entities Republika Srpska and FEDERATION of Bosnia and Herzegovina (who is divided on 10 cantons), and 1 district, Brčko District. For that territorial division you need to thank Dayton peace conference (for Srpska and Federation of BiH), but why Brčko District exist, who knows?

The two entities could not agree on who should govern the town of brcko it was the only thing left unsettled in Dayton so it was put under arbitration for a year and put on the local leaders to agree on what to do with it eventually but after 5 years of no side being able to give in on a compromise the OHR decided to make it it's own self governing Administrative unit pretty much a 3rd entity

Interesting way of making fun of others. You must be “ bloody German” 😂 and you still think that everyone is not good enough. You guys lost the war twice. Do not take it personal. Peace is better than a war. The agreement is still effective. I love Bosnia.
