SMH. I work for vivobarefoot in Australia and have had to deal with the guys in America. They treat the shoes so poorly and the warehouse is not well kept. Those moldy shoes are most likely due to the boxes being left on the wet ground for too long when unloading (when new stock arrives and before it gets onto the shelves). Please let your customer service no about those Gobi shoes because the negligence of a few is letting the whole brand and the poor shipping companies look bad.

It’s a shame that Vivobarefoot in Australia has so much trouble keeping any stock. Been told a 3 month wait for Gobi, Ra, Geo Court. 😢
Awesome video! I have owned the MAGNA FG Vivos for 2 years and I can testify that they're extremely waterproof. I've gone hiking in mixed conditions in England, walked through deep puddles and through the rain countless times and my feet have stayed 100% dry.
Thank you for the very thorough review of the Vivo's!! Its often difficult to appreciate the pro's and con's by just seeing pics on a website. I appreciate the honest impressions of everything from "feel" to "style". I will def be investing in some of the options you reviewed - hopefully Vivo gives you some complimentary shoes for your work!! :)
Thanks for all the reviews, some of them are tough to tell on the website. This is what I was looking for!
Just bought the Primus Trail All Weather FG's last week with your discount code, delivered yesterday. Great shoes. I had 5-Fingers about 10 years ago until they failed with holes after years of wear. After one day, I already like the Vivos better. They feel like track sprint spikes without a forefoot spike plate. Love it!

Dude, thank you so much! I am overwhelmed by the amount of shoes on their website so this was fantastic. I am a Xero Shoes guy for running and causal wear but their shoes do lack style so am really interested in Vivo’d Primus & Gobi range for work and causal wear. Thank you for pointing out the reason why they run out of stock regularly as that is a valid point. I like your style so ill definitely follow you. Cheers

Good review.!!! The most helpful so far.
I ran a half marathon in the Primus Lites and I have over 250 miles on the trail in the Primus Trails. I would recommend the Magna over the Primus Trail because it should keep small rocks from coming over the top better

The Primus trail ii are seriously the best pair of shoes I've owned...I started wearing only sandals back in the mid 90s and barefoot shoes around 2008{ish}...While living in Bolivia {5 yrs} I pretty much hiked all kinds of high mountains in Chaco sandals and the local Abarca sandals...This would be a perfect shoe for pretty much any mountain to base camp approach shoe...Also these shoes look like a cool pair of indoor soccer shoes...And the outer sole is the closest thing to a Vibram sole quality that Ive seen...
Hey, great showdown! Update on what you kept and how which pairs performed would be valuable. Also, I wouldn't worry too much about the 'clowny' look. They don't look like that at all... it's a matter of getting used to the look of the wider toe box, but few days on they'll look normal to you. And other people don't even see them the way you do cause only you have protective from straight up. .. May they all serve you well

Thank you for these reviews. Also, all this talk about "barefoot" shoes looking weird is just based on the idea that people are generally used to shoes that have tapered toe boxes. Perhaps when more and more people wear shoes with wider toe boxes such shoes will become the new norm. Norms change. The idea of shoes with wide toe boxes not cramping one's toes like shoes with tapered toe boxes do already is an attractive selling point for the "barefoot" shoes.

Vivos definitely aren't the widest of barefoot brands and depending on your foot shape, or how long you've been in barefoot footwear, they may not be for you. Personally, size 8 US mens is the perfect length (without insole) but much too narrow for my toe splay. However, I do love their boots and sizing up to a 10 US men's fits a thermal insole and socks nicely. Weird how that works. Shame cause while I have shoes from other brands that I love, still nothing comes close to the aesthetic of vivos.

Your thoughts on fit would have been good as well.
Are there brands of shoes that make standard shoes that just have a foot shaped toe box, zero drop but not squishy? Can imagine traditional shoe makers making comfortable shoes that don't necessarily have a barefoot feel but take elements of the proper toe box and no drop, even with more padding

I can tell you two things from a life time of running in all different kind of terrains, once your knees are damaged (like mine with cartilage damage). 1st: if you continue running, you'll end up semi crippled, 2nd: if you use shoes without cushioning (even for walking after the damage) you'll make the damage even worse. The other bit of advice is give up running when your 50 and use bike instead, I kept on running until I was 62 and then next day after a good 8 mile run (last 4 miles 7 min/miles) I could hardly walk. No indication, no prior warning, they just went; sometimes you get a warning that something is going wrong (which many fanatical runners like me would have ignored anyway, I suspect). A year after that my left foot arch collapsed, probably due to the compensating way I was now walking. The next mistake I made was following the suggestions of another runner and use bare foot shoes for walking, this exacerbate everything and then some. Six years later and now I require the support of shopping trolley to get round the supermarket to make it tolerable, I can walk on pavement for around 5 minutes, I can walk on soft surfaces like grass and sand for a couple of miles but that's about it. I bought a pair of Cloudmonster running shoes a month back and found that they make it significantly easier to walk on hard surfaces, you can draw your own conclusions from that, Cloudmonster are about the most cushioned shoes you can get.

I was a mixed martial artist, rock climber, trail and hill runner, so I trained using calisthenics, Pilates and yoga and I also used weights and resistance cables, it varied depending on what discipline I was focusing on at the time. There is not much I haven't done and there isn't much I don't know either, since I started competing in Karate first when I was 12, I've never stopped training, I now cycle around 140 miles on the road per week and I also cycle to the gym each alternate day for weights and yoga and I also include some knees over toes workouts. But walking along a pavement is torturous, so there is no point in doing holidays, no sight seeing anymore and sitting around a pool or beach was never my scene. You reap what you sow at the end of the day. The point is this though, now that my knees are damaged, why is that that cushioned soles make a significant difference as to how far and how well I can walk? If I attempt to even walk across the road to my daughters house, about a hundred yards from me, in a pair of my old barefoot shoes, I'm hobbling immediately, why that?
Other than the white, nobody is going to see that straight down view of the wider toe box. It really isn't visible from another perspective than the wearer.

And that’s a lot of shoes!! Nice!
How do they fit? Did you go down size or upsize or the same? TIA.
Great video. But what's with everyone refers the the ground as "the floor". It's called the ground when you are outside.
If you think those white Addis shoes look like clown shoes, you should see my top down view of my Bohempia Okriks. They're the barefoot dupe for Converse chuck taylors x Krusty the Clown shoes. But hey, I'm saving myself from bunion surgery in a few years, so clown chic it is.

Oh wow!
So would you recommend to go a size up on the tracker? I like to have about a half a inch in front of my toes. So I'm just wondering

yes i'd follow Vivo's recommendation. also worth ordering two sizes & return the one that doesn't fit
Which did you wind up keeping? And which, if any, are favs now in your regular rotation? I have the Forest ESC boots, have used them in every condition I bought them for -- wet, mud, rocky-rooty mountain trail, property chores in woods & pasture, snow-slush, and even slick ice with WinterTrax on them -- and love them more every time I use them.

What size do you recommend? I’m an 11.5. Also I’m in between buying the Forest ESC or the magna ESC

@@aries_tottle5551 I went by the sizing info on the vivobarefoot website and the fit came out just right. As for which model, that really depends on your use. The Magna version wasn't out yet for me, but I'm glad to have the ankle scuff/scrape protection of the boot top for working around downed trees, and they are more waterproof-able being leather all the way up. What kinds of use are you planning for?
I habe the Scott in leather. They are amazing
Can i wear the trail knit FG everyday the same way you would with the primus lite knit and get the same barefoot benefits or is one better than the other?
Nice stache bro 👍

thank you! should i keep or shave?!
I’ve been sticking with Altra’s and Vibram Fivfingers bc the price is more competitive and these companies are able to maintain a healthy inventory; even to the point of giving you an option to preorder a shoe that’s out of stock in most instances. Vivobarefoot has the style most people would prefer but they have terrible manufacturing/inventory practices. It’s never in stock

Quality of Vivobarefoot is atrocious too for the price
The only angle I missed? Inside the shoes ;) Otherwise very well done.

I like the video . Thx
Did you find Upping size in the tracker to be needed?

yes I'm happy I did
There don’t appear to be any half sizes in the Ababa. I’m a 9.5. Should I get a size 9 or 10?
Omg, very useful, thank you very much! Can you help me? 😭 I would like to shop my first Vivobarefoot shoes but I have to do it online (no stores here) and have no enough money to order 2 sizes together. My foot is 27.5cm (I'm a man). I would like to take a Primus Trail model or a Tracker II FG and I would use them daily and to hike. Can you suggest the right size for me? 😭 Sorry for this sad message (ahah!).
